Two of my favourite artists of all time covering one of my favourite songs by one of my favourite bands...there is nothing about this performance that I don't LOVE!!!
everyone keeps saying in the other videos that mat is kind of a douche. is it really true? coz i just know mat from the grey's anatomy songs. i haven't yet watched his live videos. but i don't know, he seems kinda sweet. i love his voice. and of course, the great ingrid michaelson. :)
their voices don't really work well together. His voice sounds good... and her voice is totally beautiful... but his voice kind of swallows hers up. He's got a bold voice and her voice is understated and supersweet and subtle. Although it could be just because it's recorded on a phone.
Yeah I am positive that recording quality has a lot to do with that, but it just depends on how you listen and who you focus on. He is in front from this view and also he started the vocals, she joined in. If i listen for her only it almost drowns him out. True enough, if this had been recorded in a studio, on seperate mics, with a sound crew it would sound infinitely better, but the way they pulled this off live, on one mic is pretty special!
I think it's the angle on the mic... he's front and center more and she's off to the side. When she's dead center for her solo parts her voice has more presence again.

if this song is sort of sacreligious,and mat is a christian and he performed this...interesting....cuz you know, the song is kinda unbiblical
