Simon, you don't like designer shoes because you're not a fool who is easily separated from his money. All designer brands are the definition of veblen goods. They are expensive purely because they are expensive. And people will pay those prices because those prices make the brand exclusive. It's a "Haha! I can afford this and you can't" thing even though most people who buy that stuff can't really afford it. Gucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton, etc... all of their shoes, clothes, handbags, etc... are all made from the same materials, with the same quality, in the same overseas sweatshops, by the same children as every day brands. The only difference is the profit margin, and that people are willing to get fleeced on a product if it means wearing a status symbol.
You said it perfectly. I have never bought a designer item in my life for this reason just couldn’t give 2 shits what the brand is as long as it fits and looks good.
Real designer clothes like Louis and dior etc are not massed produced like Nike or anything similar to that it’s done with craftsmanship in places like France and Italy by the best using the best materials, on certain seasons or drops of that brand only 100-1000 are made of that, hand sewn handbags and jackets etc, get your facts right 😊
