Hello! I would really appreciate your advice. I keep going back and forth on the best path to becoming a Data Scientist. I currently work as a Hotel Revenue Manager for a Casino Hotel. I use SQL to pull data inside of Google Big Query and present to our leadership team using Power BI. How would you make the jump to becoming a Data Scientist? Would I need to become a Data Analyst first? Do I need to go get a Master's in DS? Is getting a Data camp/Google certificate enough to begin applying?
Data Analyst is not a pre-requisite to becoming data scientist, so something to consider as you make that transition. I am actually doing a video on this data analyst to data scientist transition and common skillset. Based on what you shared, it seems you are already doing some data analyst focus work in your current job so that's great. You are great practical experience in data analytics. In respect to choosing how to learn data science, tbh it depends on your personal learning style.
