    Pleasantly surprised by your review. I’m holding out for your new formentor review, as I have my eye on one for next year. Thanks, as always, and keep up the excellent content!

    I wish this was available last year when I was looking to buy and SUV. I test drove the Formentor and loved it, but I needed something higher up. It's a beautiful looking thing, I'm probably going to get one as my next car in a couple of years though!

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  3 месяца назад

      It sure is a stunner!
      What did you buy, if not a Formentor?

    • @AnnieStandingNgai

      @@therightcar a Renault Austral (I'm in the UK, don't think they're available in Australia). It's lovely, but I'm not 100% sold on hybrid, no other engine options here though. We also have a Tiguan with the GTI engine and I love it, so will probably end up getting the same engine in the Terramar!

    MG HS will also have a PHEV version next year. So it may be good alternative to this.

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  3 месяца назад +3

      Could be, we'll have to see what it's priced at. Don't think it'll be quite as good to drive, though.

      @@therightcar True but there will be at least 15k difference between the PHEV versions of each car. Let's see. I'll wait for your reviews to find out 😁. I always look forward to and enjoy your reviews 👍

    FYI that is Chase from Paw Patrol in the console, not Marshall. Marshall is a Dalmatian.

    The Cupra Terramar is based on the same platform as the VW Tiguan and the Audi Q3. It even comes off the same assembly line as the Audi Q3. The two are therefore the main competitors. However, competitors also include vehicles such as the Renault Arkana, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan Quashqai, Kia Sportage and Volvo XC40 Greetings from Germany

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  2 месяца назад

      Just because they share a platform doesn’t mean those are the “best alternatives”, though. And market differences dictate what I said.

    • @sebastianhewelt2197
      @sebastianhewelt2197 2 месяца назад

      Arkana? Bro, i think you meant Renault Austral, the mid-size SUV. Arkana is a weird hybrid of a cheap-looking coupé/sedan

    Another great review, looking forward to the Tiguan one. I'm particularly interested in the more subtle differences between them, given their relation.
    While VW has lost their physique and developed a glossy-black-plastic habit, Cupra IMO have overdone the 'Predator' look on the Terramar and facelifted-Formentor.
    You certainly can't acuse Cupra of being boring, but there's a fine line between interesting and pretentious. They're boosted 4-cylinder SUVs, a compromise of fun and practical, that's all.
    I also wonder how quickly the strong styling elements will look dated. Hopefully it holds up more like the Arnie original did than the sequel with Gary Busey.
    Cupra's dealer & service coverage is also thinner than Volvo's, so if you're outside the biggest population centers it's not currently a pragmatic ownership prospect. Even if you're lucky and nothing goes wrong with it.
    I hope you enjoyed my glass half-empty of Cupra-Aid :)

    Hey matt, so you’re in Spain now lucky Man, are you enjoying the scenery😎 & some Spanish food😋. the brand is starting to grow on me. I see a lot at work even one of our customers let me test drive his one. It’s actually pretty good. Not a bad drive. The Terramar has a pretty good design. I don’t mind it. I like the interior & tech that comes with it. I’m looking at this and the new RAV4 that comes out next year. 🤔
