- Hi! Today we're going to get a close look at Agent 4261's beautiful, original 1965 Chevrolet Impala 4 door hardtop. It's running it's original 283 2 barrel that has never been apart or out of the car. The paint is also 90+% original, and the car has only had 3 owners from new. Cold War Motors loves untouched cars, and this old Chev is a real treat to drive and ride in. It's running the original Powerglide transmission, freshly rebuilt, and a set of 15 inch American mag wheels. Dual exhaust sounds great, and so does the original AM radio. It's got power steering and brakes, and the interior is like new!
Let's go for a spin...
Easily one of the best-looking 4 door cars ever made. That it's survived and still looks that "new" is truly amazing.
Detail Dave has treasure here
a real beauty !
I'm in highschool and I drive this exact model;)
you must've been the coolest kid in the school
Fuck that I’d drive me a coupe! sedan sucks ass! Well shit I got a coupe 283 ss
@@tomcruise7820 Disrespectful
Love the "neutral whine" of the Powerglide...I have the same sound in my 66 Corvair Monza 4 door hardtop...
One of our neighbors had the same version in Madeira maroon and black interior. Always nice to look at.
Looks pretty damn good for an original! The front vent windows on my father's '53 Pontiac Chieftain had crank handles, too.
I owned a 1965 Impala with a 283 and a/c. It was a great crusing car.
I love how there are cars like this... I like to hear the starting sound of this and it sounds beautiful... but I think they should bring back beautiful cars like this
One of my favorite brand of cars
Details Dave! Beautiful car
I recently found one of these in the woods on a person I know's property, It's currently at my house and I'm restoring it! I'm only 15 and taking a lot of advice from the older car guys in my town, people that'd been working on these cars since the 1960s and 70s. This video makes me so excited for the moment my own Impala will start up!
Great stuff! All the best with your Impala! Cheers...
Thank you so much! Cheers!
how's it coming?
methus57 It’s stripped down, but managing to make enough money to get parts and tools is almost impossible. Every time I earn it something on my truck breaks, thats the trouble with driving old vehicles I guess huh?
The moment came, finally, it's running!
Mine was in red, inside and out. It was just as clean and original as that one. It didn't sit as high as that one did though, maybe it's the aftermarket wheels . It was quiet and smooth, like riding a magic carpet. Loved that car. Someone plowed into it while parked on the street at my work. I still have the red checked scarf that went across the dashboard. Had it not been totalled, I bet it would still be with me now.
Early '65's (built prior to Feb 15) all sat higher in the front end.
Thanks for sharing, I never forgave my husband for selling my car without my permission.
My Dad had a '65 Impala 4 door hardtop back in the day.....Two tone paint ....Crocus yellow with ermine white roof ....283 with 3 speed manual
He traded it for a new vehicle in 1973 and later regretted not keeping the 65
It's got about 144000 miles on it. Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks for making all these videos I really appreciate them
My Hero... thank you Cold war' s moters love you Guys.. you Rock 😎
Im in Australia and wish I could have one of these I saw the car in the TV show the middle it was the oldest sons in that TV show.
Also my grandparents had one in the 70s my mom says
Very nice! If that car has spent its entire life in Canada, then it's truly miraculous that it's got the original paint with no rust! Very sweet!
A friend in high school had one. I remember we'd squeeze EIGHT skinny teenagers in it and go cruizing. That thing was huge!
Beauty! I had a few old SLipNSlides in various GM's in my early teens.
You'd get a head of steam up in first gear, then it would shift - and you'd dang
near hit your head on the steering wheel from the nose-over. 🙂
Great cars to learn on though.

The car is beautifully preserved. Congrats to Agent 4261.
Those old impalas are awesome winter cars.
Drove a 1964 Impala during high school and we would beat the heck out of that 283.
We often went drift banging in the winter and got that engine bay so packed you could not even hear the engine run.
When I popped the hood all you could see was the top of the air cleaner and everything else was covered.
Car worked great but it was definitely not a powerhouse and having a broken engine mount made for a fairly exciting time when the throttle would stick wide open lol!
