MMA should not even be referred to as fighting.
At the very least, people should stop conflating MMA with being something that places people in imminent danger.
_Quitting is completely acceptable in MMA, even when there is no risk of injury._

All combat sports where you can be hit full contact and knocked unconscious I would consider a "fight"
Everyone who steps into the ring is risking their life, someone died recently in just a white collar charity boxing event. And quitting is acceptable to who? The guy who taps because if he doesn't his arm will be broken?

@@dannymitchellmma MMA has to be the only sport in the world wherein the professional athletes lay motionless on their back like an overworked bar whore (even without someone on top of them), while supposedly competing at the highest levels.
Someone pretending to go catatonic for a moment during ANY other combat sport or in ANY fight will instantly lose, likely suffering from serious injury.
I am unaware of anyone other than Vasquez/Guylain dying from actual injuries sustained in MMA but have personally witnessed three (3) boxers die and an additional one that might as well be dead.
_"And quitting is acceptable to who?"_
The most famous MMA fighter of all-time has repeatedly quit, when there was no possibility of his arm being broken.

@@John.Flower.Productions You obviously have zero understanding of the grappling aspects of MMA. I urge you to take a class in jiu jitsu or MMA and educate yourself. There has been over 20 deaths in MMA, not that is something to brag about. Boxing is more dangerous boxing of the count, you get knocked down and then stand back up and continue to fight. In MMA after a knockdown it is more likely the fight will be stopped, so less head trauma overall. Boxing is more dangerous IMO but regardless all combat sports are dangerous.
I am guessing you are talking about McGregor here? He was strangled by Nate Diaz, he taps because if he doesn't he will go unconscious and then ultimately die of asphyxiation (obviously its the refs job to try and stop it before this happens). Against Dustin he literally snapped his leg.
You obviously just have a personal dislike for MMA. But don't let this cloud your judgement of the skill level required to take part in an MMA fight. Again if you took some classes you would have a better understanding.

@@dannymitchellmma Read whichever wiki-page a little closer and it will become clear that Vasquez/Guylain are the only two that have died _"from actual injuries sustained in MMA."_
I competed in wrestling for more than a decade (including NAIA) and understand MMA enough to know that it is not fighting.
I also understand jiu-jitsu enough to know that it _basically_ requires cooperation, or at the very least, it requires active consent by both people.
Conor quit against Diaz/Khabib because quitting is acceptable in MMA.
The famous Muay Thai *fighter* Rodtang got choked unconscious by Demetrious Johnson because he is a *fighter* and cannot be made to quit.
Do UFC competitors lay on their back as a _defense?_
Do UFC competitors touch the mat with their hands/knees as a _defense?_
Do UFC competitors turn their back to an opponent and literally run away as a _defense?_
