More female voice actors doesn't mean girl power and Aladdin was about a guy. Also its a fairy tale don't worry about their mental health and what their doing at a young age its not real life relax .
If you didn’t realize, when John Smith and Pocahontas touched, leave swirled around their hands. That was believed to break their speech barrier. As the talking tree said, “listen with your heart” Pocahontas was able to understand John Smith. Confusing, I know, but now you know.
In Cinderella she didn't even KNOW he was a prince. During the ball she assumed he was someone different and the prince had people from other kingdoms in attendance so he couldn't simply just remember once face after seeing hundreds all night. With beauty and the beast a spell was placed on the castle and the prince so nobody would remember that they once had a prince. You really ought to do more research into stories and movies.
That and it was the king who was looking for Cinderella not the prince. The king wanted grandchildren and Cinderella was the only women the prince showed any interest in.
I think the movie that they're mentioning is the live action adaptation of Cinderella- where after Fairy Godmother transforms her- Cinderella is concerned that her stepsisters and stepmother would recognize her, to which Fairy Godmother proceeds to reassure her by placing a spell on her that would allow no one to know her true identity.
Well Polynesia has multiple accents through Western influence. Moana has an American accent because Hawaii and American Samoa. But Moana's father and grandmother have that Brit-sounding accent because of New Zealand and territories like Cook Islands, Tokelau and Niue. So it would have been hard to choose.
Thank you hahah, I commented the same thing. I don't know where he got Italy from, except for the word "Corona" translating to "crown" in Italian (as well as in Spanish, though)...? so many problems with this video but i’ll just say this: as someone from Hawai’i, Moana DEFINITELY had an accent. A mild one, one that sounds like a lot of people here (not over exaggerated like some characters in Lilo & Stitch) but an accent. Auli’i did a great job!
The thing about BEauty and the beast is that the enchantress from the beginning places a curse to make everyone forget that a king ever existed, and it could only be broken if he found true love in time, so that makes total sense.
Did anyone else hear him say that Moana was from "polynesia"? No. Just me? That's not a thing... sort of. Polynesia is a mixture of all the different islands. Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, etc. They all are the Polynesian race with some different cultures. However he made it sounds as if it was just one place. But in the movie, they made sure to add cultures from each island since it has to do with them all. But, the girl who voiced Moana, Auli'i Cravalho, is actually from the island of hawaii. She does have the islander accent, but that island is also surrounded by Americans. So the accent kind of dies a bit if you are raised around an American accent. So Moana may not properly sound right, but she is voiced by the right person.
The live action version of Beauty & the Beast explains why no one remembers the prince or the castle in the forest. The enchantress cast a memory spell
For the beast one I think it had something to do with the curse he got put on him because after Belle said I love you, everyone suddenly got their memory back in the live action version of the movie
To be fair Aladdin was mainly about Aladdin and the genie and Jasmine wasn’t even at the start of the movie and the bad guy was also a man because it made sense and there was the king which having him made sense to the story too. Honestly it really wouldn’t have made sense for female characters to have had like even 30% dialog as it would have been all Jasmine and the movie wasn’t even about her. Not against women or anything just stating the facts.
Watso Videos made a Cinderella theory a while back. He thinks the fairy godmother purposely let the glass slippers stay behind after midnight because she knew they were Cinderella's ticket to freedom.

In the new live-action Beauty and the Beast, we learn that when the enchantress cursed the beast, she also erased all memory of the beast and all those who lived in the castle, meaning Lumier, Cogsworth, Mrs.Potts, etc.
Yes but alladin is about alladin so alladin would have more dialogue than his female counterpart. Giving the main characters and American accent actually makes it easier to differentiate between them and other characters Pocahontas speaks in English because the studio is English so are the audience and the script.
Pocahontas and John Smith do not instantly understand each other. Grandmother Willow told her to listen with her heart to understand him. It was the magic of the forest that helped them understand. Miko and Flit were very surprised at this.
Don't forget that Mulan came from a fairly happy home. In Pocahontas, they made a big point of her being able to understand John Smith because she Listened With Her Heart. Wouldn't work in real life.