GREETINGS FROM A FELLOW CANADIAN IN ONTARIO! VERY NICE 1965 IMPALA! MY FAMILY AND I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT ALL YEARS OF IMPALAS THROUGH THE YEARS! IMPALAS AND CAMAROS ARE MY FAVORITE CHEVROLETS! I OWN A 2015 CAMARO STYLED AFTER THE 1969 CAMARO NOW, BUT IF I COULD RIGHT NOW, I WOULD OWN AN IMPALA SS HARDTOP SPORT COUPE OR CONVERTIBLE FROM THE 1962-1969 MODEL YEARS WITH ONE OF THE 4 BARREL V8S OFFERED WITH DUAL EXHAUSTS! LOOKS GOOD FOR AN ORIGINAL 1965 IMPALA HARDTOP SPORTS SEDAN! I LOVE THE MAG WHEELS & DUAL EXHAUSTS YOU ADDED TO YOUR IMPALA! I WILL DO THE SAME THING WHEN I BUY ANOTHER IMPALA! TAKE CARE AND ALL THE BEST! 😊😁😎😍👍👌🤘✌
And now we know why he his Detail Dave. What an immaculate car.
I love the 283
bill thompson Best motor ever made
Wow a rare car indeed. I remember a family friend having one back in around 1965 or 66. The amazing thing is that was in Sierra Leone in Africa! I must have been about 7 years old but remember travelling in the back seat of that Impala all those years ago .
Beautiful car. ❤❤️✌️😎👍 cheers Scott.
Thanks for checking it out! More Studebaker vids coming soon...
Very nice, a original 1965, can't get much better then that.
283 with power-glide and power-steering, sweet !
carry on my wayward son
MrDeadlyMatt there will be peace when you are gone
That's a 67
It looks exactly like the one that was our family car that my Dad bought new. Same engine, color, everything except ours had dog dish hub caps.
Beautiful car.
pretty car, looks great for a 4 door too, most 4 doors don't look that seamless to me,but this year, Chevy got it perfect.
Born in 1960, that's also my favorite year of Impala/Belair. Have a real soft spot for these cars of any year, but you should try to find a 60, its an incredible car, right down to the dashboard.
The old Impala is in remarkable condition for it's age. I thought my 64 Chevy II was pretty good but this Impala beats it.
dont see too many nice survivors like that anymore...great car
You can't beat the old cars.
what a beautiful car! Cant beat the classics!
That's a real sweet and unmolested ride, sounds great! Even if my original AM radio would still work, there isn't much to listen to since AM is almost dead here in Germany...
Coming up quick! I've got several almost ready...
My Dad had this car-great ride! Noting went wrong..except that Powerglide transmission
Beautiful Car love the originality of it.
That is super nice - along with the '32 and '57, my nominees for best looking Chev.
Chevrolet in a fantastic shape ....
Incredible car Dave...must have been used just enough over the years to keep everything functioning.
I had a 2 Dr Impala not an SS but I wish I never would have sold it. These Impala's go for a pretty penny even for a rust bucket.
Super nice car.
Your buddy's car is pretty nifty by far.
Beautiful Impala. Always loved the 283, great little engine. What ever happened to the Studebaker you saved from the crusher?
Funny watching this again, car is so original that there's no rear view mirror...
Wow that thing sounds and looks great . Does it have a stock muffler or mufflers ? Because it sounds really good whatever it has ..great video
Mufflers are a local Alberta, Can brand called FLO PRO. Were on car when I bought in '02
Feels like watching old 1960's Bond movies. Sean Connery's and Roger Moore's starring.
One of my favorite years 60's Impalas (62,63,65 and 67). Does he have the original wheels and hub caps? Just a great example - thanks for sharing.
never been a big 4 door guy, but this 65 looks like a big 2 door. pretty
Your car is in better shape than my 2003 silverado
Sounds and looks beautiful! Needs valve guide seals though. She smokes a bit when he first started then cleared.
Beautiful car!
sweet ride
very nice
the best thing is the Power glide transmission....that is t he finest the world has ever seen !!
Four speeds are more fun to drive
❤beautiful
When is your next vid
I hate mags on old muscle cars.
He should have put steel rims on with stock hub caps. With mags on, it's just a nicely restored old car. With stock hub caps on, it becomes a time machine!
Bias ply's and factory caps installed in '18, now running factory spoke/spinners.
Very nice.
SUPERNATURAL!!
