Bystials help the deck aswell because it gives them access to baron with the scraps alongside their already powerfull lineup with appo/elf, Uct, the Borrel synchro and the rank 4 evolsaurs.
I've gotten a lot of of mileage off them, but going second is gonna become way worse soon, since Dinos just can't play through Ariseheart. The babies need to hit the GY to trigger.
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 Thats a good point. We might need to switch to going 1st, depending on how centrelizing Arise will be. Atleast Utc is a better book of moon and the dino endboard is still quite powerfull. The future support will help quite a bit too.
Kashtira fenrir single-handedly shutting down some archetypes that rely on their normal summon is one of the most cancer things ever. I literally lost to fenrir beatdown many times as i was playing pure live twin because i didn't draw an imperm or live twin home.
tbh i just cant really see tearlaments being anything after the banlist, at least as a deck on its own? Whats the endboard look like, with the best mills and zero interruptions, kitkalos + trap? Kaleido-heart/rulkalos + cryme/suliek? And yeah kitalos is a insane card, sure, but she on her own doesnt do anything. she just facilitates mills, which is why she can be replaced with the magic dragon.
Honestly surprised he put Tear in tier 1 when the deck can hardly do anything on its own. As an engine maybe it can be decent, but as of right now it's a tier 3 deck at best.
I think Traptrix is slightly better than this list suggests. Still Tier 2 for sure, but i think it's definitely stronger than Mathmech and Dracoslayer, probably even pre-Ariseheart Kashtira (maybe they're a little more even). I went up against Dracoslayer for the first time the other day, just clicked buttons because i had no idea what the choke points were, and i somehow won anyway It definitely struggles going second quite a bit more than something like Lab does, but i think the idea of "going second means you auto lose" is largely just not true anymore Also Abyss Actor thoughts :)
I love how every list that has Tri-Spright you go "I don't know a thing about the deck but it is great"... I know your relationship with Runick, but It is a fun version of Spright. I would really love to see you experimenting with it.
I've build a 40-ish Branded Tear deck which literally always sees Branded Fusion (for real, the deck never struggled with that in the first place, it's always been about resolving it). Branded in High Spirits plus a Tear name goes into Tear plays and searches your Springans Kitt, which you summon after to search Branded Fusion (Or sometimes Branded in White cause you mill your Albaz's). Only 1 Reino cause that is the worst NS in the deck, still searchable with Kitkallos. And minimum 2 Saronir cause you'd be able to grab a milled Branded Fusion from the GY with Branded Retribution or vice versa (same with Main Deck Albion). Main Deck Lubellion just for the Branded Lost. And the deck is a heck ton of fun, but you don't really have space for non engine. 3 C 2 Called was the best I could do.
then you didn't play that much rank-up duels. Masterduel literally gives you the worst possible hands in those matches. I cannot tell you how many times I went through the same thing just today to get to master rank. I probably played more than 6 rank-up duels in which most of them the hands i got were the same (a lot of one ofs that i dont want in my hand e.g. snow). The game sucks in that regard no matter how good your deck is.
I think putting tear in tier 1 when we dont even have a standard list yet doesnt seem correct to me. The few tournaments where the new banlist is in effect, tear is not performing. Maybe a "has potential" category, but tier 1, I dont see it
Loving your content! Im a returning yugioh player trying out master duel for the first time. I wanted to ask if you think Blackwings are still playable, they were my favorite deck back in the day :3
From what I've seen they are prone to bricking but a full board as a combo deck is basically a win. Being a field omni negate, 2100 burn damage for a monster effect, and a monster banish. Though I don't think that board is very consistent but if done is basically unstoppable
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO I stopped playing right around when Dragon Rulers were released but its the only deck I’m still somewhat familiarized with when I played in the TCG. Love synchros to bits but if there’s a deck thats somewhat similar I’d love to give it a try!
