my god this game is so underrated .
Just as much as the new Hitman is overrated.
New Hitman is overrated? It sold so little that it didn't even pay for what Square Enix paid for the production of the game, and Square Enix cut their agreement with IOI.
Emre Benek New hitman name is terrible . They should changed it, hitman 2 lol
TheAnimationEz is this game hard
Absolution was a great change the game needed, I loved blood money and contracts the most but for some reason absolution makes me nostialgic and i wanna re play it....I loved the mechanics, AI response, Graphics , story (especially the nuns mission)...The mission were way too better than playing those plane kill-a-target only missions of rest of the games....However I do gotta admit the checkpoint system and map display sucked...totall 9.7 game for me! They should definetly make Absolution 2 with minor changes in gameplay...no wondwr why Absolution was their best seller!

You know someone is a damn fine musician when they go from classical soaring operatic pieces in one game to Electronica in the next and it feel familiar yet totally fresh.
I love the music in the new games but holy hell; this man captured what it WAS to be 47 sonically so perfectly it hurts.
Damn you hit the right spot.
The whole soundtrack kicks ass! Idk I’ve never really paid attention to video game music all that often. I usually don’t think about it but this menu theme along with 47 sitting in the dark just creates such an eerie feeling.
Jesper Kyd ❤
Such a great menu and theme. It really sets the tone of the game. I miss Jesper Kyd so much.
I had to Google to make sure he's still alive.
This is Kyd's best soundtrack, without a doubt.
@@Sam-K Agreed. Contracts OST is burned into my soul.

Hitman's soundtrack went WAAAAAAAY down the hill after his departure from the series.
man i wish todays hitman games still had the creepy aesthetic of the originals. traditions of the trade and the meat kings party missions traumatized my 13 year old ass
One can make the argument that this is the greatest Hitman game of all time. For me, it is.
Indeed.
For me every Hitman game has something unique to offer. Codename 47 for it's more shooting oriented gameplay and unique rating system (kill any enemies but no police/civilians or lose all your money), Silent Assassin for it's epic, somewhat heroic story and soundtrack, Contracts for it's gloomy and sinister atmosphere, Blood Money for it's unique physics and rating system that lets you kill anyone as long as it was an accident, (Haven't played Absolution), and WOA for it's absurdly complex worldbuilding and super creative gameplay.
Blood Money
@@Pharo02 yeah Blood Money is so sick and my fave but the dark aesthetic was maxxed in this one, without being cringey. hard to do that right unless you wanna come across goth emo 666 hardcore

This image of him leaning on his arm over his thigh with the sniper rifle in front of him and looking like he's expecting his target to appear will always be iconic.
The meat king's party was one of the best missions ever made in Hitman franchise 🔥
Correct
Made me terrified as a 14 year old,
but those memories, priceless, worth it 100%
Well the asylum mission in the beginning was no less creepier. Almost everywhere there was a bunch of dead corpses, psychos and medics in a blue uniform with tasers + swat assault
Gimmie DAT chicken!!!
Anathema is very good too. I still remember every guard, every weapon and every exit. The best mission has to be A Dance with the Devil
This and Blood Money are IMO the best in the series. The atmosphere created by Jesper Kyd's soundtrack is truly epic.
fr those were the first hitman games I played goated fr
This hitman trilogy of the 2000's needs remastered.
Don't say that out loud
I prefer remake than old engine remaster
What people exactly want are the old hitman maps on the modern Hitman game engine, but that will not be profitable for the company.
This is also the reason why remaster version of GTA games suck, even Rockstar being such a massive brand couldn't do it.

@@WindBendsSteel the new hitman music is like you’re doing forensics. Not assassinations. It sucks

@Inner Voice Its documented in the lore of 47 growing up he is indeed capable of emotion and empathy as demonstrated by a pet rabbit he had raised. And also by his frustration in Silent Assassin when he Diana fails to locate father Vittorio("Well, he might as well be dead then").
Jesper Kyd is a genius. Not just the Hitman games but his music in Kane and Lynch, Assassins Creed games, Borderlands are just brilliant
Freedom Fighters also has great soundtracks
I remember back when I played Silent Assassin as a child, I legit thought Jesper Kyd was a big movie composer like, say, John Williams or someone like that. the score was simply too good. I need to play some other titles scored by him apart from the OG Hitman games.

