Hi Sam. I bought the WiFi controller off eBay for my heater. It actually turns the heater on and off at the temps you set. Game changer. No more waking up cold or sweating my t**s off. Plus you can use your phone to turn it on and off remotely. Well worth the £100 I paid. Great video as always bud keep em coming. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Sam. To silence ours i put the original in a plastic box with i covered in Dodo matting, which works fairly well, but you can still hear it slightly when in bed, this might be an option for us to remove the little bit of a clicking we do have, great find.
For the inlet of the air to burn [black plastic filter], insert the beer can, keep 1cm of space (half the pipe) from the walls. This simple silencer will cut the noise in half.
Yep just change mine to the same pump, definitely an improvement, didn’t prime mine though and still fired up on the first burn up, cheers for the video though
Hint for when flooding the chamber and the flame fails on startup... Kink inlet fuel pipe, go through startup, once you hear the flame fire up, unkink and run at full power until hot. I had lots of problems identifying the issue and it was the burn chamber flooded and in an area that cant be opened without a disc cutter.
The anticipation was palpable. They should not be called silent, just quieter, or a really quiet pump. I’ve yet to buy mine and fit it, will probably get it done nice for the summer. Will check out your web page and the FB page 👍👍👍😎
Do they? I'm 3 years in with mine, and my only complaint I've had is the pump! Swapped it out, and the issue has been resolved So I stand by what I said cheap and cheerful so far it's cost me less than £35 over the 3 years, Autotherm was an option when I was building the van. If I had installed that, it would have cost over £600 so £200 a year so far £35 against £200 wins every time Hope you're enjoying the channel thanks for the comment is always good to hear different opinions 👍
I have put a pump on mine and mounted it upright and it is silent now, they are more efficient and I had to slow the pump down, I never primed mine just turn it on.
We have an Eberspacher diesel heater mounted under the floor of our T5 and the blurb describes the pump as near silent, I can honestly say I’ve never heard the pump either inside or outside of the van, maybe try an Eberspacher pump.
Just got round to fitting mine as the original pump died. Mine is fitted in the same spot as yours, it now just dangles in mid-air on hd zip ties, the sound was resonating on the metal panel. Virtually silent.
There is only 1 silent pump for these things. They are (or were) made by an English gent named James Browning-Smith. They are $$$, but are literally dead silent and have an anti-siphon protection option. I just don't think any of these dosing pumps from China are ever going to be truly silent. In any case, thanks for the video. I didn't realize Ray Winstone was on YT. ;) Great to keep up on the state of things with these heaters. Sure can't beat the price of them, that's for sure.
Hi there, you wanted ideas for video content? I removed the plastic steps from the cab and found the common problem of worn out door seals, so loads of water under the plastic step causing rust. I bought two near cab door seals from Mercedes for £50 each. I have the various tools and paints to tackle the job. Would be interesting to take out the 3 screws holding you step in place and see if you have trapped water and hiding rust?
dose seem a lot quieter than the old one , and the light flicker happens in a lot of the motorhomes that have them mainly the adrias it drives ppl crazy
Hi, I’ve seen some people cover the pump in closed cell foam and as you say suspend it on hanging cable ties or weak rubber bands and use the hose in and out to control its direction / orientation. Yet to play with making my pump quiet in my all in one but it clicks loud and the frequency of the sound is half the battle. Corrosion wise, good quality stainless bands and wax oil might be the way to go. Take care M.
Good morning Sam, still following your videos, good work and good ideas 👍. I am nearly done with my sprinter conversion, hopefully, I have ticked all the boxes to register as a campervan from a van. I am looking for guidance/ assistance with the wiring to complete everything wondered if you could help? Let me know 👍
That's good to know, I have installed another RCD in the consumer unit giving a total of 4 - Mains input, and 3 sockets, working, I shall look at wiring the shower, toilet. water pump tomorrow.
Jesus, 17 mins of waffle to find the answer that should take 10 seconds.... useless. People just want the part number and place you bought it, and a before and after sound level comparison. Not 17 mins of sheit.
Why spend all that money on making a nice van to then cheap out on a diesel heater in the first place. Everybody mains about the noise or they aren’t great but everybody and his dog still buys them 🤦🏻♂️

Impressed, I'm getting one. Thanks for the video 👍
Glad I could help

To be honest when I looked back at the ad for the pump to see how much it was, it is sold as a ultra quite pump
Cheers Sam, all the best. 👍🚐😎
Same to you!

Fitted one of these not quite as annoying but not in anyway silent 😊
Sam, how about building a soundproof box for it to sit in…,thoughts ? Keep up the great content. 👌

Great Video fella it will be good to see if it is totally silent
We shall see
This reminds me, I'll have to fit mine, bought Feb last yr😂 tick tick boom

Thank you. Our new sump is a lot quieter than the previous one

one of the first jobs we did was to clean that area, great idea I will take a look as its been a few years now
I've got my pump in a plastic container with foam in it can't hear the ticking. The air flow coming out the vent is more of a pain.
dose seem a lot quieter than the old one , and the light flicker happens in a lot of the motorhomes that have them mainly the adrias it drives ppl crazy
I'm gonna find a fix for it mate
Don’t bolt the pump to anything but have it hanging on a strap instead of a bracket to stop resonance going through the van body
great tip

Apologies Sam...I couldn't help tapping the screen every time you thought it went quiet 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Interesting, 🫡
Amazon link not working, wonder which pump it is as it sounded useful if it's got a filter already in it.
sorry links will only work while the sellers have the item just search for silent pumps
Hi Sam i have an auto term night heater and the pump is silent and cant hear a thing
A quality product mate
Don’t bother priming it as it risks flooding the burn chamber. Just run it and if you get an E08 error cycle the power and turn it on again.
Me pump and filter inside camper, boxed in. Away from the elements, that was the reason why my pump is in the van. Clicking doesn't bother me dude.
You need to buy a proper not Chinese one to get it really quiet
hmmmmm what jind of video do we want , would naked skateboarding be to much
I'm on it 😂👍
My man

If you don't like what we do, don't watch it!
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife I didn't, I gave up after 30 secs of waffle. Your video failed to serve it's purpose.

The good ones a brilliant. All the Chinese ones are literally junk.
Cheap and cheerful and still going strong, it runs great now the quiet pump on and still only a fraction of the cost of the big named brands
@@TheCraftyBlindersvanlife it is cheap but not cheerful as everybody and his dog moans about them
