I agree with you. don’t think Lauren was the person for Ben and something about her doesn’t make me feel that she was genuine and I feel Ben made a huge mistake. She seemed to strain her emotions and the passion & chemistry to me was lacking between her and Ben especially at the proposal. He should have listened to his mother who was able to see the difference between Lauren and Jojo and she’s saw through the red flags 🚩 . This season was released in 2016 and at that point I wasn’t watching the Bachelor anymore. But I did fall back into the bachelor this year and I just watched the entire seasons of the bachelor and can’t help but noticed that there’s always a “perfect” blonde girl that takes the spotlight and “wind” the guys heart from the beginning without even trying and it’s almost always based on looks without much depth. I gave it time to not judge Lauren and see if there’s more to her and honestly I didn’t see it and I felt like their connection was really surface level. From what Ben says he wanted, it seems like The other girls like avails and especially Jojo would have been it. But I feel like a lot of these bachelor guys feel the pressure to come out of this with the trophy 🏆 wife who is: perfect looking, fits the media beauty standards, come from privilege & a perfect family & give that perfect Christian/values vibe. With Lauren he said it himself it all seems to be too good to be true like everything was perfect and their relationship was never put to the test which is why of course you would assume this is uf and at his age that’s the biggest mistake you can make because life and love will will test your marriage. And Not to say those things are inherently bad but if they are the only reasons you pick someone they could be. Even Lauren admitted that she comes from a perfect family and not to say you can’t be a good person or a fit wife (in fact it’s a good foundation) but it all just seemed like their talks really weren’t as deep and real as the others were. I didn’t see or at least she didn’t share real life events that actually made her who she is and fit to be someone’s future wife who will stand by them in tough times. Sure she shared being guarded due to past relationships but everyone goes through that. Jojo on the other hand is someone who made Ben feel loved and one of his fears was being unlovable, she made him be himself & relaxed and he and his own mother admitted that he needed someone like that because he does get hard on himself. Jojo brought out of the best in him and spoke to the man in him even during house drama and she connected really well with Ben’s mother. I feel like Lauren was just looking for “her person” but he personality and journey with Ben didn’t prove that she was also looking to give love and want the best for Ben too while Jojo on the other hand she was ready to do what it takes to build and keep a marriage. They overcame a tough hometown visit with her two brothers who really challenged the person who Ben is and Jojo showed Ben that she would stand by him always even if the people who raised her doubted. Ben said he would be ready ti show Jojo family through action that they are not what he thinks and I thought that challenge was what would push Ben to choose Jojo but maybe he backed out and went for the “easier” option which was Lauren’s perfect family. Unfortunately that can take a surprising turn real quick because you didn’t get challenged and have no idea what you as a couple and who Lauren is when your relationship is tested especially with family drama. For me since Lauren “had it easy” the entire journey and never really had to prove herself as well with any depth, a relationship like that Quickly forms a foundation where someone like Lauren would become entitled to receiving and receiving and never really pouring. And low and behold idk what made them split but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the red flags I just shared here. To anyone else reading this if you are a man looking for a future partner, be aware of these mistakes and don’t make them. Stay true to what you are truly looking for and not just perfection. The perfection won’t sustain a relationship. Truly, I really feel that Ben really loved Jojo.
Jessica O I watched the show. he had more chemistry with Jojo. I don't know why he picked Lauren bc they didn't like a serious couple other than the cute HS couple that looked cute but knew by next semester they wouldn't make it. I remember him saying that he always felt unlovable and he seems afraid to fall in love and be with the right person 😒😟
+Destiny Dunmore I think he had a lot of friendship chemistry with Jojo, which could've been better. I think he was more intrigued by Lauren all along. She was more to herself and sweet seeming. It probably gave an air of mystery.
I could understand Lauren on this one. When a guy proposes to you're under the assumption you're going to get married under an agreed date. Once Ben started becoming indecisive with the wedding date I could understand why Lauren's trust/reassurance started to waver. There's nothing pleasant about feeling STUCK in an engagement with a person who suddenly feels indecisive if they want to be with you or not. He took her time for granted. Yes, Lauren on to the next one, don't waste your time to be a LOCK DOWN SIDE PIECE. I'm happy she moved on. Why do people always blame the women on this one? If he needed more time he should've been more open about it in the beginning. She literally told her family, friends, started planning, making all these preparations FOR WHAT? For Ben to get cold feet, it's embarrassing! She has every right to feel the way she feels.
