Hi Aimee, this is simply my opinion. When my Grandma had dementia, she was more than happy being at home with my Parents. But it was a busy home with lots of extended family to watch over her and keep her engaged so if my Mom needed a break she had a backup. I don't think your Mom needs to go out, I think your Dad needs to go out! Does Dad need a break? From what you said, she doesn't know reality from fantasy so just going in the backyard would be an outing to her. Perhaps someone can stay with her and give Dad a day or an afternoon out to regroup. Wishing you the best! 💗
I agree. My FIL said going to his 2 dialysis appt a week were his "outing". We always offered to watch her for him but he refused, so once in awhile we would just show up and my husband would take him to lunch or whatever to get him out while I stayed with her. I also worked as a caregiver with Alzheimer's clients, basically just someone to keep them company so their loved ones could go out, very important ❤.
I agree. Sometimes it's to stressful to take them out makes them a lot worse. Depends on what level they are in. If she is happy the way she is then let her be. ❤
Maybe try just short field trips with your Mom. Like a quick drive to a local park or playground to “see”, looking for whatever is there ie. Kids playing, birds, flowers in spring, pretty clouds, etc. But keep it short, maybe 15 minutes.
Hi Aimee, Emily here :o) I love the color of the sweater. Ahh, you are wearing your pjs, how cute. I have a collection of reg nail polishes that I keep in cases that I picked up for $5 each, they hold reg nail polish and gel, it has been a great way of storing my extra stuff that I cannot fit on my wall shelves. I hope those containers work out for you. I've never watched the Rookie, I don't know what it's about but you seem to really like it. When I think of it snowing a lot. My mind goes to the cats and dogs outside in that snow, and my heart begins to break. I can't help thinking about that. We had a little snow in the past, our snowfall happens in Feb and Mar, so yeah I am going to be worried about my feral furbabies. The wood games seem interesting. Congratulations on your sale from Japan, that is awesome. And another Congratulations on making your mystery box, yay! I think doing an unboxing is fun because it gives those interested in purchasing a mystery box an idea of what they may get. I got 2 out of 8 as well on the trivia. Fun video. God bless.
I was really concerned that you might have to get out today. It was 67° when I woke up this morning with rain storms. The rain stopped at 1:00 and the temperature started dropping. It's no 47° and the low for tonight will be 23°.
Crap Out dice game is similar to Farkle but not the same. We usually just 5 dice and use and notepad to keep track of the points. I even have friends that put a twist on it with 6 dice :D LOVE the game
I remember junk journaling .You did buy ++++++++++ . I am kind of the same way. I learned to play the organ as an adult . I play by written music not ear. I have +++++++++++++ sheet music and books. I would buy books for one or two songs.n I got carried away. Colouring the same I have every penicl pen colouring book known to man. It is a difficult habit to ditch..
Hello dear friend❤ we’re supposed to get some snow, but I don’t know just get ice too, but I don’t know. I better go get some groceries. Some milk and bread.😂❤ love Temu. Don’t miss our Collab January 7 at 5 PM.
I've been watching weather all over our state half tornadic then half freezing cold lil snowflakes lol. We had our first tornado of 2025. That's Arkansas for ya got to keep up our record. 😂😂😂. Yall look bad. I watch all the chasers following the snow too. Be safe Aimee if ya have to drive to work. ❤❤❤❤will comment later on haul since just now watching.😂
I just finished my 3 sons, oldest son Mike married, left the show ( till season 5) never mentioned again so they adopted erni to have 3 sons again, William frawly from lucy played the grandpa till he died in real life was replaced by uncle Charlie, 12 seasons lol 😂😂😂 this was fun!
As a nurse for 25 years and also had a parent with Lewy body Dementia (the worst kind of Alzheimer's/Dementia) you/your father has to introduce activity slowly the main objection is to keep her moving, keep her balance etc., I would take my dad for short walks and every time we would go for a walk I would extend the walk by 10 minutes, I also would take my dad in my car to the beach to watch the water and sunrise and sunsets, getting your mom use to being around people (more then just you and your family), I would go to Walmart for short shopping trips also, too many people causes over stimulation and more confusion in ppl with dementia/alzheimers going slow is key.