Hear me out. Branded Runic tearlamant but only using 2 scherien and 1 havnis its just there to make a dragostapalia with huggin to cycle it or itll make kotkallos and send havnis to mske rulkallos But the main idea of the d3ck is if you dont draw into brand3d engine you make a andaconda and go into it that way by sending andaconda and an albaz as cost
I've been playing punk bystial for a while now and it's great, shenshen or wolfrayet + sharakusai & dragon drive/dragite for more interruption depending on the deck.
16-17% of all games going first will have your opponent be on maxx c without you having an answer (considering crossout, ash, called by are run at max). Not around 30%.
Thoughts on Crystal Beast and Dino (combo builds)? I've personally gotten a lot of mileage from them, near-effortlessly reaching Master, despite the tremendous handicap of refusing to play Maxx C on the decks.
Rikka is a deck that can absolutely play under Maxx C. I would argue it’s one of the best decks against Maxx C, simply because you can set up field spell and trap card with 1 summon.
@@rileyvantriethurts like every other combo deck. At least in the end you'll have an Omni negate + spell negate if you manage to attach a spell on the lvl 9 xyz
i just reached MASTER with flooowandereeze, for this meta maybe floow deserves at least a t2 rating. it has a lot of good matchups and can still do something
Branded-D is now less consistent *overall* , but everyone coping by adding Branded Lost and a third Super Poly, even when it takes them to 41 cards makes the deck fairly infuriating to face when the stars do align. Edit: One hopes the next wave of Kash stuff gets the Preemptive Fateful Treatment.
Hey Joshua, what are your thoughts on Unchained? I’ve played them quite a bit and I do like them, but how competitive do you think they can be? Thanks 🙏
You say Swordsoul has room for a lot of handtraps. Is that also true for a going-second build, which might benefit more from boardbreakers or extenders such as the Tenyi (which can also help breaking boards)?
This new ban list is pretty good. I've been trying tear post ban list and now it's going to evolve into a better deck now. I've made a build with pure and branded, the branded build is straight gas!!! The pure build you have play a lot smarter and conservative. I've been thinking about playing Thunder dragon for new ban list some because that deck did not get hit and it focus on banish.

As a maximum coper that has been playing Sky Striker since day 1, what do you think the deck could receive to make it at least high tier 2/low tier 1.5? I don’t think Engage to 3 would change anything at all, like sure, that lets you maybe cut some striker cards for extra non-engine, but the deck already runs like 20 non-engine and evidently it is not enough lmao. I don’t even think that Camelia would matter, she just makes your worst hands (multiple bodies) into one (1) extra spell in gy for count and/or a pre-combat search by spending your Kagari, which neither is gamechanging…
Sky Striker doesnt need new cards really, it needs a change of pace. Other decks need to be a little bit slower for it to really shine, right now most decks will overwhelm it in the first 1 or 2 turns
right now the latest pack was released in master duel and includes "duality" and "shadow's light", that can be used in dragon link, do you consider worth the UR points to craft them?
I'm 100% agree with your feelings about the Naturia Runick Deck. I used it for the Wolrd ChampionShip Qualifier (Dlv 20 Reached) and for the ranked to Master, and I got a lot of victory, I'm the first suprised. This Deck is so good and fun fact I never see it against me.
As a drytron player in the tcg, yeah this deck is not insane at all in MD In the tcg we have shifter, droll and bystial in side or main so its kinda weird but more playable for sure, also 3 benten
As a drytron player, I'm finally on crossout designator lol. I've found the deck plays very similarly in md as it did in nationals season of 2022...that's when I was going undefeated by the way. Basically 2 Benten is enough to either play vanity's ruler (which was my tcg preference at that time) or for a better md matchup go for a full turn skip with amorphactor pain (which really makes maxx c feel like shit lol)
So rn, im having some actual fun and success with 2 kashtira synchro variations, one featuring speedroids and one being a mix of kashtira, punk and bystial control. Yes, sometimes there are some dead cards, at least in the second one, but they work surprisingly well. Any thoughts?
