I'm a dressage rider and pretty new to the sport could someone please tell me why before he started the but looked really far back? Idk if that's how jumpers are supposed to look and am curious. Amazing round from an untrained eye!
he's only a good rider in the way that he theoretically knows how a jumper course should be ridden - he's a really, really bad rider in the way that he doesn't condition his horses correctly at all, especially for a sport that requires horses to be in a condition that supports their musculoskeletal system, soft tissue, and their minds when competing at top level in such a physically demanding sport - you can tell he does zero correct conditioning on the flat and no sort of dressage work to be able to ride the horse safely, in a fit manner, and soundly through any jumper course. He is also verging onto the side of abusive and just plain cruel in the way that he rides his horses. Any decent horseperson can easily tell that his horses are not remotely happy. They're not physically or mentally fit to compete in this sport or be ridden over fences at ALL due to the way he rides and the fact that he doesn't condition his horses in even remotely the right way. It's just plain depressing and it makes me cringe really hard whenever I see him or many other riders like him that ride like this and have zero regard for their horses.
That is a pretty fit horse. He is not being abusive I have seen abusive show jumping riders and he isn't one of them. Don't you know the FEI rules they wouldn't allow him to compete if they witnessed him bring a horse that was not conditioned enough to be jumping at this level? If he was being abusive they wouldn't allow him to compete either. I honestly don't think you have a clue what you are talking about stick to what you know.
That horse is incredible!
You can always plan to go in the ring and ride like that, but Rodrigo always goes through with that plan.
