Thank you for a comprehensive video. I tried progressive lenses a few months ago. I did not like them and went back to bifocals. I spend much of my day in front of a computer, and it is in this area i.e. 18-24 inches that progressives performed the worst. I had a detailed discussion with the optician, optometrist, and lab technicians and they all agreed they could not make what my eyes needed. (I do understand a thing or two about the physics part of optics.) I use two pairs of bifocal glasses: one for distance + near and one for intermediate + near.

i have used progressive lense and believe me it is not suitable for use . you constantly need to move your head to bring the right portion of lenses in front of your eyes . both side accurate lenses part are never in proper position , if one eye have correct lense portion other does not .Close vision is always blurry because of one side of eyes . so bifocal is much better .

Do not select shell frames for progressive lenses. Go for adjustable nose pad type metal frames.
On selecting the metal frames make the nose pads brought to the middle. This way adjustment after fixing the lenses will become easy.
After making the nose pad adjustment with the dummy plastics fixed in the new frame, now mark the pupillary distance ( pd ). After this you can choose your suitable lenses and the opticians will send it for fixing the correct power as recommended by Drs./Optometrist
Always re check the lens power with the optometrist who are experts before placing the order.
Very rarely few people can not adopt to the progressive.
The above information reaches to you after my personal experience as a user.
( Not a Dr or Optometrist)
Sofar I have changed four times at the regular intervals of three years, unless scratched or chipped. ( for the past twenty years I am using progressive )

I enjoy your videos and would value your advice. I bought wide adaptive progressive lenses from LeskKart, but I'm having trouble using them. Even a small movement distorts my vision. I thought expensive wide progressives would solve the issue, but they haven't helped. Now, I'm thinking of trying trifocal lenses instead. I spend most of my day working on a desktop computer at an intermediate distance. My prescription is +1 for distance with an add of +1.5 for reading. Could you recommend an alternative to progressive lenses?

I am using the specs for 30+ years. Whatever new comes I try it first. When lenses come I tried them. Not comfortable, lot of problems. Then I reverted back to spec. Then after many years progressive come. I am one of the first adapter. I used them for more than 5 years. The problem with them is when I am using computer, I did not get the clarity as required no matter what I tried. Second overall clarity is not good since it is varying in number from top to bottom. Third, in the beginning the price are not much. But now the prices are very high for progressive. It takes lot of time to adjust to new specs even if the number has not changed and I got new spec. In this case I cannot switch between old and new. Now I am 50+ and my problem got worse. Now up to 1 ft, I can read properly without spec. Here progressive is a problem for me. Finally I discussed with optician at the shop and found my own solution. I opted for number for short vision only for working for computer. It starts after 1 ft and up to 3-4 feet. This range is very comfortable for me working at computer and also goes well for me at home or working area. I do not need to change for long distance spec. Even if I go out with this specs it works well for me even for long distance. I get 50-60% clarity and that is good for me. Only in the night it goes below it and that is ok. This adjustment with the discussion with optician solved my problem. Now I got one long distance spec for out with dark shade detachable and it works great, but I use them rarely. Finally for progressive, for me big NO.
