And from a lack of evidence, how can she draw ANY conclusions? But she does - and ALWAYS against trans healthcare.

The infuriating part of this is, that they hand out these irreversible hormones to innocent children, while women going through menopause who actually NEED testosterone replacement can't bloody get it. M6 child was refferred to GIDS. My child and I discussed things fully and we pondered the potential interventions, and decided it would be best to wait, and not push forward at that time. I couldnt in good concience sign of o anything that would amount to an alteration. I would however, ho,d her hand throughout once she reached the age of conscent. I just couldnt barecthe thought that she might one day tell me that i had made the wrong choice. Its not a mistake i couldmlive with. We never went ahead with the referral, and two years later, my child rediscovered her inner woman, and is happier and healthier than ever. I genuinely dread to think of differently things could have turned out. 8m s9 proud of her for f8nding her way through that, and f8nd8ng herself. Thats an inspiration, and I tell people all the time, because people need to know that transitioning is no guarenteed 4ainbow and sprinkle happy ever after. Its ok to turn back at any time and itsbok to be happy.

I have a friend who had the biggest nose, perhaps it sounds funny, but it wasn't, for her 18th birthday her parents paid for a rhinoplasty, the law wouldn't permit any earlier and she lived through it, knowing she would get it fixed in the future. I also had a friend who developed very early and sometimes boys teased her and she had backaches while she was still a kid. It was the same story, parents facilitated augmentation when she turned 18, again, she got through it knowing the change would come in the future, if she still wanted it.

Regarding full 'transition', you may get accurate de-transitioned figures but they will not tally with transition regret figures because a number will never admit to their mistake, even though they know it in a closed off part of their brain. They will just continue through life in broken bodies, because they know they cannot ever be fixed. To admit their (and others) mistake is to incite deep depression and its fatal consequence. This may change after the first court case being won awarding millions of £ in compensation.
I honestly don’t think you should even start using words like transsexual until kids are at least 16. When I was a kid I was desperate to be a boy.. it had nothing to do with sexuality, it had to do with me just having undiagnosed anxiety. I was so self conscious. I had 2 older sisters and they walked around like princesses and spent hours on their hair and make up.. i was so scared to be a “girl” when I looked at that. I was a “tomboy” for a very long time, BUT once i FINALLY started having some confidence I really embraced my looks and finally understood that being a girl didn’t mean you were a helpless little princess, which is how my sisters acted, and which was so confusing to me. Now that I’m an adult, I look back and realize I was just very anxious and was scared to be a girl because I wasn’t ready to wear pretty dresses and be looked at by boys in that way. That’s all it was, it was fear. As I grew up that went away. IF someone would have told me I was transsexual when I was 7 or 8 just because I was jealous that boys didn’t have to wear dresses and make up, and I was scared people thinking I looked “pretty” it would have completely ruined my life. Once I had dealt with my anxiety I couldn’t wait to dress up (sometimes) and be looked at by people o was comfortable with. I’m just so relieved that terms like trans weren’t thrown at me.. it would have made everything so much more confusing and scary. I didn’t want to really be a boy, I just didn’t want people looking at me the way they looked at my sisters. I was just scared.

Hitting pause on puberty prevents the problem from getting worse. But Cass didn't bother to add that detail. Instead she pointed out that pausing puberty didn't fix the problem.

The whole point is that the actual trans results are patchy, and the evidential base is poor, so no responsible medical health service can back current practice as the “standard of care”
As a patient in the NHS I expect it to fully evaluate all tests and treatments they recommend before doing so. If not they’ll end up wasting money, harming patients etc. by promoting quackery.

The Cass report didn't create new data. It selectively picked studies and reports that fit their narrative.
There are over 103 studies that provide evidence that puberty blockers are safe for teens. She decided 101 don't count because they weren't double-blind.
Is a double-blind study on suppressing teen puberty even possible? The controls would become dead obvious within a few months.
And from a lack of evidence, how can she draw ANY conclusions? But she does - and ALWAYS against trans healthcare.

