I know this was 4 years ago but normally for other panels in other cons I've seen, they usually have a staff near the mic to verify whether a fan will say something appropriate or not. It's so weird they didn't have that here considering the size of the audience.
a moment of appreciation for the girl who asked about trixie’s music (30:28). her question was so genuine and non-invasive, and she didn’t act like she was best friends with trixie and katya and trying to emulate their style of humor, but was just friendly and polite (also for the size of the fandom, trixie’s music goes really under appreciated).
also i really wanted to know the answer to that question for years so i’m really glad she got the chance to give us all the answer :)

Can you guys stop making them uncomfortable for the Q&A? They been hearing these comments and have started talking more about those interactions and even what they think are faux pas or possibly inappropriate. They know its not their place to tell fans how to be a fan but their quick and fleeting fan interactions spawn jokes and stories about highly uncomfortable situations so its kind of a mixed blessing. sometimes also theyre unintentionally intimate (like true ladies) because the duo remember always that its just people being people. If Trixie can make a fool of herself in front of idols like RuPaul (snatch game) or Amanda LePore (getting drunk and introducing herself twice to Amanda) I think its fine to be a crazed fan as long as we can laugh about it. Its gota be weird tho when some people come to them and try and broach highly personal stuff in a 30 second interaction while hoping for it all to be memorable and important. Their jokes about being counselors is spot on. Wish i had people with Trixie and Katyas wit and sense to help me as a fledgling homo but then again I might be that story about a fan that pissed himself and cried the whole time and id just have to pull up my big girl panties and say thats my story.

yes! it was so forced, one because it was painfully obvious that they weren't being themselves, and two because they were trying to replicate the humor they have with each other, but you just don't joke with a stranger as you do with your best friend, so it came off as rude and invasive

I know everyone wants to have their moment, but damn... that person did seem really young though, so I can understand why they thought that would kill. Trixie's reply was perfect. Hopefully it was a "teaching moment." There's a time and a place, but it's not here (especially when you have so many other people waiting behind you!).
These were TAME compared to some of the other panels at any other con.....

I honestly feel bad for a lot of the people asking questions. A lot of the questions were cringe, and some very inconsiderate, but it must feel awful to to up and try to share a laugh with your favorite comedic duo and have it fall flat. It must haunt some of them.
