Man thank you for your service. I'm going to say that in every video. Both my mom and dad were in the navy. That's how they met. My g-pa was a gunner in the helicopter in the Vietnam war. If he was in the ground squad he would have been a tunnel rat. My great grandpa was in ww2. I cant tell too much about it. I seriously have major respect towards any vet or active duty person of any kind for our country. I'm a senior in high school. Growing up from 6 to now was my dream to serve. Why tbh I honestly dont know. I can not join sadly cause of my eye sight. I bull ride, race dirt bikes, hunt, and yeah that's it. Now your prob calling bull shit cause I said I cant join cause of my eye sight but those things dont require perfect eye sight or even close to good eye sight. Sense incan not serve all I can do is show the biggest respect towards those who serve. Thank your for your service. I can not say that enough. I will say that in every video I see you post. THANK YOU AND TO ALL WHO SERVED.
This is a very respectful comment and I appreciate it a lot. I'm not calling bullshit haha I don't think everyone needs to serve and I don't look down on those who don't. I got to do a tiger cruise on his first deployment and it was fun to spend a week on the ship and learn some of the other jargon, like: ladder well, bullseye, the head (he got mad at me if I didn’t use the right term hah), galley, knee knockers, muster, mid-rats.
POG in my day was rear echelon. A bit derogatory but not as much REMF. Scuttlebutt is also a bar / beer that’s popular near the Everett naval base in Washington.
This was probably a really fun video for you guys. I enjoyed it anyway. And don't feel bad anyone, I went to training with Austen and there were still a few of those I never heard of. I hope you guys have a good day
Thanks Austen,I learned some Navy terms i did not know! By the way...my dad was in The Korean War...He passed away 5 years ago of cancer,he has a Shellback Document in his Korean war scrapbook! I almost had a korean mom...but it didnt work out.
Bravo Zulu, head, gig line, scuttle (escape scuttle) toe line, geedunk, gun deck, “nuke it” a few navy terms that I use ad civilian friends are like whatttt
In JROTC last year we had an ALT (Advanced Leadership Training) catered to cadet PO1 and above....we had to do an “activity” called Blue Falcon. One person did calisthenics while the other ran a quarter mile. If the person “running” decided to slack off, they were Falconing their Buddy...lol that’s where I learned that term.
According to our military.com POG means.... The meaning of POG, in military talk, is Person Other than Grunt, A “grunt” is a term to define infantrymen. Have a nice day POGS!!!
Shellback isn't a military term; it is a Sailor's term (military or civilian merchant mariner.) This is a sailing tradition that goes back further than the history of the United States.
