  • This video is about how I fitted a new head unit to a 2015 KIA Sportage with amplifier.
Although the video is specifically about a Sportage with external amplifier, I feel that it may be helpful to anybody who wants to fit a new head unit to any other vehicle. Most of the issues that I came across will be similar.
I have created a pdf to explain the wiring diagrams for a 2015 KIA Sportage with amplifier, which also includes the fitting kits I used and the names of the vendors that supplied them in the UK.
    Pdf is here:
    drive.google.com/file/d/1Fny4...
Finally, here is a video that explains how to drop the dashboard on the Sportage and remove the original head unit:

Hi. Thanks for making time to do this video. One thing I am not clear on is which pin number/ cable colour on the Kia harness is the 12v amp supply connected to. I have a different kit to yours

sorry, I don't know. I was just focused on getting the 12V onto the Connects2 connector. what it did with it after that I don't know. However, I can tell you that Connects2 have a technical dept. that will answer emails promptly and fully. So, if you ask them I expect they would tell you. Paul

I got a Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB from Halfords in the UK. It cost around £240, but there was a special deal at the time, it's gone up since then. When I discovered how to get the 12V to the amplifier and got some sound out, that gave me the confidence to work on the reversing camera and the microphone. Looking back, it was all quite easy, but the problem was lack of information and a bit of confidence. Good luck when you try again.

@@taznoaman1533 If you have the same make and model as me (with amplifier), then all the information you need should be there in the video. That said, you do have to be prepared to work at it and to take the dash down more than once. It's not an easy decision, I know.

Omg thanks for this. I've spent €500 on fitters who couldn't get sound from it and wanted 300 more 🤣. I'll try your fix tonight 😜

@@equigs Really pleased to hear this. I definitely want to know how you get one. Please let us know. Just one thing, if you have watched the video in full there are a number of kits needed, plus adapter cables and connectors. Make sure you have it all before you start. Full details are in the pdf. Good luck.

Hi. Yes, I already did. Click on the word 'more', then look at the link to the pdf file. The pdf has a link in it which will take you to the pin-out table. Paul.