I’ve been playing punk with kashtira cards and it feels pretty solid so far. There are dead hands like you said, but the deck is still pretty alright. I guess that with the few cards it has rn kash is mainly going to be used as an engine for other decks
I played it in the TCG a lot during TOSS and it was my first deck that i made in MD. I feel like the deck is better equipped for the BO1 format then other pend decks since you can actually go second with good hands. I would say its the definition of rogue in the current Meta. You can sometimes absolutely demolish people going first and second winning a lot of games in a row but on the other hand i had 10+ loosing streaks where i got hit by maxx-c without access to some quick negates or just bricked.
@@domimomi3954 yeah that's true, Maxx C does give it problems since you can't really run hand traps in a pendulum engine. I know one guy won one of the duelist cups with it though and I got top 100 with it so I feel like it's still a really solid deck. But like you said, sometimes you go on streaks without getting Maxx C'ed and the deck feels unstoppable, sometimes you get Maxx C'ed a bunch in a row and just lose. If they ever ban Maxx C though, easy top tier deck.
The other Kashtira support their will be released late. Even next pack September will be expected received purrely, Rescue-ACE and Mikanko completely skip Kashtira. If this keeps continue happen, we might get mannadium 1st together with veda over Kashtira and MD have to deal and MD have to deal skip 1 turn from veda artype.
Dino can blind second into basically all of the boards these decks make (except like shifter in exo) and doesn't care about bystials (or you can go first al lose to maxx c).
GKs only need two or three cards to make it amazing…it’s still my favorite and if you could use supernaturalist ability to draw durning mp2 and set/play instead of waiting a turn the deck might be top tier right now💯💯💯
Hey, Ghoti main here, and probably one of the only Ghoti players left in MD (there's probably more, but I'm just being overdramatic lmfao). Tell me what you think of Ghoti. I know it's most likely bad, but even still.. I will always love and play my neat cosmic abyssal fish.
They use different banlists, so different decks will have different power levels due to certain cards being banned in one format and not the other, like how Maxx C is legal in Master Duel but not in the TCG.
There have been 2.5 days passed, it seems that tearlament have gone. Now there are no tearlament player on Master 1. The regulation of tearlament is very effective and even branded tearlament hardly see in Masterduel.
Dissatisfied with the ridiculous amount of summonings per match I'd like to point out that competition affects all of us. I'm impressed with the high volume of rarity in most decks that circulate Master Duel yet I'm left asking myself if any of those decks would survive under different scrutiny. To answer my own question I think most decks would fall flat on their face since the core mechanics are constantly ignored. Furthermore the misrepresentation of the rarest cards leaves me baffled. The introduction of Rush Duels was much needed in my personal opinion.
Why would bystial usage stop if you still think tear and laby are still tier 1, along with the actual tier 1 dragon link, and consistent tier 2 branded despia?
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO oooooo got ya, I was thinking tournament wise, master rank wise you're right, that definitely makes sense to me. Thank you for the reply!

Heroes deck tier 3 is very nice this deck is stronger versus méta tier deck and tier 2 on last week and Master duel méta Heroes top deck in tcg and Master duel
I gotta disagree on Swordsoul being 'mid' tier two, it's bordering on tier 1 imo. Swordsoul may not have flashy endboards, and it only gets to its floodgate once in a blue moon, but it has an unparalleled ability to go first or second and somehow almost always end on two negates. The deck isn't the best but it never feels terrible.
what makes you think swordsoul is on par with decks like spright, tear and dragon link right now? the chokepoint is too obvious with swordsoul unless you draw insane amount of extender
@@rakarespati5074 like I said, it's not the best, but few decks can break those decks endboards like Swordsoul can.
Play droplet, its good in live twin
you destory or banish them and they get summoned back all next turn lol I hate them
How about making a rouge deck tierlist. That could be fun.
Good idea imo.
Tier 3 is basically rogue in Diamond/Master Rank. They're only truly Tier 3 when ya have to deal with the randoms in gold and plat.
The word is ROGUE
@@matchanavi no no, hear me out, a deck with only rouge colored monsters
like Kashtira
tbh i just cant really see tearlaments being anything after the banlist, at least as a deck on its own? Whats the endboard look like, with the best mills and zero interruptions, kitkalos + trap? Kaleido-heart/rulkalos + cryme/suliek? And yeah kitalos is a insane card, sure, but she on her own doesnt do anything. she just facilitates mills, which is why she can be replaced with the magic dragon.
