So nice being able to listen to this album commercial free. It’s been a very, _VERY_ long time since I listened to this album in full (finding this CD in my library would be like finding a needle in a haystack lol) - I forgot what a masterpiece it is. This record is so underrated! There’s only one song that I skip really. Heavy Metal Machine. Just not my cuppa. Thanks for posting!
This was supposed to be a 2 disc concept album (with a narrative, a rock opera of sorts) but the record company didn't want to release it that way. But good news, after more than 20 years it will finally be released soon as the double album it was supposed to be 😘

Since 2011 Billy Corgan has been working on reissuing the Smashing Pumpkins albums, remastered and with bonus content. He's been doing it chronologically, so he started with Gish which came out in 2011 all the way up to Adore in 2014. They were the original albums, but remastered. Added to that each time were bonus discs with outtakes, demo versions, some cool remixes, live material and a dvd with live concert. It could get quite luxurious, Adore is a 6 cd + 1 dvd set. When Adore came out in 2014, Billy said that for the next release, Machina he wanted to do something special and release is as originally intended (as I said). For me that would be the pot of gold: the previous reissue albums were the same, but Machina wasn't just going to reconstruct the version we've all been waiting for... But then misfortune struck and the record company that was holding the rights of the Smashing Pumpkins catalogue was sold and the new owners wouldn't grant Billy access. Imagine that, for a second time Billy's Machina vision was sabotaged! But after a number of (far too many) years he finally was able to strike a deal and get access to all the material and he has been working on the reconstruction for quite some time. The big question indeed is when will it get released, for the last (at least) 2 years fans thought we were getting it soon, but word (on the official youtube channel, if I remember correctly) is that a release date has now been set, eventhough they're keeping the official date still a secret. But if not this year then I bet next year. Sure, we still have to wait a little but I've been waiting at least since 2014 when Corgan told he wanted to release it in the form of his uncompromised vision, so I can wait a little longer 🍻
We are so lucky to have grown up with bands as legendary as The Smashing Pumpkins. Blessed.
