So Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.40 is here!
Update 1.40 or Spec 2 as it is known is absolutely huge featuring new cars, a new track, loads of new events, payout changes, new licenses and more!
In this video i'll be taking you through the second of two brand new menu books to arrive with update 1.40, Nations Cup featuring the insane Red Bull X 2019. Taking place across three events at Interlagos, Sardegna & Dragon Trail, giving players some long awaited world series events in the single player portion of the game.

In the next 12months these menus need to grow to 100 to keep/maintain the single player engagement, great vid as always!
They won't grow that much but I think that they can realistically grow up to 50-60 considering that we got 49 by now.
True true, but I'd settle for 2/3 added every time there's an update
I thought there was “Montreal” in GT7. Maybe the update next month.
Just finished these, as well as the Trial Mountain 200k one. For me, it worked best to use soft tires in the front and medium in the rear to even out tire wear, although I may just be heavy footed and a bad driver. For Trial Mountain, I did medium up front and hard for the rear. I suck at Maggiore, so will revisit that later.
It also helps to remove the toe from the rear and increase the rear downforce
the strat i used for Interlagos after the 1.49 update was racing mediums. softs seem to wear of very quickly. could just be me though lol

Strange, Interlagos was by far the worst for me on hard. I was lapping 1:15/16 and still losing. The other 2 were easy
Interlagos is fucking insanely hard for me rn, doing about the same lap times you mentioned
I wish I could do 1:15 instead of my 1:18s :/ got 1st on medium difficulty after several tries
For anyone struggling on difficult mode, my tip is to try and get to 4th place with Mediums with an average best lap of 1:17:400 and then get those Softs and it will be a piece of cake.
I know this is an old video but man, I was hating these races. I only ever did the Brazil one and I just thought it was way too tough. But it was my fault. I all of a sudden when back to auto because this car has so many gears. I think the car was spec'd out for another race in the past. Anyway when I went to race in auto it always stayed in 7th gear. But today the simple task of switching back to manual worked for me. I couldnt do it with softs and used mediums. Only the 1st race tho. Funny thing is I passed the lead car on the last lap and he passed me back then I edged out with a .01 second win.
I won the other two races but im getting my ass kicked at Interlagos. I'll try your settings tomorrow.
Absolutely hate this car, they could of added way bew better menu books than. I would of rather had a frikin MX-5 Miata menu book than this car. I still finished this menu book, but hated every second of it. Big time L Polyphony 😒
I still can't change the damn tachometer....
Im doing terrible at Sardegna. On hard tires which still get worn. I'm playing easy and still takes me half the race to get into top 3, but then spin out and ruin my race. Any other tips or tuning? I got all the part upgrades that I can.
Switch to mediums immediately, the hard tires are garbage. They aren't fast and they don't grip. You should be able to get away with changing just that. If you are still spinning out or wearing out the tires too quickly my opinion is you have to figure out how to take corners differently depending on your driving style. My style is more heavy on the braking and coasting (understeer-centric) which is easier to do at Sardegna than Interlagos which I think benefits from a more oversteer-centric style. So I opted to change my toe angle up to 0.22, set my brake bias to the front (-3), and then when exiting corners I would either be very light on the throttle or coast until the car is pointed in a straight line and make sure to either short shift to 3rd gear or be very gradual on the throttle. I wouldn't worry about how long it takes to get to the front, just focus on minimal tire wear and you could grab first place in the last 2 laps.
I was Unable to use the " standard " option had to use the 25th anniverasry car
Not that it seems to matter, but I own all of those Red Bull cars and when I am prompted to pick a car for the first event it only showsntge 25th Anniversary.
First of all, thank you for your coverage of the update and the great guides for the events, I always appreciate your videos.
About the update, what a waste, I can't even say how disappointed I am, it's just more of the same... No endurance races, no proper strategy, terrible payouts, no time or weather variations... All the new events are just "do it once and don't come back"... And the weekly events are even worse... It's truly painful to see what could have been the greatest racing game ever just being wasted by PD...
Man, stop complaining. This update exceeded our expectations so far. Also, there is strategy in the races since you have to pit properly and payouts are improved (not massively, tho) and we got plenty of new events. Overall, it is a really good improvement and it will be getting better and better with future updates. It is a good start for the game's second phase nonetheless which means that PD is listening! And everything it's free! Championships and endurances are definitely coming soon! Be sure of that 😉

But I'm curious, did you play gt4, gt5 and gt6? Did you watch what PD and Kaz said about what gt7 would be during it's promotion?

