To me one of the best things was Finding Your Channel and getting to see a lot of these statues that I would have never otherwise seen and gotten from you
Scammers and the wait are the two main reasons why I don’t have more statues than I do. The process to get a custom piece is nerve wracking.
Me?! I just like living vicariously through you and seeing cool stuff. I want more statues, but can wait until I can more comfortably join in.

Statue collecting brings out my creative side. What to buy with limited resources (money & space) where and how best to display it. The worst part is trying to hide the cost from my wife and watching her blank face as I'm enthusiasticly describing why the one I've just bought is so important. 😅
There is some satisfaction in building displays.
The best thing for me is the ability to own incredibly high quality pieces of sculpture and support extremely talanted artists do what they are brilliant at. There's never been a time when statues of this quality have been so (relatively) widely available to the general public. In a world where traditional sculpture is less and less prevalent for public art and architecture, statue collectibles offer a really great opportunity for talanted sculptors, painters and makers to do what they love.
The worst thing (apart from scammers and scalpels) in my view is the large amount of people who feel the need to be extremely negative towards pieces they don't like...just move on and don't ruin it for people who enjoy them. Criticism is good, but being pernickety or extremely disparaging about a piece (often they don't even own or plan to own) is really negatively impacting the community.

I like finding new statues that I didn't know existed, remembering weird characters I haven't thought of in a few decades. I wish there was more coverage on making of, especially on the customs side. Great video like usual :)

Mr X keeping it real. Is been four years for me and is all good. I would like to sell pieces, but the scammers and regular collectors worried about it make you think about it. With that, be selective, pick characters that mean something to you and enjoy other stuff from other people that buy them.

Some of the best things in statue collecting was Sideshow, connecting with others in fan pages, Gem Mint, BSC Chris and your Xtreme Channels, X. The worst are those who don’t buy but rely on giveaways or giveaways community, pushing me to unbox a new statue assume I’m a content creator when I’m not, and scammers.
Nerds with birds. Exactly hahah great video. Meeting people yup. Scammers yup. Drama. All day.
The statue community is one of the best, especially if you need something answered. I used to be into it heavy years back.
Good points. I think your next video should be the five best and worst things about statue collecting. The best--they are little pieces of art that make one happy. Worst--the rising costs. 'Nuff said!

#4 Worst Thing: Impatience! We’ve all been guilty of this at some point or another. My impatience comes in when a company (No, I’m not talking about Moducase/Moduspace……or am I? 😂) fails to live up to their promises. I have a lot of patience for custom-statue deliveries, especially since I usually have them shipped by boat. Where I lose my patience is when a company tells you that they will ship by a certain date and they fail to do so…..over and over again. Hmm, could I be talking about Moducase/Moducases? Damned well could be.). If you tell me that you’re shipping by “X” date and it’s 8 months later, I do become quite impatient. Sorry, Moducase/Moduspace. Glad the supposed current shipment is my last order from you. 🙂. Best thing: the great You Tube channels that have helped me find the custom commissioners and some of the most amazing statues ever! Mr. Ehhhxxxxx, thanks a bunch for your channel. You really have guided a bunch of us to the best of the best in this hobby.
The best thing about collecting is the excitement of receiving the piece in the mail. The worst thing about collecting is if there is a series of statues that you must complete.
Your list is pretty complete X. But it's like is this way now, used to be different in the past perhaps? The thing is the more connected we are the more these aspects become prevalent. Lets just say it comes with the territory
Scammers are definitely the worst. I left the statue game after getting scammed several times by buyers taking the statues out of box and replacing them with rocks and then requesting a return. Absolute scum.

The good and bad for me is finding RUclips channels like yours and Art's. It pulled me back into collecting and customs because I get to see pieces/prototypes reviewed and you either address my concerns or manage to hype me up for a piece.
When I got back into collecting 2 years ago, one of the first videos I saw on this channel was the Exoresin Spidey vs. Venom (or technically Symbiote, as Venom is the merge with Eddie Brock, your words, not mine
I'm looking at the piece now. It is bad ass

Hate when people go out of the way to bash comment on something they don't like. Just keep it pushing
I hate when people bash other statues then complain when people bash theirs.
Solid list. Can't say I disagree with anything on it. Especially on the bad side, learning that there are fanboy wars over companies and specific pieces blew my mind. The amount of heat I got for my Iron Studios Hulk (which I absolutely adore) cracks me up.
Love seeing all the fan art and new designs being passed around, hate the people who take your money and then don’t communicate for months/years about progress

It's always good to get feedback, not that should make you decision to buy. However, sometimes you might missing something with out another person their to point it out.
The worst thing...people's self confidence rely on things they can buy...which leaded to many other problems.

The community itself can seriously be the best and worst part of collecting. You nailed a lot of the highlights. One of the low points is the gatekeeping. That could be something simple like custom buyers looking down at licensed buyers (or vice virsa)... or scale snobs... material snobs... license snobs... whatever. But the other one is worse where a community of fringe collectors of geeky stuff talk bad about other fringe or marginalized groups/communities. You'd think there would be more empathy, understanding, and search for common ground... but sadly this isn't always the case.
I hate I can’t share more custom info, but when specific commissioners request not to share info, it’s rude to not comply.
@@TheXtremeChannelMrXThat's totally understandable. Their groups, their rules. And it's not tough to find out names if you look or reach out to fellow community members that you know decently well. Or sometimes just using Google turns up answers! (This could probably be another community highlight!)

The best thing for me is to see other people's collection. It's also 1 of the worst cause now I'm on the hunt to get a piece I just saw in someone else's collection.

1 of the worst things is ppl worrying about what others collectors got and 1 of the best things is u can make great deals with other collectors
Keeping up with the Jones. Some might starve or live on beans and rice for a statue.
Not counting scamming, censorship is one of the worst. Like Sideshow groups are heavily censored. You can't talk about anything non-Sideshow related, like XM. You also can't have a respectful opinion. Like calling a spade a spade if say Disney instigates something. Also collectors being overprotective of their sources/statues. Like some customs they're looking for more people, and collectors want to feel special and don't reveal the sauce. Or collectors not wanting statues to be re-released. With comic books you have second and third printings. Sometimes they're worth less and sometimes more based on scarcity or something, but at least new fans get to read them and the demand is met. If a statue were re-released, why does it matter to you if you already have it? Because your particular statue is worth retail and not twice the price? I like statues mainly for the aesthetic purpose, and it sucks for myself and others to be priced out. Just stamp a second wave on the bottom. People are the best and worst thing. It's great to talk with fellow fans.
Oh, and Ronnie Stark’s displays of his statues are fabulous but he is NOT the winner. He’s Top 3-4, but the winner is 100% Art Statue Collector. You had a superior collection to his, especially when you consider your customs, but his display gallery is gorgeous. And he owns all the land around it, has a restaurant there, duck pond… insanity. Check out when he decorates all the lights for Christmas! Someday I’m going to take advantage of my invite and go to Singapore and see it in person.
