- A developer is proposing to build a road over the old Midland Railroad grade that would connect to Ruxton Avenue, where he would also build another parking lot. This would be catastrophic for the quiet neighborhood on Manitou Springs west side.
Hey Steve, thank you for explaining the position of things. I was thinking the road would literally go behind the town homes and up to the base of the incline connecting into the parking lot. I couldn’t figure out how that would be possible without literally moving mountains. So is this an actually possibility? Seems like it’ll never happen.
@@TrevorTrails It’s going to be close. This guy is a slick operator. We have to organize to stop the road and preserve the open space and trail.

The gift of land covers on.y 1/2 of the proposed road. Will the rest of the land needed for the road also be donated? The City would be responsible for all costs to engineer, install the road with all required utility improvements..
Good question. The other half of the road would go on established road with some going through Walton property to connect to Manitou Avenue. The Walton's would benefit from a road because they own quite a bit of property west of the proposed road and would probably be pleased if they could platt that land and develop it. Especially if the city were to finance the road.
