Honestly Chanelle saying she wants to leave sounds like a cry for help. The conditions these girls are working in are horrible and I thought Hybe would improve from I-Land but I guess not. I feel really bad for her because sometimes in those situations it's impossible to see the positive side of things and you want to give up so bad. I would be just as frustrated as her.

Chanelle said she wanted to be eliminated because she was struggling with the song and she was having a hard time with it, but she didn’t quit, she kept practicing and still tried even though she was having a hard time. Iris on the other hand wanted to quit and didn’t give it her best. She was constantly talking about how she wanted to get eliminated, and was actually causing issues within her group, while Chanelle was actually trying to fix problems.
Chanelle basically needed to vent, and then went right back at it.
Why would you think Hybe would change anything at all after i-land? It WORKED. The show had great ratings, is still well loved and the group it produced is both really popular and very low on scandals. The working conditions were terrible by design. They want to push the boys and girls to their absolute breaking point, because getting them to cry makes good tv, and watching them suffer to make it creates a dedicated fanbase. It's never gonna get better on survival shows.
@@onlyonekpopfan4842 Well I felt that Hybe would make improvements because a lot of people were not happy with the way the boys were treated on that show. Despite the ratings, many people didn't like it and were frustrated by how hard they were pushing them. The Enhypen members have also shown signs of being traumatised which is a whole other thing. So I assumed that if Hybe didn't want to lose viewers, ratings, and money, they would make the general public happy or at least feel like their opinions were acknowledged.

Notice how the red team realised funa korean pronunciation isnt the best they gave her the least lines but with high vocal range and also made sure she was shown in the performance. Compared to chanelle which they shut down her feelings. They expected her to do all of that and go into a high note and extend it. This is why i need idols who are adults to debut yes not all. I was also annoyed how everyone shut down hyewon feelings its ridiculous
I honestly didn't like this episode and how the teams worked except for the red team who was almost perfect. Everyone was ignoring hyewon's feelings, I was happy Jeemin noticed her even if nothing changed. The purple team was honestly the most frustrating one to watch. Chanelle's teammates wanted to stay safe which I understand but still !! They behaviors were kinda immature to me. If they debut and work like that, dang I don't wanna imagine this
I can kinda understand Purple team's reaction to Chanelle, 3 of them are 15 years old, of course they're gonna be immature, but that doesn't mean that Chanelle had to go through all this hell and back almost alone (Moka was shown taking her side at least)
I wish her the best and hope that she doesn't give up being an idol if this show don't work out for her, cause she's a natural born performer, any group would be a lot better with her
@@rocketdoor I think Chanelle is angry or frustrated very easily, honestly if I was at her place I would slap everyone. If nobody is listening to you for 10minutes, it is kinda understandable you'll end up exploding. She got to mid-level, she doesn't want to do any other mistake so this situation was stressful. I am also 15 years old and I don't work like that and my teammates at school neither. If they are that immature, they shouldn't debut. Fortunately Moka was there to end up the drama.
its actually so unfair, how are the others sitting and standing while Oh My Girl Team danced to the whole choreo??? like hello, they had the hardest song among the three and they even have to dance to the whole choreo? Chanelle deserves better.
and also it seems like everytime they have 3 songs in a mission, one of the 3 will be nonsense or unfair towards the other 2...
what happen in the purple group is exactly why ppl want more of the older trainees in the final lineup. do you guys think that chanelle would have been overstressed had the group had jiwoo, yunah, etc.? no, they would have listen her out, understand, and then either changed things or help her out and gain confidence. instead, you got kids that chanelle has to babysit now in addition to her role as a leader AND as a trainee learning the song. a leader shouldnt have to yell and then inevitable put their potential elimination on the line JUST for everyone else to feel comfortable, there needs to be good communication and teamwork and that was almost non-existent here. they all practically threw her under the bus just so they can look good.
im also gonna add that the judges DID not help bc why did they suggest that in the first place??? they could have just said wonhee needs to improve and everything could have worked out. and the fact that it got to the point that chanelle said she wants to be out is really concerning, especially since she’s the SECOND person to say this after iris did. idk, something just is not right