I never understood how puberty blockers could be reversible. Reversible indicates that you can go back and start from the beginning. But they can't. That growth and time is gone. It's lingalier poop. And we don't know what's important during puberty. Maybe that first year of puberty is the most important. Maybe the third year is. We don't know. But we think it's a good idea to press pause on that while everything else continues to move forward. So you're reproductive organs aren't growing but everything else is. But somehow it's supposed to be reversible? No it's not.
Most minors haven't got a clue what they are doing or how they are feel from day to day, leave kids alone and let them grow up a little first and figure out who they are before life changing alterations
Most kids try to please the adults around them, and they will "go along" with the adults they are supposed to be able to trust - but who mutilate, and chemically poison their young bodies. Many of those children grown up are not happy with the changes forced upon them as young children.

M6 child was refferred to GIDS.
My child and I discussed things fully and we pondered the potential interventions, and decided it would be best to wait, and not push forward at that time.
I couldnt in good concience sign of o anything that would amount to an alteration. I would however, ho,d her hand throughout once she reached the age of conscent. I just couldnt barecthe thought that she might one day tell me that i had made the wrong choice. Its not a mistake i couldmlive with.
We never went ahead with the referral, and two years later, my child rediscovered her inner woman, and is happier and healthier than ever.
I genuinely dread to think of differently things could have turned out.

One way to approach the (disgraceful) doctors who say that data on paediatric treatments is hard to come by, is to ask them, “How can you defend the lies you told to shut down dissent, like, ‘The science is settled’ ”.
Followed by, “Why should we believe anything you say ever again, so wantonly have you failed to first, do no harm.”
Be interesting to see how many of these 9000 children are either in the mental health system, committed suicide or detransistioned. Also, how many of them regretted what happened to them.

medical consent changes with age and maturity. at the youngest ages, consent from the child is not required to ethically practice medicine. around twelve they’re able to make informed decisions, though parental consent being required is the norm. ethically it’s a lot more nuanced and situational.

People get up in arms at female genital mutilation in Africa and places but they are doing worse here in the NHS.
I have a friend who had the biggest nose, perhaps it sounds funny, but it wasn't, for her 18th birthday her parents paid for a rhinoplasty, the law wouldn't permit any earlier and she lived through it, knowing she would get it fixed in the future. I also had a friend who developed very early and sometimes boys teased her and she had backaches while she was still a kid. It was the same story, parents facilitated augmentation when she turned 18, again, she got through it knowing the change would come in the future, if she still wanted it.
I don’t think anyone was surprised anything relating to this subject was going to be highly controversial due to the amount of activism surrounding it.

Regarding full 'transition', you may get accurate de-transitioned figures but they will not tally with transition regret figures because a number will never admit to their mistake, even though they know it in a closed off part of their brain.
They will just continue through life in broken bodies, because they know they cannot ever be fixed.
To admit their (and others) mistake is to incite deep depression and its fatal consequence.
This may change after the first court case being won awarding millions of £ in compensation.

I honestly don’t think you should even start using words like transsexual until kids are at least 16.
When I was a kid I was desperate to be a boy.. it had nothing to do with sexuality, it had to do with me just having undiagnosed anxiety. I was so self conscious.
I had 2 older sisters and they walked around like princesses and spent hours on their hair and make up.. i was so scared to be a “girl” when I looked at that.
I was a “tomboy” for a very long time, BUT once i FINALLY started having some confidence I really embraced my looks and finally understood that being a girl didn’t mean you were a helpless little princess, which is how my sisters acted, and which was so confusing to me.
Now that I’m an adult, I look back and realize I was just very anxious and was scared to be a girl because I wasn’t ready to wear pretty dresses and be looked at by boys in that way.
That’s all it was, it was fear. As I grew up that went away.
IF someone would have told me I was transsexual when I was 7 or 8 just because I was jealous that boys didn’t have to wear dresses and make up, and I was scared people thinking I looked “pretty” it would have completely ruined my life.
Once I had dealt with my anxiety I couldn’t wait to dress up (sometimes) and be looked at by people o was comfortable with. I’m just so relieved that terms like trans weren’t thrown at me.. it would have made everything so much more confusing and scary.
I didn’t want to really be a boy, I just didn’t want people looking at me the way they looked at my sisters. I was just scared.
What responsibilities should the parents be taking in all of this