Honestly surprised he put Tear in tier 1 when the deck can hardly do anything on its own. As an engine maybe it can be decent, but as of right now it's a tier 3 deck at best.
We're just going to pretend Kit's on summon search/send effect doesn't exist now?
I think Traptrix is slightly better than this list suggests. Still Tier 2 for sure, but i think it's definitely stronger than Mathmech and Dracoslayer, probably even pre-Ariseheart Kashtira (maybe they're a little more even). I went up against Dracoslayer for the first time the other day, just clicked buttons because i had no idea what the choke points were, and i somehow won anyway
It definitely struggles going second quite a bit more than something like Lab does, but i think the idea of "going second means you auto lose" is largely just not true anymore
Also Abyss Actor thoughts :)
I love how every list that has Tri-Spright you go "I don't know a thing about the deck but it is great"...
I know your relationship with Runick, but It is a fun version of Spright. I would really love to see you experimenting with it.
Ironically i like tri spright because double non target banish board (revolt shuraig & smasher) gave me that thrill.
The hit on spright names hurt no?
@@weis2098Not that hard
I wanted to ask if you think Blackwings are still playable, they were my favorite deck back in the day :3
they are semi-playable but they are very different from back in the day now, its a combo deck now
I dont know about master duel, but in the TCG the are a decent Combo Deck. If the cards Aren't already in master duel they will probably come soon
@@yazanqubaja7464 I haven’t played since 2015 I think? Whenever the Dragon Rulers were released I can’t quite remember but its been a LONG time
That's why we need Triple Tactics Thrust and the Original Bamboo Sword in Master Duel, so that Sky Striker can take the throne as a top tier deck.
Hear me out. Branded Runic tearlamant but only using 2 scherien and 1 havnis its just there to make a dragostapalia with huggin to cycle it or itll make kotkallos and send havnis to mske rulkallos
But the main idea of the d3ck is if you dont draw into brand3d engine you make a andaconda and go into it that way by sending andaconda and an albaz as cost
Could you make a video of the best decks to use as an engine and why? maybe another tier list video?
How do you feel about Bystial Punk? It can set up ShenShen in only two summons, so I feel like it has some merit over normal Punk
If you don't lead with sun avalon cards I guess. Which doesn't happen every game but happens now and then.
Like the other commenter said, the issue with it is if you start with your Sunavalon engine rather than rikka cards, maxx C hurts much more
@@rileyvantriethurts like every other combo deck. At least in the end you'll have an Omni negate + spell negate if you manage to attach a spell on the lvl 9 xyz
Until your opponent topdecking hfd/ls
And its start to turn into paper
That sounds like copium.
i just reached MASTER with flooowandereeze, for this meta maybe floow deserves at least a t2 rating. it has a lot of good matchups and can still do something
I can't believe you made a tier list without Ghoti or Beetroopers on the list. How could you.
Can you do one on cheaper decks (ideally no URs, although you can include maxx "c" mini game cards)
Hey Joshua, what are your thoughts on Unchained? I’ve played them quite a bit and I do like them, but how competitive do you think they can be? Thanks 🙏
You say Swordsoul has room for a lot of handtraps.
Is that also true for a going-second build, which might benefit more from boardbreakers or extenders such as the Tenyi (which can also help breaking boards)?
in that case you’d probably prefer the breakers, always a very individual decision
As a dlink player for almost 2 years now im really happy to see this, and the top at worlds. Im dreading the upcoming ban list though.
No need to worry, worst comes to worst they’ll just limit the Bystial engine
@@AstrologyGamesas they should, im like one of the last remaining drytron players in master duel and bro..since bystials released like 90% play its so rough
@@knechd7542 oh trust me they’ll catch that nerf once the meta shifts and lights & darks aren’t a big thing and it’s a wider meta and even then the only decks you’ll mainly worry for playing bystial is Dlink & Branded. Drytron is unstoppable if you don’t stop them w hand traps so hold on brother your time is coming again soon! W for still playing them too I do the same w my strikers
@@AstrologyGames yeah bro i believe next banlist orange and benten to 3 (will never happen) and then we could cook with the disco ball and give mr amorphactor pain a break
What do you think of Therions? Punk Therions specifically since Punk is back to being the safer engine to facilitate Therions and we have both Cruler and Mantis rn. On a sidenote, It's a shame Tear Therions never became popular enough for how absurdly good it was.
