You are doing a beautiful job restoring the 32, great job going back to points, you don't drive your RPU enough to worry about ignition modules and if go on a trip all you need to carry with you is a spare condenser, points don't quit. Don't worry about water getting splashed on the dizzy I had a 1940 ford many decades ago, never had a problem with water it was every day driver going through snow rain and whatever the weather was that day. I admire the seat in your RPU is that custom made or from another car
thanks! yeah im not to worried about water, i dont need to drive in the rain anyway. the seat is from an old leather couch! looks weathered because it is haha
I traded my OEM dual point ignition for the Pertronix ignition and it works like a charm but, I do understand the issue you have with a digital (it either works or it doesn't) system. The old dual point system is what freaked me out and the tight squeeze it is to maintain it so, my figers are crossed and I'll add my coupe to my Tripple A coverage - just in case!
Hello Travis. I bought a Giga tech electronic ignition set-up. Got 4 wires,1 to coil neg,1 to coil pos, 1 for ground and last wire to points. Condenser wire remove. Works like a charm. If it fail, remove wires and fit wire from neg on coil to points and connect condenser.
With the distributor on the front of the engine, better not get caught in the rain or accidentally drive through a puddle or you'll probably be changing points (or at least drying out the cap) on the side of the road... I suspect the reason why people don't like electronic ignitions nowadays is because the parts are cheap/garbage. I have an '80s MoPar ignition box still going while friends have "new" ones cr@p out every 6months or 1000 miles, whichever happens sooner...
The condenser and points coming from China suck but so does the electronic stuff to when ever I see a distributor at the swap I grab it the original parts are scars 32 looking good
32 looking good Travis Keep up the good work
Looking good!!!!! 🤜🤛

thats kindof a smart idea if you really want to go electronic but why not just go points if thats the failsafe anyway..
