For anyone interested in the 2019 x5. It cannot be shifted into neutral without being started. There is no access to an override switch under the cup holder as in previous x5's. The only way to get it into neutral is from under the car, manually shifting the linkage (someone told me a special bmw tool is used for this purpose). The turning radius on this car is far worse than a 2010 ford explorer. It's quite possibly the worst turning radius of any car I have ever driven. I liken it to a 22' uhaul. I feel as though they purposefully limited the turning radius so that they can really push IAS as an option.
