The Resident Evil Directors Cut being locked to the subscription is annoying. I had already purchased that years ago on the PS3. Every other game I had purchased on the PS3 that came out for the PS4/PS5 I had been able to just download. No way will I subscribe to a higher tier when I already own physically every game on their that I would play.
Remaster would be better then a remake has the original dino crisis was bloody good tons of puzzles to do and just a right amount of ammo for your 3 weapons.
Hopefully this situation with Dino Crisis is temporary. Just an FYI, I got RE Director's Cut without Plus, as a free download, since I already had it on PS3.
Its just really odd sony doesn't make a ps1 and ps2 legacy section on the ps5. I really enjoyed some ps2 games on my ps4 over the years. But having a high tear subscription to play an enjoyable classic is really pushing it in my opinion.
This is why I prefer emulation-it gives you freedom over games without being locked behind subscriptions or restricted access. RetroAchievements also enhance the experience, adding new challenges to games I’ve played before. Even when you’ve already bought the game on older hardware like the PS1, PS2, PS3, or PSP, there’s no way to transfer them, so you’re forced to repurchase. Physical media is disappearing, and even if you buy a game today, you don’t truly own it. You're just purchasing a license to access it, which could be revoked at any time.
Hopefully it will be released to buy but maybe they are doing this to get people to sub to the highest tier. So if I got to wait a couple months in order to buy them, then I can wait.
Why do people keep saying that, if Sony really wanted people to sub to the highest tier, they'd lock all of their older 1st party games and all of the 3rd party games behind the highest tier, not just Capcom
Nah, I'll play it on my PS3, emulate or wait for GOG (which has RE1-3). Trophies don't add any value for me and even if they sold it separately for PS4/5, we would just need to buy it again.
Hopefully they'll update it so you can buy and play it without needing ps plus like they did with some other games. (At least where i live they updated some games to buy them without ps plus anyway)
the things that sucks was i bought dino crisis when it was on the ps3 classic catalog. i was hoping my playstation games i bought would carry over since their digital but it never did on the ps4 and now i get the game through a paid subscription.
And now it’s going to be a really long wait before the November PlayStation Plus games. Sony released the October ones too earlier I can’t help to feel like.
Something tells me it may be on Capcom than Sony. Ether way, they need to stop doing this. Let the consumer pay for these old games individually because as if I’m paying *THAT* much just to play one PS1 game.
I had a horrible feeling when they said dino crisis was coming to the classics section that there’d be a subtle it’s coming with a subtle but so I didn’t bother eventually and I don’t believe for a second capcom are going to change there mind anytime soon
Thank you for making this video to show emphasis on this issue. I sent two emails to Capcom asking them to make dino crisis official available to the public on ps5 to purchase without the subscription, and they said that there wasn't any plans to make that possible 😢
That's why I have games like Dino Crisis 1 and 2 emulated on my modded PS4, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, and though PC and Android. Don't gotta wait for a Classic Port and don't gotta pay $160 a year.
Had a feeling they were testing the waters on how popular the franchise is before confirming or working on a remake to then hide it behind the highest paywall. Make it make sense😂

Absolutely. The only remake I care about is the FF7 series, and that's because it's way more than just a cosmetic makeover of the PS1 game. If there's an original version of a game on PS1/2/3, I'll download the ISO or buy it used on Ebay.
Capcom Vancouver (the now shut down Dead Rising Studio) really wanted to work on more than just constant DR games. one of the games they pitched was a dino crisis game. capcom literally would not let anyone touch their older IPs. instead capcom forced them to make DR4 with all new executive staff within a year....and promptly shut down the studio shortly after. capcom loves to mishandle their IPs.
It’s all cool until the servers go down and Sony cant confirm my licenses for the games I bought. Man this last one was upsetting because I just purchased DRR and went to play it on a day I scheduled for a day off of work and couldn’t play it all day. I mean I went to go do something else, but dang dude. I could have been working.
Unfortunately these 2 Capcom games are not the only ones. I have tried to buy several of the PS1 games released only to find they are only available to only PS+ Elite subscribers and not purchasable.
I pre ordered jedi power battles. So happy. Want to buy dino crisis with trophy support I do have the highest tier service. I just wanna buy my old stuff back.

Fun Fact = Someone is making a remaster of the game using modern game engine and mechanics but still sticking to the survival horror theme. Dino Crisis remaster project feels sorta like Resident Evil 2 remaster project. HOWEVER, I don't know if the Dino Crisis Remaster project is sanctioned by Capcom. It could be an indie development where a fan got sick and tired of Capcom being CRAPcom and never remastering Dino Crisis, and hence, deciding to take matters into their own hands by making the remaster themselves. I've seen some videos of it on RUclips. Go and investigate it if you want.