@@HaulerTime with my dad I had to trick him and I’m not telling to do the same I’m just telling you what worked for me, I would tell him we were going to Home Depot because when he was healthy he loved Home Depot, and after I told him we were going to Home Depot I would then take him to the beach or for a walk or to Walmart, I would go super early when not a lot of people were around because Alzheimer’s/dementia get very over stimulated. If she’s at a point in her disease process where she absolutely refuses to leave I would just make sure she keeps the abilities she has right now ie: walking continents etc taking her to bathroom every two hours is what I do at work with our patients , dementia likes to take ppls balance that’s why ppl with dementia fall a lot, have her do strengthening exercises I got my dad to do the ones I learned at work from physical therapy but you can find a bunch on you tube. My dad has since passed and I miss him every day. My dad would say to me “ I can’t remember anything anymore “ and I would say as long as you remember me your okay and he would say “ your right” in the end it wasn’t Alzheimer’s that killed him, he fell down a flight of stairs and got a blood clot to the brain but I honestly believe he prayed for that to happen I know what your going through and pray for your mom and family every night God Bless Make sure basement doors are locked etc where she can’t fall like my dad did, I felt guilty for a long time because I didn’t lock the basement doors.
Those games look fun Trivandrum was hard. I only got 2 out of 8 It's hard having a parent going through that illness my mom had it. She lived in a nursing home because no one could take care of her. She lived, I think, 8 years with it. My mom became very abusive and started screaming at the end.
Maybe try just short field trips with your Mom. Like a quick drive to a local park or playground to “see”, maybe 15 minutes. And I’d say watch your Dad for signs that it’s time for her to move. Is he appearing more worn, tired, a bit defeated, irritable, uninterested in family or church? All signs he’s running out of endurance, and you don’t want him getting run down and ill! For additional insight have you read Nancy Reagan’s book The Long Goodbye, about President Reagan’s years with Alzheimers?
Aimee stress on your Mom leaving her safe place might make things worse for her and your Dad. There is so much stimulating things that could trigger her. I dont know what stage she is in and how her medication is working. You eould have to discuss with her Dr and other professionals. My mom loved her Tv as well. Does she color? Sometimes they like coloring books. My Mom had a brain tumor effecting her toward the end we didnt know til final days why she got that way. 😢. Sending love amd prayers. Its not easy wasnt for me and my being a caregiver.
The question about your mother is difficult. My mother had dementia,. she did not want to lkeave her house. She did come out for my anut and cousin to eat for birthdays . She did not go anywhere else. sometimes early on she would come concerts. Later on she would not go anywhere. It is difficult. Strangely she would not mind people visiting her.
Unless she has cognitive impairment getting out would be beneficial but more importantly study show activity light exercise can slow down cognitive impairment.
Hey, I heard you say that you had Acne. Well, just accept it. I am 80 years of age and still suffer with it. I guess suffer is a little too extreme, but it is so aggravating. One day it is ok and the next a pimple is there. I have tried many things, but nothing has worked including seeing a dermatologist. If you come up with something, please let the world know
Farkle! Not Funco/Bunco! 😂
😂😂
Does your dad play music that she knows TV shows that she used to watch and listen to this will help with memory😊😊❤
Enjoy your snow day 😊

Oh, how I remember the icy storms and heavy snowfalls of the Midwest. I must say I kinda miss it. Stay safe and thank you for the video.
I housekeep for a living and the dip is definitely the one
Hi Aimee, thanks for sharing love everything!! 😊

So true! Side note - I love pipe organ music. Not sure how similar that is to a regular organ, but it’s such a rich sound.

How about in home activities...coloring, chair yoga, walks around the house inside? Puzzles?

Also music works really well
What if we can’t get her to leave the house. She refuses to go anywhere.

39:23 The one on the left looks a little darker.
Great haul for snowed in I love games but kids dont play no more arent here😢.
That’s the downside of them getting older, isn’t it? 😂
Those games look fun
