No matter what one says about Revv, the fact that they actually listened to people and made a change to the product is a very good indication of the quality of the company
This amp actually sounds fantastic!!
Very happy to see a cogent company design pattern. They had a plan!
And as Canuck, on Canada Day 🍁, I went ahead and bought a D20 and the Canada Day Special edition G2 🍁. Yes, G2. My metal friends will disown me :)
Is it possible to somehow make the pull pot foot switchable? That would really make this amp more functional when your hands are full playing guitar.
This is magic, the entire “torpedo & load” convo is pure gold. And that dudes face is magic. Just perfect.
I did exactly what he was talking about by buying, amp like pedals in to a pedal platform. I just couldn't afford an expensive amp. I have a nice multi-channel tube amp now. Which I use the Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 and a Hughes and Kettner Red Box Classic with stereo fx. I am glad technology is expanding possibilities that were not possible.
“ this is not for metal” - yeah we’ll see what my G3 says about that when mine ships. Challenge accepted!
There are a lot of adults who can't afford a REVV GEN120... This could be my way into REVV. Great amp, great idea.
Thank you for this Video, I was looking for information of how the D20 sounds in Blues and Jazz (Swing) Clean, Crunch environment, but then it went off course to Metal!
I usually cover everything
Im glad they listened, I was put off by the lack of headroom, made it useless to me. I have pedals or high gain amps for gain. Sounds like more than just a headroom change, its so much better, the whole gain structure must of changed because now it sounds more like PI/Power Tube harmonics which is less fizzy, its fat and nice, great!
Got to love this video and especially how well revv listens. I was sold seeing joey landreth play one but had thought twice watching Henning’s first video. Absolute amazing Revv definitely want one now and love what your company represents. 👍👍
Derek comes across as a top chap. I'm going to have to try one of these. Thanks.
I recorded Bass guitar through my REVV D20 using the Cab Sim and got a really usable track. Has any one else tried this?
OMG, this Mayones guitar! 💖
Mayonesa Guitar, what a name
I just want a Revv G20, basically an all in one metal amp solution that is compact, portable and affordable. So I don't have to buy a D20 and a G3 pedal and then having to mess with a pedal board. I don't need a 100 watt 100 pound amp.
Sunny, the G20 midi footswitch cost nearly the same as the G3 pedal. Not sure if the G20 is the big deal.
8:05 Can you hear the real cab and the torpedo sim at the same time (both blended) ?
yes
THIS is for me the future! Personally i think every amp should have a torpedo inside because it simply only has upsides. Or just permanently attach a cab m to your had. I sadly did the same before the cab m came out and i regret it now xD but maybe i'll change that soon.
Sooo this or kemper?
This is a wonderful amplifier but you should be aware that the software affects provided by the two notes torpedo system are not available when you are using a regular passive guitar speaker. If you want the Reverb and preamp settings using Two Notes, (which are really great), you will need to use the XLR output on the back of the amp and run it to a powered PA type speaker. This was a little disappointing for me as I like the color provided by a regular guitar speaker.
Thank you from the worship guitarist community.
Anyone else with this amp find it extremely bright? I do like it’s overdrive tone quite a lot but I have to turn the treble knob all the way off. So wish there was a presence control. Running through a V-type 112. Also there’s not a lot of clean headroom, kinda wish there was even more than they have, but the full range of overdrive sounds good. Can’t decide if this is a keeper.
kudos to revv.sounds good and a possibility purchase.after I sell my rivera m100.
Henning at 18:13 are you referring to a G2 prototype?
I would say that another version in the future, with more hard/metal oriented gain and power, but still with all the functionality and Guilleme's torpedo built in, would be a reasonable option
Will there ever be a revv G20 with torpedo for metal amp at home? Some people might want one, the d20 sounds insanely great!!
There is nothing more satisfying than being listened to by manufacturers. Kudos for REVV.
BTW: I had to find out about #TGU19 by Andy (GuitarGeek) who does a daily update VLOG.
Are you even showing up there? Well, if you are, have fun!
Henning is on a big Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit poster wearing a bow tie. I`ve seen it in the custom guitar room at Thomann today. So he kinda is present at TGU19 ;-)
The planning was going in a direction that I didn't want to be a part of. It wasn't going to be the event I created, so I didn't want to be involved.
@@EytschPi42 Ok, that can happen. Now I am really starting to become curious what's in Your cooker for the coming months. Please at least drop a hint or a clue once in a while.