The theme for Contracts was probably the best track Kyd ever made for the Hitman games. The atmosphere of it is just incomparable. I had a loop of the opening beat as my ringtone for years.
You inspired me to do the same, thank you

Yep, Hitman does not work as a happy colorful game.
@@WindBendsSteel it's got more of a spy-action james bond feel. Though I do miss the older atmosphere of Contracts. Even Absolution felt darker than the newer ones. Believe it or not, Absolution's got the darkest atmosphere along with Contracts. At least the gameplay in the newer hitmans are some of the best in stealth gaming history.
blood money was kinda cool too in the sense it looked like it was on simple places, but then when you start looking at details it was downright a horror game, like Alvaro D' Avalde being a rapist and human trafficker in reality, or the fact that the FBI man in the wheelchair is comitting crimes himself and twisted reality to make people think he was right

They intentionally went for a grander bond esque style. The darkness is hidden in lore, nowhere in plain sight like this game

this was with big distance my most fav hitman intro. 47 is ready and waits for his target in the night until he sees it and then ends his job. The Theme of jesper Kyd is soooo epic as well. Love the chore sounds. Goosebumbs definitely deserved!
I love how the main timeline of this game is just after The Blood Money mission “Curtains down", after 47 gets shot on the liver by that french cop from The Franchise. The ending of this game was like preparing the players to what the next game was gonna be.
My favorite hitman game , absolute masterpiece!
I played this game as school kid. This was hands down the darkest story line i've ever seen. "A wounded beast (agent 47)waiting in the shadows sidelining the agony and anger, waiting for its next prey to be butchered while the thunder rolls"...this is what I felt every time I heard this theme. Jesper is a fking genius!!

If you don't know, the guy who made this theme song "Jesper Kyd" is the guy the who made the legendary Ezio's family from Assassin's creed 2. This is really talented as hell.
1 presents hitman (awake)
2 hitman as the battle between natural forces (heaven and hell , ying & yang etc)
3 Dark side of the moon , wounds, trauma, spiritual pain , repressed memories , remaking of the past and identity descronstruction.
4:professional well oiled machine 47 , assasination complex and occult world,
47 purer than ever making lots of money, even cheats death twice during this events.
Absolution: hitman is free.
Hitman 2016: Professional emotionless Bond like 47, with a business feeling.
Hitman 2: More exotic levels, and challenges with 47 at some point being forced to slowly get emotions, and memories back, that were gone for a very long forgotten time.
Hitman 3: 47 getting more human (but no worry: he‘s still pretty cold), destroying his emotionless past with the difference of him now finding his own personal purpose.
Which is your favorite game?
What do you think about the evolution of Diana?
@@nerdineverythingnerdinnoth4984 I wasn t able to play the reboot ! But my favorite is Blood Money i really have a lot of respect for that game c: What s your favorite?
@@arturoc8082 Oh only now I see your comment.
I love all of them.
I started with new H2 (the 2016 levels), and still play it the most since I only have the disk to new H3, but not the console. I then started to play blood money, and lost interest at some point, while starting to play contracts, and finished it. Then I went back to BM, and was much more entertained, and finished it (except the secret ending, which I just can‘t beat with my computer). Finally I played through silent assassin, which (when in the correct mindset) was the most fun I had with the old Hitman titles (first time contracts could hold up), but I few times had to use a walkthrough, or just blew everything away.
SA has the most tension of all of the games, and I love it. I don‘t mind the guards being so suspicious, but critique the sloooww sneak speed. I also love the weapons system that game, and no other has. The music is awesome, although all have the same structure.
Contracts atmosphere is beautiful in beldingford manor, traditions of the trade, and the Hong Kong missions, but the others looking back are a little to overkill for me. The sneaking speed is the best in the series, but much of the tension has been reduced, and from here on out, you can‘t transport out any weapon when your careful. The music is incredible.
In BM the tension is pretty much completely removed, and replaced by freedom, and the attempt at notoriety (cool idea, but not very well executed). I like the freedom in the new Hitman games a little more, because you have more, and balanced ways to manipulate the AI there. It‘s a good game with great ideas, but most things, I connect with Hitman aren‘t here (but I can still see why so many people love it).
The new Hitman has some of the best level design I‘ve ever seen. The levels may not have as many ideas as BM, but executes them better in my experience. The verticality, diversity, and depth (there are so many stories, and details on each map) is just stunning to me. This game (as I said earlier) also has the most ways to manipulate the AI, so that I feel brilliant while playing it. A master manipulator at his work. It also has new layers of the level you have to think about, like not being able to climb with your briefcase (those things don‘t take away freedom since there always is another way to get there). The only thing I can‘t stand is the always online component.
If I had to define the feeling of Hitman there‘d be two answers for two periods. One is the feeling of tension that your plan will work, and the other is the feeling of mischief forming, and improvising on your plans.
Going from all of that, my personal ranking is:
1. new H2
2. SA
3. Contracts
4. BM
[Edit: SA, and contracts are switch places, depending on my time.]
@@nerdineverythingnerdinnoth4984 The WoA trilogy sucks if you ask me. 47 is supposed to be exactly that: a emotionless and ruthless killer designed for one thing: assassinating his targets in the most elaborate ways possible and remaning unseen.
Meanwhile, the WoA trilogy throws that out of the window and adds some stupid, Deus Ex contrived conspiracy plot. If I wanted a stealth conspiracy game I'd boot up the original Deus Ex. Let me kill people in silence and don't give me some stupid conspiracy plot that has been done to death, please.
The shady shit IOI has been pulling lately with Hitman III doesn't help either.
@@Wasmachineman Well, of course it isn’t as great as SA, but I don‘t find the story that horrible, and must tell you that 47 always had minimal outlets of emotions (his care for animals, or his admiration for Vittorio). And it wasn‘t as bad as in absolution from what I‘ve heard. It was at the very least acted well. The stories that blow anything out of the water in comparison are the ones that play within the levels (just look what‘s going on in Mumbai as an example).
You still can silently kill your targets, and even ghost most levels, which is something no other Hitman game was consistently able to do.
This game is so much dark, not like those the new ones.
That's what hitman games should be like contracts one, I really miss this game and they should come back with the dark things of this game.

