My Mind & Me's shooting took place in 2019 and beyond, but the project initially began in 2016 during Gomez's Revival tour. After rehearsing the performance, Selena Gomez is very down on her performance and mentioned being afraid that she wasn't seen as enough on her own. It's then that she alludes to a potential collaboration with Justin that ultimately wasn't released. Teen Vogue speculated this was the 2015 duet “Strong,” which was leaked but never ultimately came out. When talking about John Janick, the head of her record label, she said, while crying, “I don't know what John thinks, I want to talk to John. I don't want to disappoint John. I don't want him to think that he signed some Disney kid. It just sucks too, because the whole song thing. He called me this morning about the song with Justin, like, when am I just going to be good enough by myself? When am I just gonna be good enough by myself, not needing anybody to be associated with?”
Friends around her told her, “you already are.”

Justin's story was heartbreaking but the victim who faced real consequences was all the three (selena justin hailey) media kept dragging all three and fans constantly kept comparing them trying to make them look bad.
people need to understand their relationship was something that was their personal since everyone got into it, the more it became fuss and started harming selena.
it's actually sad to see people more interested in relationships going wrong than actually caring about themselves.

No what harmed her was Justin he is a narcissist it’s the story of the the best one, the one with the light that irritated the narc demon. She was abused and used and then she left and the narcissist married quickly after. This is the exact senario that plays out with narcs they marry fast a woman they don’t love. After badly hurting and injuring the the one with the light it’s really messed up. I’m sure it took every bit of strength, grit and breath for her to pull herself back up by the boot straps.
Disrespectiful love does a mess with your head, I've been through this before. This is far from a mental break down this was years ago she was young and feeling insecure about her career witch we would all feel the same way if the only way we were noticed was from standing in someone else’s shadow so I can totally relate and understand her frustration and emotions she worked her but off for her age and it wasn’t “good enough” if it didn’t showcase a bigger star she knew she was good enough her friends and family knew she was good enough but she needed the validation through the people and her business representatives and sadly the people didn’t show up until the drama did but this clip is of someone feeling defeated and not “good enough”but most definitely NOT a nervous break down ok rant over ❤

it’s insane to me that she didn’t understand how massively popular and successful she was without Justin. For me, I would have easily recognized her long before she was with Justin. That’s why I always found it weird that people thought so much of her “star power” was attached to him. Even selena believed that for a period of time. The reality is, she was just as powerful as he was, and that’s why to this day, people still can’t stop talking about them. It’s rare to have two strong talents in their own right, especially at that young age.
on another hand is well known that men success makes more impact than a lady's one because there aren't a majority of men that will remember, applause and take lessons from a woman years of their life. I totally agree. I have seen Selena do interviews, like in the last year and specifically ask her fans to stop talking about her and Justin because she has moved on blah blah blah and they simply refuse to do what the girl asks them to do. Her fans never comply. It's awful. She will admit that the whole Justin thing is part of her past and she is healed and they won't let it go and they won't let it go.
