Sir i had booked appointment onto VFS edinburg but i found out another date on Birminngham centre now system is not allowing to schedule appointment as its saying that i had recently made appointment. Applicants are not allowed to make new appointments till 1 day of last appointment. Any idea how to resolve this issue

It has been 6 weeks since my documents are submitted in Vfs under Edinburgh .The only status I see is "your application is processed and sent to high commission of Indian in london for further assessment " . What all the statuses did you see for your application ? Police verification is all done in 2nd week after application. any other process as I have to travel to India at any cost in couple of weeks as I have to join the job .No response from High commission

I don't have adhar card since we have been living around 14 years in uk. Is it mandatory to fill adhar number to go to other pages for filling application? The normal mode timeline for all Fresh/Renewal passport applications submitted in VFS Centers located at London/Edinburgh Jurisdiction is 4 to 6 weeks and Birmingham Jurisdiction is 2 to 3 weeks. For us they took 5 weeks & a day to get passport in our hand. I think you would need to be prepared for some additional delays due to current situation and plan accordingly. Hope this would help! After filling the online passport application form, if you realize that the information is incorrect on the form printout (e.g. spelling mistakes, incorrect date of birth, etc), you have to fill the form again with the correct details and take a printout of this corrected passport form.

It has been 6 weeks since my documents are submitted in Vfs under Edinburgh .The only status I see is "your application is processed and sent to high commission of Indian in london for further assessment " . What all the statuses did you see for your application ?
Police verification is all done in 2nd week after application. any other process as I have to travel to India at any cost in couple of weeks as I have to join the job .No response from High commission

Once your passport is ready, you will get SMS one day before the delivery of your passport, if at all you have opted for SMS service while submitting the application in VFS.

3. If you wish to change the address in the passport, you have to provide proof of the new address in the form of most recent utility bill, monthly bank statements, etc on your name.

Hi, You can't cancel a submitted passport application and it will get deleted/removed automatically from their system after 30 days.

1. Please complete the online application form using the link provided. portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html.Applicants also need to make a prior appointment and carry the printed application form to the centre for submission.-
Note:- For all children under the age of 5, Thumb impression should be given in the signature box, however children over 5 years and above should write the name in the signature box.
2. 2 (Two) recent photographs (2 inch X 2 inch) identical photographs showing frontal view of full face. Photographs should be in colour with white background.
3. Annexure E - to be added with all the applications
4. PPF- Police Verification Form - To be added with all applications. In case of minor applicants, both parents individually need to submit a completed PPF-Police Verification Form, along with the parents photo and PPF form for the applicant.
5. Copy of the First and last page of the current passport( In case of renewal)
6. Copy of Valid UK Visa/ Biometric Card.
7. UK address proof.
8. The passport application form must be filled with one Indian address( with Police station & pin code)
9. Copy of Parents Passport (First and Last page only) along with Biometric Card/Valid UK Visa.

Hello, thanks for watching! Processing time would vary from application to application (and time to time). The normal mode timeline for all Fresh/Renewal passport applications submitted in VFS Centers located at London/Edinburgh Jurisdiction is 4 to 6 weeks and Birmingham Jurisdiction is 2 to 3 weeks.
For us they took 5 weeks & a day to get passport in our hand. I think you would need to be prepared for some additional delays due to current situation and plan accordingly. Hope this would help!