Dean's car is actually a 1967
nice video Kermit
@jonny60991 The exhaust is an aftermarket dual set-up, on the car when I bought it in '02. It has 145,000+miles, with, no kidding, original paint.
Cherry Impala!! ,,,can i use a litle bit of this in a music clip im making?,,,if not np,,,,Great post!!
Stunning automobile. Chevrolet could do no wrong, back then. My childhood friend's Mother had one just like it. What Bewitched might have had parked in her driveway. (show was sponsored by Chevy)Your affinity for 4 door cars is rubbing off, on all of us. Screw all these high priced 2 door hard-tops. (except for my 1964 Olds 98 2 dr hdtp. ) ha!Noticed Stella was not allowed to ride in this one.JT
i love this 4 door hard top chevy. beautiful, and i hate 4 door classics
Very pleasing styling. I think it looks better than the tri-5s.
Very beautifull color
Danube Blue. My first car
The blue interior truly is complimentary here
nice
My Dads first car 😓😓😓😓..... 65 Impala, 3000 dollars... (in 1965)....
I would stay with the factory hub caps
Agree. With a set of narrow band white walls...
Sweet
Are those cars and this one especially with automatic transmission or with a stick shift ?
the dj on the 65s radio said Winnipeg. where are you at from Winnipeg?
I am originally from Winnipeg, ironically, but the station is Alberta, Can based.
I think the engine is modified and alloy wheels were not there during 1960's which is also modified.
Engine is entirely original. Head was off once just to reseal, but engine has never been out of the car. Currently has 162,000 miles and literally runs like the proverbial sewing machine; idles smoothly and quietly. I try to keep things as original as possible and shun " made in Mexico/China" parts. Low beam T-3 headlights are nos from '72 as is the air filter, for example.
Engine is original as my 65 Chevrolet super sport has a 283 and is left all original and looks like that and yes those wheels aren’t original but the car is original wheels don’t matter.
Original right down to the single master cylinder as it should be
Gd old car
BE VERY CAREFULL WITH THAT TIME MACHINE.. IF YOU SAY ITS ALL ORIGINAL THEN IT SHOULD BE DRIVEN VERY LIGHTLY AND CAREFULLY AND BE STORED INDOORS FOR WINTER.. NOT IN A CRUSTY OLD BARN I HOPE.. HEATED UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE WITH JACKSTANDS AND ALL THE CARE IT NEEDS ..GREAT CAR
No fears. Always stored indoors and only driven on nice days.
Yeah..I wrecked "my baby blue" in a ice storm...
My Artesian turquoise with aqua interior 1965 caught fire late one night.
Old classic cars are not allowed to drive in my country due to pollution norms set by Govt. Be thankful for your Country's Govt as old cars are allowed there.
Governments usually don't get it. Driving an old car does more for the environment just on the basis of maintaining it and NOT buying new and using the earth's resources to turn out new cars year after year.
Just curious what is the tire size on it?
Sizes were 205-15 front and 225-15 rear. Was originally ordered with oversized 15 inch tires/hd suspension. Replaced with 14 inchBF Goodrich Silvertown bias plies and wheelcovers in 2018, and currently have a set of original '64-'66 spinner/spoke caps.
legitimate
*cough*
This is total pornography for the eyes.
Ha! We've used the "car porn" label more than once!
You should check out my video it's called my rusty 57 chevy hotrod
Too bad its a 4 door 🙄
Just the fact that you clicked on means that it must have attracted you, right? It would be a pretty dull world if only 2 doors and convertibles were at car shows. I've never understood the bias. Coupes are fine but if you notice, the hardtop sedan has a sharp cut design which gives it a very 'sexy' profile. And it's different! That can't be all bad.
Honestly I hate 4 doors but what attracted me is that it sounds like my 65 283! That’s only why I love that car but not my type.
@@rever65 no the coupe has that sleek fast back roof which is super sexy!
@@rever65 only good thing about this sedan is the sound. Sounds like my impala
@@tomcruise7820 Keep your mind open. You did bother to click on and watch the video. Most don't feel 4 door hardtops are bad enough to hate, at least judging from all of the positive comments I have gotten in almost 20 years of ownership. Even had a guy run out of a bar one night chasing me screaming, "I LOVE YOUR CAR!"
nice