@@EytschPi42 Hmmm, second time. Same storry as with Framus?
no no no... very different story... I am still working with Thomann and they are great people, they just had different ideas and would like to create an event without the constraints that we have when we are at a store like that.
so that little pedal on the table that is not purple or red??? could it possibly be green?? and maybe there is a 2 on it and a G of some sorts??? xD and one thing why don't revv do an amp that is the g3 pedal just with a power amp xd we don't need a clean channel cuz we are METALL !! cheers :D
Such good doggos.. and such a great amp.
In a parallel universe, where guitar gear forms the mass of living creatures of this planet, Guillaume's Torpedo is their version of Rocco Siffredi..
Hey Henning, question I have had trouble finding the answer to, maybe I’ve missed the answer in the abyss of RUclips, but maybe you can help...If I wanted to run the d20 to a traditional cab and only use power amp simulation but not cab simulation is this possible? I’d like to have the ability to run say 6L6 emulation through it but out to a 2x12 as opposed to the ir? Thank you for all the videos and knowledge. You have helped me make many decisions on gear for the past few years!
The simulation is not going out to the cab, that is only for the IRs
Ok now I wanna see a D20 vs. G20 comparison so we can get a clearer idea of the difference in tone, gain, and features.
This is very interesting. As a “home” only player I’m struggling with my next amp purchase. I currently use an Blues Jr w/pedals (hate the non tapered volume on the Jr, it’s either all or nothing). There is an amp brand that I would love to have, but wonder if I would get too locked in on it’s sound (and also if I would use pedals on the clean side). Makes sense to have a clean(ish) style amp and just use pedals and you can change your tone anytime. I like L Scott Music’s comment about the D20 being a perfect fit for Synergy modules. Again, since I only play at home for fun, I don’t need super loud, just great tones.
If you like the BJ its its pretty easy to change the volume pot for a tapered volume increase. No idea why Fender dont fit it as standard as the pot is a Fender part.
@@philipTOMPSETT Thanks for the tip! I'll check that out and might as well replace that shakey input jack the BJ has on it was well!
OMFG the Blofeld Dr. Evil of guitar guy named Henning goes off the deep end again! Love it. Maybe you should create your own 007 James Bond guitar movie, dude.
A type of amp that i've been waiting for. Hope that in the future they will release a 2-3 channel amp with the torpedo feature. And a little more wattage so one can play live with it as well 🙂
ruclips.net/video/Ibki6LPror0/видео.html
Glenn Steen miced up you can use it live, 20w is enough (it was 20w right?)
18:59 le output, as they say in Hungary? What do you mean? :D
They have blue tooth midi. That would work.
Cool amp. Nice video.
Killer review and the guy from revv was awesome!! \m/
So can you get a heavy metal tone with the right pedals ?
Video had 42 thumbs up. Hated to mess that up but what the hell, I mess everything else up so WTF. :)
Henning, why aren’t you at TGU19?
The planning was going in a direction that I didn't want to be a part of. It wasn't going to be the event I created, so I didn't want to be involved.
Yeah. What up with that?
EytschPi42 That’s so sad Henning, first guitcon and now this. I guess that’s the cost of having principles in this age of corporate dominance. I do wonder why Glen Fricker and Phill McKnight went there anyway. I mean, I don’t want to throw any soap opera drama on this, but they are kind of your friends, and it’s kind of your gig. Its been a hard couple of years money wise for me, but maybe next time it should be fan funded.
Glenn and Phil are cool and they will have a great time... all of them will... I am glad that they have a great event. Glenn is coming to my place after TGU... I am planning something independent where we can do the event we want to do... a smaller one than TGU, but hopefully just as fun.
I am still great friends with the people at Thomann... I understand that they have their agenda and they have to pursue that... it just doesn’t match mine, so we are doing separate things.
You call the custom shop because you can’t put a piece of tape over the led! The none more black series 🤘🏽
Doesn't Henning have a sick amount of top notch gear? It's like a dream.
Sounds great, thanks! BTW, you're not involved in TGU this year?
no, sadly I am not at TGU
EytschPi42 sorry, that’s a bummer. It was a lot of fun last year with you.
Maybe a version of this amp with a high gain option would be awesome for recording !!!!!!!!
when people can get past the friggin names brands adverts, is it good guitar distortion, does it sound like records music songs, yip it does, great guitar electrics will help it on that road
not sure what you are trying to say
@@EytschPi42 I guessed that, im a drummer your a guitwawist, happens all the time, rock on henny me old plank spanker :)
Nice Joey Landreth shirt! I have the same one!
Can you gig with this? Is it as loud as a Fender Deluxe?
I think you might need a bit of help from the monitors. A deluxe is louder
@@EytschPi42 You just helped me make an important decision. I’m really disappointed. I just sold my Dr Z Maz 38 combo to find an appropriate head / cab. The Z is too heavy but wow, what an amp! I’ll just go for the head version of the Maz 38. Thanks!
