The closing ceremony was nothing but disappointing. The opening light show was the only savior, but the rest is … incoherent. There were random street performers doing their own things one after another. I was not sure what the creator was trying to convey as a whole. Many Japanese audience felt shocked, puzzled and put to shame as it unfolded on tv screen. It’s easy to blame COVID-19. It is a shame that we have no creators in Japan to fill this olympics stage with ginormous epic, telling a story.

For countries affected by military aggression, the Rising Sun Flag is no different from Germany's Nazi Hakenkreuz. If Japan wants to uphold the Olympic spirit, its designs and comments should never be used on the Olympic stage, and the person in charge should apologize.
Japan is the perpetrator of the invasion of Asia and the country that suffered damage from the atomic bomb. Japan is increasingly removing or denying the facts of the perpetrators, highlighting only the damage they have suffered.
As everyone knows, the origin of the Olympics is 'peace'. For that reason, it is a principle to exclude 'political acts' that harm 'unity' in the Olympics. But what about the 2021 Tokyo Olympics? Japan, the host country, began to use the Tokyo Olympics thoroughly politically, claiming sovereignty over Dokdo by marking Dokdo, a Korean island, on the Japanese map posted on the Tokyo Olympic website.
Of course, hosting the Olympics is a global festival that raises the status of a nation, so it is bound to entail efforts to express the status of one's country. The act of rationalizing the war that Japan has caused by permitting the use of the Rising Sun Flag, a flag that symbolizes Japanese militarism as a military flag used during World War II, violates the spirit of the Olympics and is suspicious of its qualifications as an Olympic host country.
In particular, while the use of the Hakenkreuz, a symbol of Germany's Nazis, is strictly prohibited, in Japan, the Rising Sun flag is often used in Japan's far-right wing, which still denies the history of aggression, or in support of sporting events, causing a lot of controversy. The attitude of the IOC, which tolerates the use of the Rising Sun flag, is also problematic.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics successfully held under the shadow of once in a century global pandemic drew to a close on Sunday 8 August 2021.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic successfully held under the shadow of once in a century global pandemic drew to a close on Sunday, 8 August 2021. These were reported to have been held amid extraordinary restrictions and mostly behind closed doors, with athletic feats performed for a world still struggling against the coronavirus. The world was able to watch the competitive feats of athletes in TV Channels or online. Credit goes to Japanese government and management committee to bring it to great conclusion without reports of pressure whether it was possible to accomplish during worrisome concerns of pandemic.
In this context, it may be apt to refer readers to this Vedic astrology writer’s related prediction in article shared widely with Japanese news media last year on 16 September, which reads as follows:-
“( 6 ). A further period of one and a half months covering second half of July and August in 2021 look to be stepping up endeavors towards economic sector growth. Some positive things can come up in relation to health , particularly Covid-19. Some ambitious or strength-giving program can take place with some success”.
Yes, the ambitious program took place in Tokyo from 23 July to 8 August in 2021. It can be perceived that successful conclusion of Olympics must have given strength to Japanese people. Yes, news reported some spike in positive cases of coronavirus in Japan during the period.
It seems the prediction may have served the purpose.

Japan to allow the Rising Sun flag in the Olympics
The Rising Sun Flag is a flag that symbolizes the sun spreading in 16 branches around the sun in an existing red circle. The Japanese government is in a position to allow the Rising Sun flag at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They maintain the attitude that "they have no political intent and are merely a flag widely used in Japan."
The Rising Sun Flag, which was the flag of the former Japanese Empire in the 19th century, is remembered as a “symbol of Japanese militarism” in Korea and China, which were victims of Japanese military aggression in the 20th century. The Japanese government is using the flag symbolizing war crimes even though it has paid due compensation to the victims and has not fully reflected on its own history. In fact, the Rising Sun Flag is the flag of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and is the flag used by far-right forces in Japan.
For this reason, the South Korean government has criticized the “Rising Sun Flag as a flag of hatred.” Harrison Kim, an associate professor of history at the University of Hawaii, analyzed Japan's behavior, saying, "The current Japanese government has been neglecting the rise of extreme nationalist forces and has been using nationalist expressions politically."

I think people should really get over it. They have paid compensation and apologize multiple times. What more do people want? When we want to speak about atrocities every country have their own fair share of ugly deeds. I dont recall China or South Korea ever apologizing for their own misdeeds.

The Olympics must not exhibit any political or biased tendencies. The host country, Japan, is also disseminating this information to athletes and officials who participated in the Olympics.
But Japan, meanwhile, asked the IOC to require that athletes who participated in the Olympics pay a silent tribute to the victims on the day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
The dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima was not an easy decision made by the United States, the Allied Powers at the time, in that Japan, a war criminal country, did not give up on the war and continued to kill innocent people. Remembrance of the victims of the atomic bombing is no different from forcing people to visit Japanese shrines.
This double aspect of Japan does not qualify as a host country for the Olympics, a place of global harmony, and even after the IOC rejected Japan's request to commemorate the atomic bombing unofficially, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Committee said they plans to include a performance that commemorate the victims of the atomic bombing in this Olympic closing ceremony.
This proves that Japan has not yet abandoned its role as a war criminal country rather than an Olympic host country. I hope that the people of the world will face this double aspect of Japan and correct their misconceptions about Japan. I also demand the IOC not to tolerate this double act of Japan, the host country of the Olympics, and take corresponding measures.
And Dokdo is the island of the Republic of Korea. But Tokyo Olympics committee marked the Dokdo as same color with japan island. As I know, United by emotion is the moto of this Olympic. But I'd like to ask Japan government and Tokyo Olympic Committee. Are you really believe you're operating this Olympic not to shame on the moto? I'm sick of Japan government 's twofold and double-faced aspect. I believe that is the real self of Japan which is deeply hidden. And Is IOC a puppet of Japan? If not, how can IOC just ignore these rude and foolish actions of Tokyo Olympic Committee? IOC can also be said to be irresponsible.

Because of the covid they spend billions for this inspite they know no income will return because no audience/spectator(foreign or locals)allowed that should bought tickets maybe that's why they opted not to make it extravagant to no longer spend so much money if it weren't for covid maybe it's a different story.

Japan and Germany are compared in the case of forced labor and comfort women. This is not a matter of Korea-Japan relations or national relations, it is a matter of war crimes. Germany has admitted to the crime, made practicable reparations, and Chancellor Willy Brandt got down on his knees and apologized. Conversely, Japan turned to the anti-Japanese sentiment of the Korean people and covered up their war crimes.
I think Japan's attitude is close to the essence of history. I had been in Japan for about 3 years, and I was quite surprised to see that Japanese people had no war criminal consciousness at all. They only thought of themselves as victims of the atomic bomb. The defeat in World War II was an opportunity to abolish not only militarism but ultimately the imperial system, but the United States interfered with it, such as granting indulgences to the emperor. Since modern times, Europe, Britain, and the United States have mainly targeted China and used Japan as an ally.
If the Japanese perspective does not change, there will be no peace in East Asia. The root of the East Asian problem is the Japanese right wing.
Japan must first come up with a solution to the issue of comfort women and forced labor. The solution isn't great. It is to admit that the issues of colonial rule and aggression, which were not recognized even in the 1965 Korea-Japan agreement, were illegal and cannot be justified, and even pretend to apologize and compensate. If not, Japan should be ashamed.