Also the upcoming leaked decks, especially in Bo1?
PUNK Therions is probably the worst version of PUNK
as a big dark world enjoyer I can with out a doubt say it's tier 3 at make probably rouge because if your oppenent know what they're doing they can stop your gas with ease. I got pure kash to m1 and can say it's definetly tier 3 at best
Watch Arise be banned on release and Tear still dominate 🤣
Started playing during launch, quit like April, have my old VW deck on the account, is an updated version capable of Master 1?
right now the latest pack was released in master duel and includes "duality" and "shadow's light", that can be used in dragon link, do you consider worth the UR points to craft them?
What do you think about the solfachords? Are they any good in bo1
I'm 100% agree with your feelings about the Naturia Runick Deck. I used it for the Wolrd ChampionShip Qualifier (Dlv 20 Reached) and for the ranked to Master, and I got a lot of victory, I'm the first suprised. This Deck is so good and fun fact I never see it against me.
hello !
I used to play phatom knights some times ago. Where would you place it in the list ?
Great video btw
What do you think about Blackwing? How would you classify it in this list?
Where would you put Evil Eyes? This season I easily climbed to Master 1 and I don't really want to olay another deck, but I still want reach Master 1
You forgot about Blackwings 😉
As a drytron player in the tcg, yeah this deck is not insane at all in MD
In the tcg we have shifter, droll and bystial in side or main so its kinda weird but more playable for sure, also 3 benten
I’m also a Drytron player and I cope with bystials by playing inscription at locals
As a drytron player, I'm finally on crossout designator lol. I've found the deck plays very similarly in md as it did in nationals season of 2022...that's when I was going undefeated by the way. Basically 2 Benten is enough to either play vanity's ruler (which was my tcg preference at that time) or for a better md matchup go for a full turn skip with amorphactor pain (which really makes maxx c feel like shit lol)
what about the new blackwing synchro version?
With orcust being at full force now, what do you think about it?
I also want to know if it's worth building
What do you think about the various tomahawk/auroradon turbo decks? E.g. armed dragon kashtira
Fenrir, Elf, I:P into Appo for 3 and Borrelsavage is nearly unbreakable and all that off of 2 7's is broken. However you die to 1 or 2 handtraps
Kashtira is really good cause of tomahawk if you cant stop it cause crossout or called by
Playing Swordsoul/Tenyi + Bystial I've had nice results with the small addition
Heard that Mikanko will come to MD soon, what tier will the deck get?
How would you rate Endymion? I know it's hard to pilot and gets Maxx C'ed like a lot of decks but it seems like the best pendulum variant to me still.
Out of curiosity, where do you think Thunder Dragon/Bystial would fall on this list?
Tier 3
This deck is too fair to be good. If that doesn't sum up the state of Yu-Gi-Oh today I don't know what does 😂
It's been like that since teledad format
I'm guessing you don't know much about the deck, but what do you think about the Agents as a rogue deck
Where would you put purrely? If the leaks are true, it is comming in like two weeks.
Dino can blind second into basically all of the boards these decks make (except like shifter in exo) and doesn't care about bystials (or you can go first al lose to maxx c).
The world champion in the title goes hard
GKs only need two or three cards to make it amazing…it’s still my favorite and if you could use supernaturalist ability to draw durning mp2 and set/play instead of waiting a turn the deck might be top tier right now💯💯💯
That giant card you have on your wall is amazing man. Where did you get it from? I definitely want one now 😂
Hello Mr World champ. It seems you have forgot to include Black Wings. Hopefully BLAAAAACKKKKKKWIIIIIIIIING soon, yes?