I’ve heard it suggested that Cinderella’s glass slippers didn’t disappear because they were the only thing MADE by magic. Everything else (the dress, mice to horses, pumpkin to carriage, etc) was only altered.
In Beauty and the Beast, the whole town was cursed too. Everyone was forced to relive the same day over and over. So they never realized the castle was in shambles. If you want to nitpick anything, it would be that Belle and her father managed to remember each day differently after they met the Beast. But that's what that whole song was about. Each day felt boring and mundane because each day was literally the same day for the past 9ish years
Cinderella's God mother made her face unrecognizable so her mean family wouldn't recognize her at the ball. So once the magic wore off no one would have been able to tell who the "princess in blue" was.
The only reason why Brave makes more sense than the others, is cuz shes Pixar. Pixar is more realistic in terms of emotional aspects and depth of perception , as opposed to disney where everything is magic and "just because "
Beast’s curse is why the village forgot about him, Pocahontas and John Smith couldn’t immediately communicate, and Moana wasn’t happy with her life trapped on land.
In Pocahontas, there's a scene where the wind blows past both John Smith and Pocahontas while Grandmother Willow talks and it's implied that nature used some kind of magic to allow them to communicate. And this is coming from a guy that hasn't watched that movie in years.
Her crystal heels kept the same because the fairy godmother told that everything would go back to "normal" what it was before, at midnight , but her heels are the only thing that the godmother made it from "nothing", for example, her dress was made from another dress, the horses from mices etc, but the shoes just magically appeared so since they were always shoes, they would stay the same
In beauty and the beast, the sorceress who cast the curse also made it so that kingdoms people don't remember the Prince in order to punish him. So the whole thing with how Pocahontas can understand John Smith is from the wind and spirits. At first meeting she looks confused until that gust of wind blows in her face and rustles her hair.
There's an entire scene in Pocahontas showing that they don't understand each other and then some magic wind comes around and they can suddenly. It doesn't make sense, of course, but neither does talking to trees.
In the Beauty and the Beast live action movie, the film added that when the witch cursed the prince she made it that no one in France would remember him and anyone that worked / lived there
One massively good answer to all of these questions. BECAUSE IT DISNEY FILMS ARE MADE FOR KIDS!!!! The only people who would analyse a KIDS films like this are Adults who think waaaaaaaaay too much about it!
Forgetting the beast has a valid point but that was explained in the live action adaptation. The movie said that the witch set a spell that everyone that knew the prince and the workers would forget them
They’re asking why the townspeople in Beauty and the Beast don’t remember the beast, but that’s part of the storyline, lmao. When the witch curses the Prince to become a beast, she also changes everyone in his castle to turn into other things, as well as removes the townspeople’s memories of the Princes past. The townspeople are not supposed to remember the beast or show him any form of familiarity or kindness, as part of the witch’s curse upon him. That’s why they’ve no memory of the Beast at all.
In Cinderella, the problem is not the fact that the slippers didn't change (coz the fairy godmother gave them to her as a gift) but that the prince was looking for who the shoe fits. Like why didn't he just look for the person that had the other shoe? How many people could possibly own shoes made of glass?
The Beauty and the Beast one makes sense. It's told that part of the spell makes everyone, but people that worked for the prince, forget that he ever existed, and that the people that worked for him ever existed. Then at the end of the movie, and when they all remember each other, there's reunions between people.
Its been long but here is an explanation and answers for these questions - elsa and moana are not considered pricesses as they are not even in their stories. Elsa is already a queen with moana already being chief. - the fairu godmothers words were "everything will turn back to normal" hence why everything turned back. But the slippers were made from pure magic and not something else made from another thing. - the beast was forgotten because the spell included the people forgetting them. - the time ariel didnt write is simply due to the fact that at that time period she didnt ask for anything to write on. Not only that but it was common for some women to not know how to read or write at that time so everybody just thought it.
1:57. its because they're the newer Disney Princesses. and since they're newer they're basically everywhere on lunch boxes, book bags and socks! so really it would be appropriate to add Moana, Elsa, and Anna in this film.
