Those days in 1970s i used to work in Kuwait. We had to travel a lot in the got Arabian desert in Magwa gas fields of Kuwait. As we crisscrossed in the desert in our Toyata Hilux pickup truck these soothing voice of Yesudas blaring from our pickup's tape recorder would bring such comfort and pleasure which used to make us forget the treacherous and torid desert's sun and sand of the harsh desert.
Bcoz bollywood is all urduwised , he came from the learning of bhartiya hindi ,not urdu hindi ,& anayways he did films which are more bharat centric than Urdu centric
As some one who has great passion for hearing songs and has heard literally thousands of songs in various languages till date, there is no doubt in my mind that this is the greatest play back singer our nation has ever produced. A voice as if from heaven, every genre of songs to utmost perfection , thousands of songs in almost all Indian languages & even foreign languages, adequate feel....he takes the title.
