Click-Bait title- didnt actually provide ANY substance about how to ACTUALLY run a bar for someone whose inquiring how to do so... you guys just babbled on about what games you like and your interests. Would've been nice to hear how he started it, what the process was, how long until it was profitable? setbacks, challenges (licensing, local policy, approvals, etc) lol you covered none of that- the guy actually seemed pretty discrete and not even thrilled to be on the call.... no offense to the host, he was entertaining and funny, but change the title to "Up Downs Owner Talks about his favorite game and thats about it"

I think people are so drawn to these barcades because it's such a comfortable judgment free place to just let your guard down and have a good time. I hope these places stick around and aren't just a passing trend.

Sorry. I didn’t like this guy. His viewpoints and his unawareness for 1v1 fighting games when starting your own arcade business shows how much research he did beforehand. Shocking.

I interviewed Up-Down's marketing manager last month around E3 and he absolutely knew his stuff. It seemed Josh came from a more casual background considering he started the arcade side of his business as something for customers to do between musical acts. It's safe to assume when the gaming portion of the business picked up he surrounded himself with people who were more familiar with running arcades.

I hate Barcades. Just Bar owners exploiting the retro gaming community.
Only people doing it right is Galloping Ghost in Chicago. A true arcade that doesn't have to push the last legal drug and doesn't alienate kids and children.

Nah man. Truth is dedicated arcades are not profitable anymore. If making barcades is the only way to keep arcades alive then so be it.

@Dr_Salt You get it. Some of these "gamers" think like consumers, not entrepreneurs
