My daughter lost her 14 year old Bassett hound today. He was such a good boy when he came to visit. Over the years we have lost a number of dogs passing over the rainbow bridge. Valerie, I agree. I had my soul horse buried after I found him after he had fallen in the stable, hit his head, and passed. He was 30 years old and a Paint like Dixie. I have had to have several dogs/cats put down and it is the hardest thing to do, but also the most compassionate thing to do. We are crying with our broken hearts right along with Jami and Lester. I pray that God will give peace to all those that love and grieve sweet Dixie, humans and animals. 🙏

Lester and Jami, my heart goes out to all of you as I know how much it hurts and how difficult it is to make the decision to let a beloved pet/friend go when you know that's the best thing to do to end their pain and suffering. It's been over 40 years ago when I had to make that decision for the infamous injection that ended it all for my beautiful, loving but oh so ill 14-year-old sweetheart dog, Sassy. I could see the pain in her eyes and hear the labor in her breathing as I was trying to come to terms with what I had to do. It was the hardest decision ever but I couldn't bear to watch her suffer so IT was done. We left the vet's office with me holding the plastic bag with her still warm body in my lap and sobbing my heart out. She was buried in the back yard of the home where she grew up and roamed her entire life. I'm reliving it all as you are going through the same thing with Dixie. I know it's so very hard to let go. But we've always been told that the good Lord will never put on us more than we can bear. I'm praying that HE grants all of you strength, courage and mostly peace to get through this devastating time. 💔😭🙏❤

I was feeling this was coming. The last video with Dixie I could see in her eyes & felt this video was coming & yet I've cried through the whole thing! My sister just put her 17 yr old Chihuahua to sleep this last Saturday. Losing a cherished animal is so hard but when they get to the point of suffering and/or senile it's more loving & humane to let them go so they no longer suffer. I'll be praying for Jaimi & Beverly! You’ve given Dixie her best last days here at LHL. You’re doing the right thing since she has stopped eating and drinking. I had to take our dog of 14 years and help him over the rainbow bridge. It was the most solemn and peaceful event. After it was over all the pain was gone from his eyes and he looked like the old Jaws who was healthy, happy and enjoying life. I wish the same thing for Jami, Beverly and you. We will all miss Dixie 💔

My daughter lost her 14 year old Bassett hound today. He was such a good boy when he came to visit. Over the years we have lost a number of dogs passing over the rainbow bridge. It never gets easy to lose a pet. My heart goes out to Jami, you, Beverly, and the rest of the animals who love her.

Omg Lester you have me crying. May Dixie’s trip over the rainbow bridge be peaceful and short. Hugs guys it isn’t easy losing a family member. Lester Beverly will make the adjustment but she will grieve just like the rest of the family but like you said voodoo will help take care of her. All of the babies that have gone before have been so hard, but this one gets me to my core, I so love horses, and Dixie is such a special horse. May your journey be peaceful and easy, and I hope you don't just cross that Rainbow Bridge walking, but that you run full speed with your mane and tail flying in the wind . Godspeed Dixie, may your pastures up there be filled with sweet grass, and may you be given a beer every now and then. Jami, every time your hair blows in a breeze, it will be Dixie reminding you she is always with you. P.S. Valerie, I agree. I had my soul horse buried after I found him after he had fallen in the stable, hit his head, and passed. He was 30 years old and a Paint like Dixie. I have had to have several dogs/cats put down and it is the hardest thing to do, but also the most compassionate thing to do. We are crying with our broken hearts right along with Jami and Lester. I pray that God will give peace to all those that love and grieve sweet Dixie, humans and animals. 🙏

It's never easy to let go of our precious animals. It's even harder when they are our emotional support and strength. Dixie was an incredible gift for Jami and the very best of friends. Lester and Jami, my heart goes out to all of you as I know how much it hurts and how difficult it is to make the decision to let a beloved pet/friend go when you know that's the best thing to do to end their pain and suffering. It's been over 40 years ago when I had to make that decision for the infamous injection that ended it all for my beautiful, loving but oh so ill 14-year-old sweetheart dog, Sassy. I could see the pain in her eyes and hear the labor in her breathing as I was trying to come to terms with what I had to do. It was the hardest decision ever but I couldn't bear to watch her suffer so IT was done. We left the vet's office with me holding the plastic bag with her still warm body in my lap and sobbing my heart out. She was buried in the back yard of the home where she grew up and roamed her entire life.
I'm reliving it all as you are going through the same thing with Dixie. I know it's so very hard to let go. But we've always been told that the good Lord will never put on us more than we can bear. I'm praying that HE grants all of you strength, courage and mostly peace to get through this devastating time. 💔😭🙏❤

I was feeling this was coming. The last video with Dixie I could see in her eyes & felt this video was coming & yet I've cried through the whole thing! My sister just put her 17 yr old Chihuahua to sleep this last Saturday. Losing a cherished animal is so hard but when they get to the point of suffering and/or senile it's more loving & humane to let them go so they no longer suffer. I'll be praying for Jaimi & Beverly! You’ve given Dixie her best last days here at LHL. You’re doing the right thing since she has stopped eating and drinking. I had to take our dog of 14 years and help him over the rainbow bridge. It was the most solemn and peaceful event. After it was over all the pain was gone from his eyes and he looked like the old Jaws who was healthy, happy and enjoying life. I wish the same thing for Jami, Beverly and you. We will all miss Dixie 💔