One advantage to Elsa's powers for her people is that the kingdom is pretty secure from hostile nations since she can just freeze any fleet or army trying to invade.
8:12 - The witch's curse was powerful enough to polymorph an entire castle and its residents, and leave a timer of [exact number not mentioned] years before making the change permanent. I'm pretty sure the condition of the surrounding lands was much more inviting before the curse, as well. Is it really so farfetched to think she also wiped the prince and his retinue from the collective memory of his serfs? As for the rest... yeah, weird.
Also in Beauty and the Beast, no one remembered because of the spell that was cast. After Belle broke that spell, every got their memory back of the ppl in the castle. Some of the ppl in the castle had family members in the town but they are forgotten after the spell.
The prince from beauty and the beast was probably sent away to a random castle for "safe keeping" in case the royal family was murdered and the land would be left with a ruler
If you watch the live action beauty and the beast, it explains that when the prince was made a beast, the whole land was put under a spell that made everyone forget the prince and his kingdom.
In "beauty and the beast" its not selected memories that makes the villagers forget about Adam but the curse. If you'll see the end of the movie again, you'll see that as soon as the curse broken they're remembering him.
You know what doesn't make sense. At the end of wreck it wralph, vanelope says that she would rather consider herself as a president, then on the 2nd she just decided to call herself a princess again.
The reason pocahontas was able to speak and understand was because her father was the chief and the wife of the chief is usually the spirit medium meaning she would be next in line. Her connection with the spirits gave her what she needed to communicate... But, this was not the original story so yea
Even though women talk less is the movies made in the 90s, what they’re saying is more powerful for women. Snow White talks more than Belle, sure, but Snow White talks about waiting for a prince to save her while Belle talks about wanting more in life and wanting adventure.
I can imagine a pitch meeting for a movie. I want to make a princess character who just wants to learn and not fall in love and live happily ever after sounds real entertaining.
In "Beauty and the Beast" the Beast and his servants are cursed by an enchantress and she also made everyone in the land forgot about them as explained in the live adaptation
The reason they forget beast was because in the spell it transformed characters and made people forget so they aren’t confused about why he’s gone, and isn’t throwing more parties. I read the book. (And am obsessed with Emma Watson (Harry Potter).)
They marry young which is accurate to the time periods. And in Pocahontas John does say "you don't understand me, do you?". They obviously had language barriers but in a kids film watching them overcome it would take too long
The reason why Mulan and Merida are princesses is because they where a dress[ at least in one moment of the movie] and they have a sidekick [ or 3 baby bears ]
If I choose a nitpicky princess thing that doesn't matter to anyone but me...Aurora looks so much better in her blue dress, and I'm mad the pink is the official one. I suppose it's because they usually do Cinderella's as blue, because it's easier than doing the silver she wore in the film, but Aurora looked damn good in blue.
Just love your channel always so creative and fresh. I am inspired by you guys and trying to pursue my passion. Hope to get support and love to be motivated :)
Mulan is pretending to be a guy in an army filled with nothing but guys... I can't say it's a shocker that most of the dialogue is from men... Also, as mentioned, Jasmine is not the main character of Aladdin, and she lives in a male-dominated society, so, again, not a surprise about the dialogue. Ariel literally can't speak for a chunk of her movie, so... Also, do Polynesians have an accent? My sister-in-law from Hawaii doesn't. Rapunzel has a TV show detailing what she's been up to since her movie, with her learning about life and herself. No mention of that?
“Beauty and the Beast”: The Beast isn’t recognized because, according to the 2017 live-action remake, once he was cursed, So was the rest of the area. Everyone accept those who served in the castle ended up with amnesia at the onset of the curse.
Another thing to keep your minds occupied: Since Disney acquired Marvel, even Marvel movies have been suspiciously parent-less. Of course, Iron man etc was before they acquired Marvel but still, think about it, most of our heroes have no parents. Those who do, tragically lose them sometime during the course of the movies. Thor, Iron Man, Peter Quill, Gamora and Nebula, and everyone else already didn’t have parents before the movies began. Fishy smh?
