What a beautiful and accurate composition Pete! You just did the impossible: To inspire us to get a compressor pedal which usually are bored, even if we know they are very important. This Wampler / Cory Wong signature box it’s a fantastic versatile tool with so many usable features and sweet, smooth, punchier killer tones!
Thanks! I totally agree, compressor videos are always difficult to get people interested in. Fuzz pedals are tough too!
But overdrive distortion, no problem. It’s kind of funny when you think about it.

Greetings, Pete. Thank you for the fantastic demo, showcasing the new Wampler compressor. Time to sell my Chakra Budda compressor. Upgrade. The Wong compressor is quite unique, versatile. Love the XLR output feature for studio applications. The harmonics, amazing array of tonalities really shines through with this compressor.

I have 2 addiction in pedals: od and compressors. I might say, this one is very high quality, but it will be cool'' if Brian would build the same with no boost.. I don't say it's not a good one, I simply don't need it! Merci Pete pour cette belle démo !

Glad to see you take a different direction with this pedal. Other guys would go the “funky fast Cory style” playing which sounds great, but doesn’t do the pedal much justice.
Cory is fantastic at what he does, and I thought to myself I’m not going to try and copy that I will do something different. Thank you for saying that!

Pete, just came here to say that I only realized now that you were playing with Chris Cornell in the 2007 Live Earth concert. That performance of Black Hole Sun was the best ever, no doubt about it. Chris was on fire and so were you and the other guitar player. May Chris rest in peace. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Great review and demo Pete! Wampler makes great gear, I am a big fan. Question: I just purchased two Sire guitars with P-90s which are somewhat noisy, how do you deal with single coil pickup hum? Look into getting illich backplate for your guitar, it’s a silent coil system that you can add to your existing set up. May or may not work with your guitar just depends.

Slide whistle down. So I ordered a HSS over a year ago. A Suhr rep told me they were all going to have a black pearl pickguard. I just saw that the Green one was shipping with an all black pickguard. Boo. I think all black looks great on the Red and the Graphite, but the green needs the black pearl.

Thanks Pete. What do you think is the best placement for this pedal in the chain? My initial thoughts were as a second compressor - maybe after dirt (as it also has a boost)? I already have an ego comp on one board, and a Cali76 on the other...

With the Cory Wong Signature Setting a get a popping noise on every attack! OK, there is maybe the Blend Knob to avoid this, but than the compressor effect is not hearable anymore.