Capcom is capwrong for this
💯
Same thing with ape escape 2 you can't buy the game itself, you need a ps premium membership to play it on PS5
Remaster would be better then a remake has the original dino crisis was bloody good tons of puzzles to do and just a right amount of ammo for your 3 weapons.
There's a free fan remake for Windows called Dino Crisis Rebirth that looks awesome.
Sony :"You can play it, but you need to subscribe to PS Plus ... DELUXE"
Me : "OOOOOOOooooooOooo.... Who lives in a pineaple under the sea??"
Imagine how excited I am to see any og Metroid game behind a subscription service rather than being able to just buy them.
I was going to buy it until I realized it was only for premium subscribers
I wanted a physical collection and not the worst possible way....
Nope
Dark Cloud mentioned 🗿
Lol, its their loss. Its not like people are gonna subscribe to borrowing games when they want to buy it in the first place.
Unfortunately and surprisingly, there are many cash cows out there that don’t mind blowing money and not owning jack
I don't mind it I just wanna play it but what does piss me off is they haven't added RE3 original on there yet cause that's my favorite RE 😢
The main selling points for the PS4/5 release appear to be up-rendering and custom filters. DuckStation has all of that.
Nah, I'll play it on my PS3, emulate or wait for GOG (which has RE1-3).
Trophies don't add any value for me and even if they sold it separately for PS4/5, we would just need to buy it again.
Capcom needs to let us buy it separately
They make us pay again for what we already own on discs it is insane and they don’t even release good games…
I thought Sony made another PlayStation Classic console LMAO
The PlayStation 2 classic I would love that
What happens if they start making exclusive games only available through a subscription service you ask... Yoo hoo yoo hoo a pirate's life for me.
Subscriptions are a big reason why i just had my ps2 modded and can play both ps1 and ps2 right off my system.
To.make subscription services worth it we'd need a good 10+ games being added every month.
I think the main reason is that the game director doesn't want to do a remake. So Capcom doesn't want to get anyone's hopes up.
This was the most disappointing news all year. At least there's my PC and Retro Achievements.
The original Resident Evil 1 is also locked behind the paywall, only in Europe can it be bought....
Why does it have trophies/ achievements matters. All that matter if you are interested and injoying the game or not
I think it’s more people are seeing this as a lacy move and it shows a remaster or remake won’t happen
So I know there is some issues with all this but I am soooo happy I came across your video. I had NOOOO idea this was on PlayStation Plus!! I'm super excited to play this ❤ Dino Crisis hasn't been on my screen since I was kid. This is very exciting for me. I'm running to download it nooooowwww. PS I really wish I could buy the game :/
I'm rhe same way I prefer the disc option as then I know this my copy. Something lot of people are realizing with the recent whackyness surrounding buying games on various stores such as steam and the Playstation store
what's the music played in back ground?
All hail 🏴☠️🏴☠️ and emulators
I purchased re1 on ps5 for 9.99 the price was hidden under the ... Menu, however dino crisis has no such hidden price.
This is why I still have my old consoles. It is fucking unfathomable to me that it's 2024 and there has been no modern port of the original resident evil 2 or 3!!! Am I taking crazy pills? Get ready to bust out 80+ minimum if you want to play them.
Time to call in the TF2 Engineer and have him design a PC Port for Dino Crisis.
Original and/or emulation is your friend. Always.
Absolutely. The only remake I care about is the FF7 series, and that's because it's way more than just a cosmetic makeover of the PS1 game. If there's an original version of a game on PS1/2/3, I'll download the ISO or buy it used on Ebay.
The whole " you bought it once you'll buy it again" mentality only works with Minecraft and Kingdom hearts 😂
You forgot Skyrim :D
@@KEEYBLADE 100%😂
and GTA 5
xD
And Resident Evil 4
Duckstation. 👍
Nevermind trophy support. They could have updates controls on DC
Unfortunately these 2 Capcom games are not the only ones. I have tried to buy several of the PS1 games released only to find they are only available to only PS+ Elite subscribers and not purchasable.
I got it digital on the ps3 a month ago so I’ll just be sticking with that
Can you imagine with today's graphics how Dino Crisis would look just imagine a Plesiosaur attacking you as you walk past water damn that would be lit
You don't have to imagine it. Check out the fan remake Dino Crisis Rebirth.
I pre ordered jedi power battles. So happy. Want to buy dino crisis with trophy support
I do have the highest tier service. I just wanna buy my old stuff back.
I never payed any console subscriptions, and I'm not planing to. As the saying goes "If buying isn’t owning, then piracy isn’t theft." Also, emulation machines are selling like hotcakes this year. 😋 I'm planing to get me a fancy shmancy "RG Cube." It'll look nice next to my Anbernic SP 👌
I don't know I wish I could just find a place with physical copies because you even are hearing if you Read that giant users/Buyer agreement we clicked on in most cases we technically don't even own em , Heck sometimes these people are even pressing buttons that completely remove the games and or movies from our libraries 😮
Think about switching from Netflix to Blu-ray.
Classic re-releases from Sony and Nintendo are a mess, compared to pirated alternatives. I wish this wasn't the case for people who want to play them by legal means, but here we are...
Make it both this way they make money from the people buying it and they get money every month over the subscription
It's now on sale 10 bucks. It's an absolute steal for this gem.
Fam! I like wanted to go back and replay Directors Cut. And then they locked my purchase behind a paywall. x_x
It's not Sony It's Capcom. They did the same thing with Resident Evil 1 (PS1 Version) back when it released. For some reason they're only letting their PS1 classics be available via PS Plus Premium.
I think you can still get it on PS3 digital, but other than the physical disc PS1 or get your PS3 or PS4 soft modded.
Well then... Drink up me hearties yo ho yo ho
I'll drink to that 🍻🎶