Couples that do a reality show together about what their lives are like together etc usually end up breaking up. There's only one reality show from a famous celebrity couple that I've seen that didn't ruin their relationship. The whole point of their show was to televise their wedding which was beautiful.
Honestly, if you've cancelled the wedding once and it wasn't for some sort of emergency reason, you've taken a huge step back and your relationship is most likely not going to recover. I'll never understand the charade of the perfect wedding at the perfect date, all one big circus act. If you're really serious about this being the person you want to spend your life with, you'll marry them on a Tuesday afternoon with a handful of witnesses and have your wedding dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings surrounded by only your closest friends and family and you'll still be beaming because it was all about the person and the intimacy and not the show.
Jayne Karinova EXACTLY! Tbh I think Ben wasn't ready to commit but he liked the spot light he even tried to have a televised wedding but Lauren wasn't for it.
Everytime i see them 2 together, i can feel the awkwardness and i feel uncomfortable through a screen lol. But i knew this was gonna happen, I was waiting for it. Not to be mean or anything but this wasnt it from the get go
Lissaloo142 I believe he picked her because he knew he wasn't going to really commit (subconsciously). I think he felt she was stronger than Jojo emotionally. Just some silly opinions but seems to connect now.
Exactly!!!! There’s something about Lauren that was just awkward and not genuine. Her smile seems forced and so does the way she expresses herself. There’s introversion and then there’s just lack of original personality especially when all you rely on is looks and coming from a perfect family. I was very blindsided when he chose her over Jojo. I don’t think Lauren was the person for Ben and something about her doesn’t make me feel that she was genuine and I feel Ben made a huge mistake. Honestly I think she got tired of him just know actually committing. It was really only him having the wedding issue, she was totally down. She gave him multiple opportunities to even bring the wedding back on the table. & then had to deal with the extreme embarrassment of the man who purposed on natural tv wouldn't even pick a date
Sure, shouldn't have asked her the big question then...but they know each other for how long? There is a difference between lust and love. He wanted to get her since day 1 and he did. Obviously in real life it wasn't a fairytale after all and he was smart not to rush anywhere.
You nailed it. She was letting him take the lead and you could see her standing in his shadow feeling disempowered. She got really thin too. I think he was a huge emotional DRAIN on her. Huge.
They never felt like a couple, more like those ''couples'' who have an upcoming movie to promote, so they pretend. The way they posed was so awkward.... I believe there was feelings, but ...Ben was too... broke for her. Look how she loves to live. And then look where Ben's heart lies. It's shallow vs. selfless. Neither is bad, but it just doesn't work together.
Hell yeah they were having trouble. They didn't speak the same love language. Saw it in every episode on their show. Made it awkward and uncomfortable to watch. And that little TINY house made me feel claustrophobic.
I felt so bad for her that even after everything with JoJo was all said and done, they still found ways to lump her into some aspects of their lives. Like having them in the audience of the AFTR for JoJo's season was just cruel for both them and JoJo, and then bringing her and Jordan on their show was pretty fucked up too.
I knew they were not a good match. Jojo was a better match. Lauren seems to good to be true and any guy would be mesmerized by her and gravitate to her but it all Fantasy. He should have gone with his gut not infatuation.
This guy drained the emotional life force right out of this girl. He has EMOTIONAL holes that another human will never be able to fill. Nor should they. He just kept her in limbo to keep her attention towards him, always waiting for him to say, "ok now". That gets real exhausting after a while. Enough is enough. It may seem like she's cold for moving on quickly, but when you've been waiting and giving to a point where you just snap, it's natural to connect with someone who is not such a drain on you and isnt so emotionally needy. And this guy really needs constant reassurance that he's loved and okay in the world. Too much... That's codependency, not love.