Hey, Ghoti main here, and probably one of the only Ghoti players left in MD (there's probably more, but I'm just being overdramatic lmfao).
Tell me what you think of Ghoti. I know it's most likely bad, but even still.. I will always love and play my neat cosmic abyssal fish.
Bit of a noob question - what is the difference between tcg decks and master duel decks?
Is there different cards you can use and why?
They use different banlists, so different decks will have different power levels due to certain cards being banned in one format and not the other, like how Maxx C is legal in Master Duel but not in the TCG.
I see a lot of people trying to run Tear/Spright/Runic builds to try to prepare for the Merrli limit
There have been 2.5 days passed, it seems that tearlament have gone. Now there are no tearlament player on Master 1. The regulation of tearlament is very effective and even branded tearlament hardly see in Masterduel.
Josh, how do you feel about vanquish soul w / DPE?
how do you think purrely will fare in MD?
no sgreat? how dare you not rank my favorite gimmicky rogue deck that dies in a single kashtira turn?
What about Blackwing since it's on the MD meta site
how about zombie punk (60cards with gras and left hand offering) and dinos atm?
What is more powerful Control Labrynth or Furniture Labrynth?
Furniture Labrynth. Especially since MD has limited floodgates, floodgate turbo is all that's good about Trap/Control/Stun Labrynth .
Why would bystial usage stop if you still think tear and laby are still tier 1, along with the actual tier 1 dragon link, and consistent tier 2 branded despia?
idk all im seeing right now in Master Rank is Kashtira
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO oooooo got ya, I was thinking tournament wise, master rank wise you're right, that definitely makes sense to me. Thank you for the reply!
What do you think about bystial thunder dragons, with and without punk engine?
mostly viable as a fun deck but not terrible, i’d say high Tier 3
I cant believe that protos was not banned, ban that freaking card
Danger! Darkworld is the same tier as Pure Darkworld?
Absolutely not. If I recall in the TCG pure Dark World has a ~5% lower win rate than Danger! Dark World... if not worse.
I've been main Naturia Runick since it became legal in MD (also been playing since the banlist after Tear format in TCG), I can totally agree with this decision. You also forgot about Numeron and @Ignister?
Numeron is still the same glass cannon speedrun deck it's always been in MD.
@Ignister is a solid deck to grind to Plat and sometimes Diamond imo
Wasn't gage hard stuck in gold with númeron?
Also ignister is worse marincrss
I smoke most of those t2 decks with drytron. Maxx C me... amorphactor pain cant wait
Is Kash/Runick good ? Seems like they would mix great
Heroes deck tier 3 is very nice this deck is stronger versus méta tier deck and tier 2 on last week and Master duel méta Heroes top deck in tcg and Master duel
its hard playing heroes nowadays because of bystial
They better ban Mind Hacker before Arise Heart comes out imo
As someone who's played dinos since MD first started and found some success with them even now, which would you say they'd go in?
High tier 2 maybe
I gotta disagree on Swordsoul being 'mid' tier two, it's bordering on tier 1 imo. Swordsoul may not have flashy endboards, and it only gets to its floodgate once in a blue moon, but it has an unparalleled ability to go first or second and somehow almost always end on two negates. The deck isn't the best but it never feels terrible.
That's like the definition of tier 2
what makes you think swordsoul is on par with decks like spright, tear and dragon link right now? the chokepoint is too obvious with swordsoul unless you draw insane amount of extender
@@rakarespati5074 like I said, it's not the best, but few decks can break those decks endboards like Swordsoul can. Not even considering the damage protos does to all those strategies (and it's at 3 in MD, people can just play more to see it more consistently). Baxia does a lot of work, the Tenyi lines are strong independently to Swordsoul, it's just a deck that has a lot of power to overcome a slanted board state.
What about blackwing?
What about if purrely drops WITH Epurrely Noir? Is it tier 0
more like high Tier 1 if it drops alongside Ariseheart
What do you think of PunkKashtira
Where would you rank Blackwing or Heros?
What about Thunder Dragon? And its chaotic variants?
I like swordsoul bystials. Im in Diamond 1 with this deck right now.