@@filipepires-sn7vq We paid, but now all the DLC are free so we won't spend anything more of what we have already spent. Just need waiting for updates, which is tedious but hey PD is keep improving and expanding the game significantly and everything we got it's free. In terms of how the game looked at launch, yeah it was a mess like 40% of the whole product.. That said, at the current state it's not 40% anymore, now it's like 60-70% of the final content. The game is not complete yet but it will be by 2025 or so. Yes, I played GT4 and GT5 and both were the peak of the series in my opinion in terms of singleplayer content. However, GT7 is at GT6 level now. It surpassed GT2 and GT1 by a very big margin and it will still keep growing surpassing GT6 and maybe even Sport so it will be getting big as GT3 singleplayer wise which is pretty damn good considering how high is the quality on all the other departments. GT7 is a beast and it has so much potential. PD is listening and improving the game without asking for a pennie and that's a good sign that makes me optimistic!

And you want to tell me that this is 60%/70% of the entire game?
Considering the technology available, the previous "real" gt games and everything Kaz and PD said and promised about gt7, this is still less than 40% of content for a gt game especially in the events, we should have at least 400 by now...
@@filipepires-sn7vq You are right, I would also prefer more events to what we got now but you have to bear in mind that the previous games were less complete features wise, lower graphics, less advanced physics, AI and Multiplayer. GT4, GT5 and GTSport and even GT6 had more content in comparison but you also forgot the extra Sophy races that have been added with the 1.40 Spec 2. there's about 20-40 races among 9 tracks so it is like 230-240 races in the game with Missions and World Circuits included plus all the circuit experiences, Weekly challenges, licenses and custom races as extra (190 world circuits+all the missions including also 8 endurances, all the circuit experiences, custom races and 20-30 Sophy races in Quick Races). Overall, yes, it is not neary as much content as GT4, GT5 and even GT Sport had but it's slowly getting close to Sport and 6. Correction, GT7 has 38 tracks with 108 layouts, not 37 tracks. I think GT7 will surpass GT6 and reach GT Sport longevity in regards to singleplayer at the end. 80-100 extra races plus missions included is to be expected until the support for the game drops in 1.5-2 years. It will reach 300-350 missions+races plus the extra circuit experiences, licenses, Sophy and maybe some extra challenges. Not as much as GT4 and GT5 but it will definitely not be a 'small' game and neither it is now at current state. I hope GT8 will have GT4 and GT5 longevity, any possibilities?
How do you win the car? I need it for the weekly races, but it doesn't make sense to pay $3M, just to get a $1M reward.
If you don't want to grind for the 3million credits you can win it by getting all gold trophies in the S license tests. Which is quite the challenge. If I were you I'd just race the Le Man 30 minute race three times. With a clean race bonus you should have close 3 million credits or close to it
i made it on hards, medium, softs, but i never get past the 3rd, at least at sardegna, and thing i hated the most was that i screwd up always on same turns when the tyres are on the edge... And then i cant get back the time i loose with those spinings, even i have already tuned the car, but i did this always when i had the hard tyres, had to try again... But i spent like 2h just to do sardegna, in 4th, even one race i was on second and i crashed on the 1st bot on the last turn and spined out at the final lap... ahah I hate this challanges with the same car... not funny at all, at least for me, the challange is the tunning and driving skills... Like Gr3. seems kinda boring to drive with absesnse of tuning skill, this is a bit let down if you struggle with some type of cars driviing style
Is it makes any difference towards game progress in which difficulty you finish these events?
9:04 how about transmission? Should I fit it? If yes, what speed should I tune?
I’m an automatic car and on gamepad I’m not getting anywhere near 19th yet alone 1st. Is this still possible or am I just shit haha?

I dont have menu book 49, what am i missing. Do you have to be level 50? Im only 42
Go to the cafe, make sure you haven't skipped any menu books. And I do believe this menu books opens up after you've completed every other menu book and are at level 50

everybody are pracing this update but it dosent fix the big problem with this game you dont get any credits for your time so it is back to le mance and sardina to grind credits it is just so F U ,,,, boring
You can farm well with a couple of glitches, tho. Custom races are broken and can give you a good bunch of money if you know how to glitch them
