This is a "Honeywell fire proof safe, large 1104". (If you google that, you'll find it.) This size box looks to be about $105. One review did state it's as heavy as a piano, so it must be pretty hefty. I've been thinking about getting something like this for the important papers I have at home, but really haven't done any research on it yet. Thanks for the vid, Taras!
That was in an intense test! A safe in a home fire is only rarely going to be in the direct line of fire (sheetrock, maybe some beams falling on it). You tested the heck out of it! Neat to see how it was constructed though!
THANK YOU! Great job. That is the safe I was considering buying. I think I'm going to buy it and I think I'll buy some fireproof bags to put inside the safe to boot! Thanks again!
That is really cool… I always wondered why those sorts of things were so heavy… I thought it was just because they were metal… Never thought they would have concrete inside
July 4th is coming up. Dogs and cats have 4 legs. Spiders have 4 legs on each side. Beds have 4 posts. Most cars have 4 tires. There are 4 seasons. People have 2 arms and 2 legs, which equals 4. So 2+2=4!
Mr Rahul Pathak, It's absolutely nothing like "refractory or ceramic material like ceramic tiles are placed on outside of spacecraft". The safe Taras was burning was made mostly of gypsum mixed with some other ingredients to make it stronger. That was the material he was chipping off during the video. Gypsum is what's inside drywall. Chemically, it has water molecules bonded to it that steam off during a fire. The steam keeps the safe from rising much above a couple of hundred degrees Fahrenheit, thus protecting the contents within. Because there is so much moisture in that insulating material, it's important to protect the contents from damaging dampness because it gets up to 70% humidity inside the safe even at room temperature.
Saw Honeywell company on safe suitcase and knew it will be able to withstand a fire. Honeywell manufactures commercial aircraft cockpit recorders and flight data recorders as well. I was 100% sure everything will survive inside.
Fire boxes are rated for HOT and LONG fires. Make the fire bigger and put more sensitive things. Paper (again), USB FLASH DRIVE, CD, ECT. Good demonstration though of a fire box.
i had a smaller safe from the same company . i had very important docs inside and the whole safe sweated inside nd mildewed everything and i had to throw it out so moldy
Hey, Greta video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. But do you think you can flood test one of these safes? A lot of these say they are fire and waterproof so the water part would interest me too!
It is a fire-resistant safe. Its primary purpose is heat resistance. The heat-resistant layer is some form of plaster or similar non-flammable material for low heat conduction. Plaster isn't particularly strong against anything... other than fire.

Hey taras I think you should throw a thermometer into the case and do comparison.
You just earned a subscriber for that test!!!
The safe goes boom!
Get a water proof one next and submerge it in a pond, stream, or pool. For a week or so
Hey, Greta video👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. But do you think you can flood test one of these safes? A lot of these say they are fire and waterproof so the water part would interest me too!
He would have put his RUclips play button then he must have realized the importance of the suitcase but anyways liked it
To test it better, you should fill the safe up with something highly flammable. I really wonder what would happen then.
That's a clever Invention. Do You Source Where you buy the gadgets . That was a fail. Did you fall ?
sure so would i like to know where do you get this stuff
Nice username, do you play firewatch?
Daniel Lee no why ?
mark canterbury there made of metal and will cook anything inside like an oven.
mark canterbury woops typo I ment metal. You said "you can get a safe anywhere" Most safes are metal and would cook anything inside like an oven.
great news. i got one for my personal papers and its good to know how safe it is.
I’ve always wondered what would happen and now I know! Cool video, thank you

Alemran Ahmed that he should’ve put a GoPro inside while it was on fire
Wonder what Taras says when the case fires up that he putted in the fire?
*BOOM*
But is it waterproof as well. I have one that is fireproof but how do you put out a fire? With water.
Did the instructions suggest a way to open it after it was in a fire other than with an axe?

You can put the fire safe in a security safe if you're concerned with theft.
What brand/type is this safe?
You should’ve put a thermometer in the fireproof case!👍👍👍
05:49 I came for this. My life makes sense now.
Do it again! Bigger fire. Blazing inferno test please.