Exactly notice how funa struggles with the Korean pronunciation but she has a really high range. They all decided to give her the least lines but with a lot of vocal range so that she doesn't get critisced but if she was in another group that wouldn't be the case. They even helped her with the pronunciation.
To add on: First, I think the judges were purposely pulling strings to set her up for failure by suggesting this. Second, it's not just a matter of how things would have been better with Chanelle on a team with different people. It's the fact that unless the trainees are completely scripted in how to act, anyone in a team with Wonhee would have been doomed to frustration.
People who defend that "Wonhee has improved" miss the fact that over the course of the show, Wonhee has not EVER gotten into a situation of performing a song that she does not want and that didn't suit her. This scene was just an example of pushing responsibility to someone else and contributes to the very point I am making. And I don't even want to go into the autotune incidents (keep in mind I could be wrong about it too).

It’s bad enough that she was struggling throughout the mission, but it’s even worse because she’s ranked 7 in the global ranks (finally getting close to the top 6) but will probably drop due to this episode.

I also agree with what you said about Iroha and Wonhee, they have talent but need more training. There are better contestants than those two; who deserve those spots, such as Yunah and Chanelle.

They are still young, they have the time to practice more to improve their skills and debut later, it's not like Jiwoo where it's her last chance to debut and fortunately she has the level we expect from an idol. What people don't understand is that the members in the final line-up need to be balanced and have almost the same level. If you put Wonhee or Iroha in the same group as Jeemin, Jiwoo, Minju and Youngseo (the members from the big 6 in the current top 6) there will be a big difference and it will be very noticeable

watched the episode (hadn't really followed runext till now) and I felt so bad for Chanelle, like people could get a wrong idea about her. On the positive side I loved the Yunah-Jiwoo leadership (mothering) it was so wholesome and now I want them in the final lineup together
chanelle deserves to debut just because of everything she went through in that episode. can't believe the judges weren't aware/didn't care how much harder the fifth season is on top of most of the members being forced to perform that song in the first place. chanelle has been my favorite even before this episode. i really hope she can keep going and debut.

Honestly, I have a conspiracy theory they suggested Chanelle to get that impossible line to make her fail (just as in Hyewon's part - that line was made to make someone downgrade, I guess only Jiwoo would be able to sing that). I feel Chanelle was one of the show's pick for the debut team (she had so much screentime) but after seeing she's not popular in Korea, Hybe wants to choose another one.
That’s a good theory! Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true, because let’s be honest the judges have their faves and make it completely clear who they like. They know how their scores impacts which contestant stays and I think they really pick and chose. For example, Hyewon she was top and high throughout the show and then she went down all of a sudden. Personally it doesn’t make sense.
On the other hand if your theory is true, we cannot let them eliminate Chanelle like that.
I think that Purple team as a whole was set up to be a failure. They had the hardest song from the start, made even harder with harder choreo, and the new arrangement of the song takes the emotion out of the song so they have to try and fit a whole different vibe to the song. The other teams only had to focus on vocals and a little bit of dancing, meanwhile Purple had the hardest vocals along with a full choreo.
Every round there has been a team that was set up for failure before the members were even chosen. The first round, it was Dreams Come True, they got screwed over by having two new trainees who had never even been evaluated and two of the lowest ranking trainees. The second round it was whatever team got the bad verse of Attention since it’s essentially just dancing. Round three, it was Dream Of You/My Bag team. The choreo to Dream Of You was no where near as flashy and their props for the stage only appeared for the first couple seconds. They also had no dance break like the other teams. Then, My Bag is just not a good song for a dance battle. The fourth round it was Spark, I mean, the main killing point of that song is the dance along with the vocals, not just the vocals. And now this.