This music and menu theme alone is a UNIQUE MASTERPIECE and it needs an award !!!
It's so good
They need to bring back this atmosphere into hitman games and for the love of god bring back Jesper Kyd for the ost. Changing the music composer is like changing voice actors, something will feel off. Soundtrack is an important main character for any game, that's one thing most developers tend to overlook.
I wish this happen but Jesper Kyd i hear he refuse to come back because or the money he not got paid or because new games hitman i don't know the reason but yes i miss this dark atmosphere :((
The new games aren't as dark as the old ones. They want the tone to be grand and eccentric, that's why the themes are grand orchestras instead of these dirty cold beats. There's a reason they changed the tone when they rebooted it.
Jespyr Kidd, his soundtracks were always the best

There is a body next to 47, you can see it when the lightning strikes.
Yeah, that's Ort-Meyer, 47's creator, and this room is his office in the Mental Asylum, this is where the game starts, however, in the game the room is completely white simbolizing that 47 focuses only on his "father" or his target.
Holy shit i actually never realised the track is named after the room you start in. Bloody hell good eye mate. But im pretty sure the body next to 47 in the menu is not actually Ortmeyer since that room had no windows meaning 47 would need to move him for somewhat reason.
It is actually Ort-Meyer, it's textures are the same as the body in the starting scene, and, if you play Codename 47, the room (his office) actually has windows and looks exactly like the menu in Contracts, despite him being killed in the underground, that's the only discrepancy in the game, however, Contracts is set inside 47's conscience, so i guess that could be overlooked. In his mind he put his creator's body in his office as a logical association, something like that.
Ah i see, that would make sense yes. I almost forgot most of the happenings in Contracts are just flashbacks. Now answer me this, who is the doctor who helps 47?

I wish Blood Money would've elaborated on that tho, like adding a mission on an airport seen in the Contracts ending, directly after the Opera mission, because otherwise I can imagine it's really confusing to see someone armed following 47 and then the story just moving on from that, it must be weird if someone hasn't played Contracts