I just realized most atleast 80% of Disney princesses are teens and they get married pretty quick. So 1) they're all super young but I guess that's how it used to work And 2) they fall inline but hardly knew the person usually
Moana's voice actress is a native Polynesian and so is Maui's voice actor. With Cinderella or any older disney animation movie when thing were expensive and everything was hand drawn small details that are added now were glossed over and not drawn like ears or finger nails.
The movie Aladdin was about the male character. Not the female one. Its literally named after the male character
Alpha males FTW

But, this was not the original story so yea
Even though women talk less is the movies made in the 90s, what they’re saying is more powerful for women. Snow White talks more than Belle, sure, but Snow White talks about waiting for a prince to save her while Belle talks about wanting more in life and wanting adventure.
I can imagine a pitch meeting for a movie. I want to make a princess character who just wants to learn and not fall in love and live happily ever after sounds real entertaining.
Ariel losing her voice was a plot point in The Little Mermaid and Aladdin was about the male character.
With the fairies spell in beauty and the beast it also made ALL the village forget about the castle
The Alladin movie is not about Jasmine... Its about Alladin's happy ending 😒😒😒
They marry young which is accurate to the time periods. And in Pocahontas John does say "you don't understand me, do you?". They obviously had language barriers but in a kids film watching them overcome it would take too long
Rapunzel is from somewhere around Germany, how can you get that sooo wrong?
Well, the witch that cursed the Prince and turned him into a Beast, also cursed the Townspeople. They cleared that up in the live action retelling.
This should really be called "Top 10 over analyzing theories copied from channels that over analyze things in movies!"
The reason why Mulan and Merida are princesses is because they where a dress[ at least in one moment of the movie] and they have a sidekick [ or 3 baby bears ]
Lmao I think Merida qualifies legitimately but yeah Mulan it must be the dress.
Repunzel is from Germany...NOT Italy FYI 💕
If I choose a nitpicky princess thing that doesn't matter to anyone but me...Aurora looks so much better in her blue dress, and I'm mad the pink is the official one. I suppose it's because they usually do Cinderella's as blue, because it's easier than doing the silver she wore in the film, but Aurora looked damn good in blue.
So are we all just going to pretend you didn’t steal this from film theory?
Hey here’s a bright idea for Disney how about a movie about a movie about a prince who searches for a true love
No mention of that?
them: Princes help fight off all the bad guys
me: hans cant fight himself
Hans is the bad guy 😂
Elsa, Ana, and Moana might not be recognized, but money is...
In the book version of beauty and the beast it explains that the village forgetting about the beast was part of the spell
Why did it take Belle’s father a whole night to get to the castle, while it took the people of village 5 steps to get there?!
“Beauty and the Beast”: The Beast isn’t recognized because, according to the 2017 live-action remake, once he was cursed, So was the rest of the area. Everyone accept those who served in the castle ended up with amnesia at the onset of the curse.
Pocahontas had help to listen with her heart and understand from Grandmother Willow. If you were a true Disney fan, you'd know
Another thing to keep your minds occupied: Since Disney acquired Marvel, even Marvel movies have been suspiciously parent-less. Fishy smh?
Part of the spell in beauty and the beast is that the town folk forget about the monarchy
The townspeople's from Beauty and the Beast don't know about the beast bc part of the witches spell said that he would be forgotten about
I just realized most atleast 80% of Disney princesses are teens and they get married pretty quick.
So 1) they're all super young but I guess that's how it used to work
And 2) they fall inline but hardly knew the person usually
Just watch film theory he explain everything about how Disney pick princess
Another thing about Disney princesses that doesn't make sense, they are all abnormally skinny. Just take a quick look at Ariel and you'll understand.
Moana's voice actress is a native Polynesian and so is Maui's voice actor.
With Cinderella or any older disney animation movie when thing were expensive and everything was hand drawn small details that are added now were glossed over and not drawn like ears or finger nails.
Unless I am mistaken, the live-action version of beauty in the beast cleared up that business about why no one knew about the beast and his castle…
