Granted I am 78 years old, and no doubt should be stood in the corner of an antique store for sale. However up until my 30's meant "to annoy" someone. Whistling at a woman as she walked by was "molesting" her. When I first learned Spanish, as a child "to molest" and "molestar" meant exactly the same thing.
