- Coming March 5 to Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation! Recently reopened following a seismic retrofit, the Inventory is once again the hottest gathering place for video game characters to unwind after a long day on the job. Drop in to play No Limit Texas Hold’em with four familiar faces: Max, Strong Bad, Tycho, and The Heavy.
From the archives of Telltale Games, this jokey poker game pits iconic characters against the Player (that’s you!) in a high-stakes battle of cards, bets, and trash talk.
If it’s your lucky night, one of your opponents might be a little light on cash and throw something personal into the pot instead. If you bust them out, whatever they put up goes in your personal trophy case and your Team Fortress 2 backpack!

So I looked into it, adding it to my wishlist obviously.
So far, I'm not seeing PNatI2 but I did catch that apparently the studio was made by former TellTale employees (which probably explains how they got access to the IP), and they're overhauling 90% of the code, Hopefully meaning the characters will be a lot more difficult to manipulate. There's also apparently settings to change the amount of table talk, increase or decrease buy in price (not specific on how), and different graphics settings.
It's worth keeping an eye on.

I figured if Skunkape could get the rights to the characters sorted out this would eventually happen. They've already proven their worthiness to properly handle remastering Telltale's old masterpieces with the Sam and Max series - now the sky's the limit really, especially if they have Valve's backing to use the TF2 characters.

I avoid gluten for allergy reasons, so I can tell you that there's a decent few options out there. Just tried some cinnamon rolls from a brand called "Jack's Allergen Friendly Bakery" that were pretty good.

that would be interesting but I wouldnt get your hopes up. not to be rude, but for example, gary schwartz (the heavy) would be quite jarring to get back since, due to naturally aging, he sounds quite different than he did in this or tf2.
matt chapman is almost 50 and still going strong as strongbad and also almost every other character in free country, usa so thats possible, I dunno if "look who's back, ladies" is a new line or not, I dont remember it from anywhere.
i dont know much about andrew chaikin (tycho, in this game only) beyond his other work will telltale so I dunno if the old telltale staff in this studio have a connection, hes probably doing fine

This game taught me how to play poker. I still need to check a reference for which hands beat what past 3 of a kind, but that's just because I have a memory like an old fish net that's had a dozen dolphins cut out of it :P
The sequel game taught me poker and then I refined my skills with other means. Thanks to glados roasting me I actually came out positive at a real poker table.
It's actually a great way to learn the basics of Texas Hold Em, especially if you've got ADHD brain like me, the funny banter and clean graphics keep you in the game whereas most other poker games are dull as ditch-water.
It won't make you a master but I can play casual poker at parties without making a fool of myself now. I remember the second one being markedly harder though, Ash from Evil Dead always kicked my ass
Pretty simple to learn. It's hard to play for me (I over bluff or just muck a lot) but it's not that complicated
Now how much longer until they bring back/remaster Poker Night 2?
The rights will be much harder to get, but one can dream. It'd be awesome if they get Bruce Campbell to reprise his role as Ash.
A third game is more likely, with cheaper indie IP, but one can hope for both :D

Yep, 2026 is already the best year of this decade. We got Poker Night At The Inventory back. This is beautiful.
It's genuinely really rad to see this series come back, because they were honestly just fairly fun time killing games, even ignoring the prospect of free stuff in other games. Folks are talking about wanting the sequel to come back too, and I do as well, but I would REALLY love to see a full return to form with a potential Poker Night 3 at some point, if it's ever in the cards in the future. Thanks so much for this, fellas. :^)
I think more likely than just releasing a straight up remaster of the sequel is that they simply add the characters from the sequel as DLC to the original's remaster.

@CBaller Yeah, but from what I understand they're aiming on remastering Telltale's classics before making any sequel, because there were a lot of requests for a Sam & Max season 4 sequel, but instead of doing that they went on with Poker Night At The Inventory.
