- The 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series was an FIA sanctioned international motor racing series for V8 Supercars. It was the fourteenth V8 Supercar Championship Series and the fourteenth series in which V8 Supercars have contested the premier Australian touring car title. The championship began on 19 February in the Middle East at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit and concluded on 5 December at the Homebush Street Circuit. These events were held in all states of Australia and in the Northern Territory as well as in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and New Zealand. The 51st Australian Touring Car Championship title was awarded to the winner of the Drivers Championship by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.
James Courtney won the Drivers Championship for Dick Johnson Racing by 65 points from Jamie Whincup in the final race of the season at the 2010 Sydney Telstra 500. Championship Team of the Year was awarded to Triple Eight Race Engineering and Champion Manufacturer of the Year to Holden.

I'm only a casual fan of V8 Supercars but I love this era, my fave for sure. Not just for Supercars, but Touring Car Racing in general. Just something about this era where the cars are quite modern but also considered reasonably classic.
Falcon v Commodore is great to watch.

I could watch that race over and over and over. Cause that is one of the greatest race in supercars history imo
I remember standing at that corner in the rain and seeing the crunch, crunch, crunch. Next year there was a grandstand at that corner.

I was 8, at our old caravan, 25 people all under the one roof, absolutely pissing it down, everyone major Holden fans, Courtney goes in the fence and the room erupts, the other 2 go in the fence and the room is louder. This was an amazing race to watch, it's the one race I vividly remember watching, even over the Bathurst races the environment that I was watching in alone was so iconic

Driver interviews aren't really the same when you can't actually hear what the drivers are saying. . .
I know your comment is a month old, but I'm guessing that would be because the audio copyright to the interviews might belong to Channel Seven, given all the "7 Sport" logos on the microphones and everything. If so, then Supercars wouldn't be able to use it because they're currently under a TV deal with Ten - the commentary + race audio might belong to Supercars instead of the broadcaster. Just a wild guess but sounds plausible.

As an American I will never understand why we like NASCAR instead of V8 Supercars. This is some of the best racing I've ever seen and people keep sleeping on it!
I completely agree. I've been watching the whole backlog of V8 Supercars the last year and it's insanity. This is up there with CART in the mid 90's/00's. Commentary is brilliant too, so passionate.

For those just passing by, it's worth watching from 1:18:00 after the safety car, the racing is insanely good... courtney and whincup going full send in rain on slick tyres, twitching and wheelspinning everywhere, the mind games.. ppl don't appreciate just how insane this is with 1.5tonne car, no driver aids, 3 pedals heel-toeing and clutching, locked diff, metric fuckton of torque on a street with painted lines everywhere and massive pressure from racing your championship rival lol

this is a weird version without driver interviews or the lap counters and whatnot. Just curious if anyone knows why this is
I'm assuming this has something to do with this being an old Channel 7 broadcast with outdated sponsors and graphics
The lap counter I think was because of a timing glitch during the race.
The inteveiws will be channel seven property "technically". And I'm assuming that's also why it kept going quiet in the safety car periods

Right at the start when Whincup was hounding Holdsworth, the commentator pointed out when they're that close on a street circuit "the guide is the car in front, if Holdsworth makes a mistake, you make a mistake with him."
Well, it wasn't Holdsworth two hours later, but that was prophetic nonetheless.

More than likely this is the SAT feed so we wouldn’t get any of channel 7s broadcast. Same reason you have silence during interviews and commercial breaks

The commentators said nothing about the two photographers than nearly got crushed by the two walkenshaw cars coming together exhiting pit lane
If ANY Bathurst race deserves to be posted in full on the channel, it has to be 2006, for sure. 2002 with the infamous 5 minute penalty is a candidate too. Not sure they'll add 1000's from before the Supercars era.
The 2007 and 2014 Bathurst 1000s were pretty good too

Couple days ago I remember that I played this champioship on ps2 (Toca Driver) and I found yesterday V8 Supercars channel on RUclips and guess what, yesterday I searched some good race to introduce me to this sport and I watched this video. My reaction was unbelieveble, pure racing! Now i want follow and watch this sport but problem is my location. I am from Croatia, Does anybody know where can I watch this on internet, i will be pleased if i can watch even full replay race because of my time zone. Please tell me. :')
If you don’t live in AU or Nz you can watch all sessions for current season on supercars website. Costs $60au per season.

I was there for that race, and only seeing the full race for the first time lol. was very dissapointed though, sydney advertising stated a party atmosphere but zero entertainment of any kind after racing!