Now that they have officially broke up, I guess it's safe to say now that he proved Leah Block from his season right when she told him that if he chooses Lauren it will definitely not work out. Despite her being deceiving and manipulating, in an attempt to sabotage Ben and Lauren's relationship, I'll say she coincidentally predicted the break up over a year later. The reason why I say coincidentally because she's not a fortune teller (even fortune tellers predicts wrongly). She just said that out of jealousy when she noticed that he had a strong connection with Lauren. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt as with any other Bachelor or Bachelorette couple, but I did start to have a slight doubt when I viewed an episode of their show late last year...
I thought I was crazy for feeling this way but I agree with you! I don’t think Lauren was the person for Ben and something about her doesn’t make me feel that she was genuine and I feel Ben made a huge mistake. Good for you Ben! 🙌🏼👏🏼 I never liked her....you could do so much better and now you can go find her! Plus better to break up an engagement than a marriage! Smart man 💕
Ben is still great and i feel like her picked her cause blonde smal women are his type, so for him it was more physical Connection that blinded his judgement, feels like Jojo really id truly love him more than Lauren, i never felt it from her.... but good luck to Ben
Lauren started dressing like a nun dating ben, and she was half naked after they split. Her weight is also a reflection of their relationship. The weight loss is the indicator of their downfall.
I'm no expert as I am obviously just someone observing from afar but personally I think they probably shouldn't have done that follow up show (which I never even watched haha). They were only just getting to actually go out and about as a couple after having to keep it a secret for however long the bachelor was showing or maybe they had even started filming it before Lauren was announced as the winner idk. I don't really understand why they would want to do it apart from money and fame or to satisfy obsessed viewers. Surely they would rather have wanted to spend more time away from cameras and people's opinions to really get to know each other and properly begin their life together...
I don't like how Ben slept with multiple people on his season. It added poison to any future relationship he was going to have. However, these people get "engaged" after 2 months of going on 3 dates total. Lauren was pushing to get married, and Ben needed time to wrap his head around it. I think most normal people are not quite comfortable getting married within a year from MEETING each other. I also don't think they were compatible at the end of the day. I'm glad they each found their person. 💙
Lauren got too laid-back after the "engagement", got too comfortable, hung around the Twins whom are not that mature. Think Ben saw that. He was more confident and happy with JoJo.
Belinda Schafer I think he says things that sound noble but doesn't really know what they mean by placing them into action in his life. I don't think he's fake on purpose. I think he's just in an immature stage of life.
It appears to me, they got caught up in the life of fame. They did a lot of tv stuff. To their defense, the odds of marrying someone with only a few dates generally doesn't pan out once the fame starts to diminish. I was hoping it would work out for them. But now a question arises...Will Ben make his debut on Bachelor in Paradise? :)
If he was serious about getting married He would of got married He should of asked LB do you wish to do ministry work on the show It appears to my Wife that Ben did not ask each girl do u desire ministry work Ben needs one who wants in ministry She was all in he was not
I'm seeing a lot of comments saying it's because he shoulda been with Jojo or that he regretted not choosing Jojo and that's far from the case they didn't work out because Ben was too caught up with being a reality star they never had a break to be together and that's where they fucked up I watched their show and I could tell Lauren resented that he did that
"I'm so shocked they broke up". Said no one ever.
Who was actually surprised? I just didn't see it when we got to the finale. I was very surprised that he had picked her.
Trish0871 me too!
He lead her own now she has
Chris lane as her husband

he still has regrets not chosing Jojo that's where it went downhill from there. she always felt insecure when Jojo name was mentioned
I never saw the connection between him an jojo...
I think lauren was perfect for him but the jojo thing must always be in the back of her mind. and then filming their life....
Destiny Dunmore you must not have not watched it!!

He probably wanted something like Tanner and Jade's wedding special lol
Why did he cancel the wedding initially?
Yup. Although I would go with Wings and Rings. Lol
Shannon Albers
He gave no real reason

I called it the moment he chose her over jojo, too obvious..

They lived together
Pearl Styled do you still want Ben and JoJo together or not anymore?
melissa no. He said he was scared that he wasn't lovable. That might be hanging over him. He needs someone super caring and selfless.
I remember his mother saying that Ben is not an easy person to be with. I think you are right. Lauren got skinny and sad as time passed with Ben.