It's still not sparkling clean. It's just not clipping as much.
Anyone know how this amp sounds with everything going into the front of the amp and not using the effects loop? Does it handle it well and stay nice and clean?
that is what it is made for
Did i talk to this nice guy from REVV on Guitar summit 2018 and played on his wonderfull Tele?!
yes you did :)
Derek Eastveld :-) thanks, that was a nice encounter! Maybe we will meet there again this year?!
Gigbag or carrying bag would be perfect for this little guy.
What's the name of the cabinet? Thanx
Yay Derek...
Doesn't appear to come in White and I already have a bunch of black amps
SinnersDwarf the white ones are coming soon
What cab is that?
Why aren't you at TGU ?
it’s a long story... but basically... organizing it is way different from attending it... things went in a direction that I couldn’t support...
Are you still good with Thomann ? Or did it go down the Framus road ? I had no trouble not buying Framus guitars ;) ...but not buying from the big T is kind of impossible ;)
The doggy at the end was not right, this video wasn´t that bad!
Can i use stereo effects with the revv D20?
no
@@EytschPi42
Can i send the headphone output to stereo effect ?
good question.... yes you can, but you could also send the mono out to stereo effects and they turn it stereo
@@EytschPi42
You mean the XLR mono out ?
But The stereo effect do not get xlr in ..
Trying to build what the players can afford would be cool too.
I am poor, but I plan on saving for this great amp.
Great amps, but so expensive.
Look at the price of any other 20W tube amp, then look at the price of a torpedo. Not that bad a price at all.
@@jasonbone5121 except you can use a torpedo with any other amp you have
@@AndreiGrozea Touche! Point taken!
@Jason Bone I'm not a pro so this comes from discretionary income. C$1700 is a good chunk of change. But I still want one! :-)
Hahahahahaha, I love how Henning make the Revv dude red and embarassing... he needs to relax and play along! .....so funny! ahahahahahahaa Henning, make a new channel and interview people! hahahaha
Hail Pepe!! Kek Kek
it's got to be the BEER ahahaahahahahah
If u think about it its not that expensive cause if u want another lunchbox amo u will need the torpedo captor :/
Saying "I'm not going to make a torpedo joke" is a torpedo joke.
Anyway... So the D20 would make a nice companion for a Synergy Syn2/Syn1?
Fuck I just noticed the pepe shirt lol
could you not just put a usb port in it, then people could just use a bluetooth dongle and there is no licensing
The pedal X files!
Your guitar is missing its headstock...
Studio Chimiel No shit
let me go and look for it
I kinda like that headless look...call me crazy.

I don’t understand what dare I say this worship meant ?🤔 the greatest classical composers believed they were inspired by the Lord. They were also “worship”
Contemporary Christian music played at Contemporary Christian churches in the style of Hillsong and Bethel. That's what they mean.
I like the amp, I hate the price.
This is painful 😣
Why are all these lunchbox amps going for $1000 now? I got a 6505 MH brand new on ebay for $350. I also have an ENGL INVADER 2 with the sound wizard I added in myself that cost me just shy of $4K. You know what I found out? That Engl sounds fantastic at any volume, member when you where talking about them Marshall Amps that only sound good cranked? yea not so with Engl. That Peavy gets loud enough to gig with, I built a 2x12 cab and was testing it with the 6505 and wanted to test how loud it was, so I had it the driveway facing away from our house and I was drowning out my roommates TV show. I tell ya what though when I got that INVADER 2 and the first time I plugged it in, DooM Slayer Grin. I doubt any lunch box amp will give you the same experience, so if it's to sound great or save money that's the true question you should ask yourself.
HELLSEEKER this is hand built in Canada, not China like your peavy. It also has two notes technology BUILT IN. A torpedo live is 1200$ alone here in Australia. For what you’re getting the price is definitely justified. And it sounds great !
Full sized amps or go digital. Engls and evhs sound great at low volumes.
@@luketama1 , stupid, torpedo live made in China too,hhh
Pepe?
The "S" Word !!!!!!111 :D
His load made it white! :'D
BRAVO SIR BRAVO!!
What an ugly headstock of the Friedman guitar...wow that logo looks so cheap, cold, plastic and silly
Wait until you see the Mc Mull! Henning, I'm torpedoing Mc Mull's headstock/doorstop! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! :)
I like it.
who needs a clean sound on guitar? you either chop funk or a pristine clean sound is completely useless
Not correct
Definetely not a Metal amp! I don't understand the reason to buy such a thing? It does not even sound decent.
How annoying is he
a lot
