Thats a decent looking ducky for 30 years old, great hull shape and console seat set up. When you were taking on the surf break beam on I found myself leaning in my chair trying to stop it flipping. Exciting stuff, the fish you got to the boat looks like a fish we get here in South Australia called a Mulloway, or also a Butterfish (that was what they called them in the old fish and chip shop days. We get some monster ones here when the run is on. Elsewhere here in Oz they call them Jew fish. I couldn't get a decent look at it but from what I can see it looks exactly like a Mulloway
Clearly you know your boat and the waters better than most. Would love to experience fishing for kob in the surf zone off a boat. Not with my boat though, Im way to cautious
You say the summer was full of on shore winds. Does the autumn and winter bring off shore winds like Australia’s east coast. Love the autumn and winter here.
Haha thats line failure you chop... Work on the knots I showed you, inspection 2pm🤣For those who dont know thats 6kg or 12lb IGFA class line nylon thats been abused too long.. My bad!
Man i enjoy these videos of yours! I'm busy sorting out a little duck for myself, although KZN fishing is a little different to Jbay. If fishing was easier all these okes moaning about it being dangerous or that you shouldn't be doing it alone would also be out there😅😅
Thanks they will be better with some nice fish.. Conditions improving so hang in there for the real stuff. Good luck with the zodiac yeah KZN doesnt work like down here but plenty other stuff on back line.. Will target some Garrick here this week..
I think its much safer to just find a pinnacle past backline and drift or throw an anchor. Only a matter of time before you are tits up trying to fish that way. Other than that a great channel and miss the exotic surf and fishing expeditions you have experienced. Kinda jealous i never had the opportunity.Do you get couta and snoek and dorado and tuna so far down.? Or is it mainly bottom fish and yellowtail.
Been doing this for years so check the earlier episodes. Problem has been very messy onshore seas.. We get tuna and most pelagics but deep 30 miles offshore.. Season is now.. Hopefully a few episodes when this weather sorts itself out..
very jealous, have my eye on a small boat too. But I am super careful of the chances I'd take, my dad had two boats and we rescued capsised boats more than once.@@oceanadventures365
great episode ! watching you watch the water was fascinating!
If it was bar coded..
Another good one Trevor👍
Better when the fish around but thks!
hey man I so enjoy your videos. I love the sea

Yip correct we get big one s here over 100lb too. Also good runs.. Zodiac going for a re tube shortly.. Its done🙈
I'm getting good mulloway in the surf here in Australia 👍
Also a few Taylor/bluefish so hopefully this coming winter the fishing is on fire!

Awesome

Summer onshore normally 50% but this year been about 80%. Winter offshore probably 80% and hence our surf season with big cold fronts..
A bad day fishing still beats the alternative!
Hard luck bud you win some you loose some but come around at the shop I'll show you a proper knot😂😅😂

Capsize got me sucked in. Remembering the incident in Panama ? With your bra, captain Colin of Parlay Revival. Lucky and unlucky at the same time ? 😂
Don't go on your own it's dangerous.
Too late been doing it forever🙈
anytime you are in white breakers you are i an position to get knocked over in the blink of an eye... a bit of a reckless sport that for a small boat.
Too much fun and very effective for catching Cob.. Just slow at moment wait till its on..