Good for you Ben! 🙌🏼👏🏼 I never liked her....you could do so much better and now you can go find her! Plus better to break up an engagement than a marriage! Smart man 💕
Are u kidding me?!! My heart 💔 for this couple..
he shouldn't have told TWO women that he loved them. that's really his main f*ck up point
Ben is still great and i feel like her picked her cause blonde smal women are his type, so for him it was more physical Connection that blinded his judgement, feels like Jojo really id truly love him more than Lauren, i never felt it from her.... but good luck to Ben
She wants small until after the bachelor. She was at least 20lbs heavier on the show.
I'm glad they split up- lol better now than later.
There was one big sign "It is the fucking Bachelor" there is a 98% chance they will not make it
Good for you Ben
Sorry but she bugs. He was so chill and she's so uptight.
Like both of them but Ben is afraid of commitment. He may regret not committing. Lauren is a catch.
B Davis ..no she's not...she's boring, plain and walks like has a baseball bat up her arse
V Nova ... 🤣🤣😂😂...Lol
She gets skinnier and skinnier as the time goes on.. like a little unhealthy looking
I noticed thar..hope she found her real person..ben was not him
She married a leg up with Chris lane
Holy shit she doesnt even look like the same girl that was on the show
team #benjo (jojo and ben), i always was from the start buts its great that jojo is happy w someone else
You date to see if you're compatible, if not, call it off. It happens it's real life no matter where or how you meet.
Lauren started dressing like a nun dating ben, and she was half naked after they split. Her weight is also a reflection of their relationship. The weight loss is the indicator of their downfall.
Did anyone else notice how different Lauren looked in the last clip? That Botox did not do her well
LOL!
Ben wanted to do the show, Lauren didnt wanna do it
he's pretty ocd and been the one to always put the skids on......not good. she's put up with enough stop-n-go.
Ben and Lauren, that is the saddest news I've heard in a long time. Hope you don't throw it out without some garbage.
that this was surprising? next is nick and Vanessa
Should've chose Caila
GGinaa Lee she's cool but deserves better.
chempanda xi totally agree
Lauren got too laid-back after the "engagement", got too comfortable, hung around the Twins whom are not that mature. Think Ben saw that. He was more confident and happy with JoJo.
I agree. Lauren hanging with the twins made her look as air-heady as they are. Ben saw that he wasn't dating a grown women.
So I never watched their show.. What was his "reason" for calling off the original wedding?
He chose the wrong woman... He fell in love with the wrong woman...
EVERYONE could tell they were so awkward from the beginning
He just felt fake to me...right through the screen. I would never trust this guy ...EVER.
Belinda Schafer I think he says things that sound noble but doesn't really know what they mean by placing them into action in his life. I don't think he's fake on purpose. I think he's just in an immature stage of life.
Belinda Schafer Same! 🙋♀️
Knew it from when he chose her. The reality show nailed it in the coffin for me. Horrible acting
The show is fake, how can you date someone for a month and engage to them only seeing their good side?
It appears to me, they got caught up in the life of fame. They did a lot of tv stuff. To their defense, the odds of marrying someone with only a few dates generally doesn't pan out once the fame starts to diminish. I was hoping it would work out for them. But now a question arises...Will Ben make his debut on Bachelor in Paradise? :)
i knew it!
She is fame hungry
So many women find it hard to believe that their fiances, boyfriends or husbands are hooking up with men that they meet on Grinder, Craigslist, etc.
Omg I'm so sad, I hope it's not real!!!
If he was serious about getting married He would of got married
He should of asked LB do you wish to do ministry work on the show
It appears to my Wife that Ben did not ask each girl do u desire ministry work
Ben needs one who wants in ministry
She was all in he was not
All signs were there
She got so skinny!! Wow
I am soooo sad
He's a jerk....plain and simple.
Alexia Evans commitment phobe he is.
So dos appointed.
Look at how far apart they seat in that interview so sad
Jo jo was the better looking girl
Complete stupidity! He'll be cheating with another pretty face.
Why was he so dumb on not seeng the fatal outcome. . .dead in the water
He miss lead
Lauren is so hot
awkawrd to fuck that skeleton must be
Lauren fixed something as you can tell at closer to the end clip when she said she diverse to adopt the pet interview.
I really loved them together..sigh!