If things keep going like this, I believe Chanelle, Himena and Jeongeun will possibly be eliminated in the next round, even though they are all AMAZING PERFORMERS.

I really hate people who jeopardize the performance of the group for personal gain. chanelle did her best and tried to explain it to them as best as she could, but the others insisted only on what they wanted. I don't know the girls' ages exactly but chanelle is one of the eldest members of the group and also has the leader role (even if she doesn't want to). yet they did not care about her. I was about to go crazy. Also, this show is seriously boring, I only watch it for my top3 pick (jiwoo, yunah, chanelle) but I'm about to lose my mind every episode. anyway thanks for the summary lmao

Judges only comment on people they like, and generally these "loved" girls have the most screen time. this makes me think the show is rigged. And they are like "oh yes you can't sing but your voice is calming, you are avarage performer but i enjoyed , your dance is not very good either but you made it look so easy.. and you're cute you also have charms😍😘🤩" while sleeping on well trained talented ones. Like why did it take them so long to realize that jiwoo's vocals are so good? She is literally the best vocalist on the show

As for Monster, even with the new hard rock arrangement, the vocals had no grit and some even came across as flat and out of tune (sorry, I know you enjoyed it). im pretty sure youngseo, minju, and jiwoo are locked in for the top6 (this does NOT mean you should stop voting for them if one is your fav). yunah is kinda on the fence but she’s been improving that she might be able to breakthrough (and shes my personal pick for leader of the debut group). jeemin is also most likely to get in, although personally i think that moka would suit the final vocal lineup better. and chanelle, i have no idea, but i REALLY hope she manages to make through.

I really liked Yunah and Jiwoo's chemistry in this episode. They have quickly became one of ky favourite duos. Both of them have great leadership skills.

This time minju and soyeon really shined, ever since ep5 I started to notice that minju has an amazing and unique voice that I have never paid attention to, and idc performance was just the cherry on top, and just like that youngseo was dropped from my top 6 and minju took her place
I was never convinced with youngseo anyways, I felt like sometimes she exaggerates her expression, idk but i feel like she's only good with fierce and gc concept i don't think she can pull off a cute or bubbly concept
and I also got to discover how good soyeon is during the 7th ep, she is actually really good, but she ofc will be eliminated bc the judges and live audience are all biased towards pretty trainees like wonhee and iroha
some ppl will not like this but iroha is not that special, her vocals are below average and she is just a good dancer like not THAT amazing, jihyun, hyewon, himena, youngseo and jeemin are all much much better dancers than her, every ep, I get to see that iroha is not that special and I think others too, bc the pre-voting she was top1, and the second round of voting when the show started airing she dropped 4 ranks, bc ppl got to see that she is actually not that special, she is good yeah but there are much better performers there

Wonhee was avoiding doing anything difficult, that's actually not improved since she started. Even when she was choosing her mission she was intimidated by the RV song and felt secure in the 'outcast' song. Truly she's only still in the game because of her visuals. She can grow and debut but def not on this show. Also, patience is not for a 'survival show' (literally survival is cutthroat), if she's gonna improve she's gotta do it fast to be in this lineup.

Judging from the trailer, I honestly think that the ones who are going to perform the black mission are most probably Jiwoo (she was the one who was closer to the door in the trailer while the other red team girls are behind her, so she's most likely it), Youngseo/Minju/Jeemin (idk honestly i just think that these girlies are most probably the ones to get picked in the green team) and Chanelle/Moka (im honestly not that sure since in the trailer they just showed Wonhee cheering for the one who got picked for the black mission 💀 but these 2 are most likely to be picked)
according to rumours from supposed ppl in the live audience, the 3 trainees selected for the black mission were:
green room - youngseo
purple room - himena
red room - iroha
the black mission is said to be them performing shut down by blackpink and whoever does the best could potential raise the current rank of their group. however, the audience is not shown who won that. take this with a grain of salt though, since its not confirmed
