    I love how you're talking behind your tomato bush on your table 😂
    We have loads of green tomatoes too. I live in hope for them all ripening before the blight gets them 😂
    A great way of skinning tomatoes 🍅👍😃

    I just call mine the back garden. Volunteers are the best. Strange little gadget you got ... a simulated bee. I use a small water color brush. Tomatoes ( a nightshade) require such perfect conditions. They are so yummy and good for you. My papa called them LOVE APPLES. I so enjoy watching you have fun.
    Thank you.

      I found the footage of the pollen and put a short up. Yes, they were called love apples as they were thought to have aphrodisiac properties back in the day

      LOL A great bit of kit. It does struggle with tomatoes a bit, but I suppose they are really extreme. Very juicy anyway and not very fiberous. Maybe that it is why they stopped making it?

    Oh crap 🤦‍♀️ a list why didn’t I think of that 🤣🤣. We finally 🎉🎉 got rain last night and a bit today. Hopefully tomorrow I can harvest more tomatoes and get some beds tucked in for winter. For me the wtf is my beans, last year I had bags and bags given away and frozen, this year 2 bags a few fresh cook ups. 😂 it even sounds like a bee 🐝. I’m a lazy preserver especially tomatoes 🍅 it’s chop in 1/4 and freeze. But great job, have a super day, Ali 🌧️🇨🇦

      Cheers Ali. It really has been my worst ever year for growing veggies, I was chatting with a few friends in Birmingham on Tuesday and they said similar!
      I was hoping that we would have a warm Autumn but with 4°C last night I guess not 😢😢 so it looks like I'll be seed sorting a few weeks earlier this year LOL

      @@DigwellGreenfingers I was saying the same to someone the other day. As hot as it’s been here compared to last year I had given away loads of beans and tomatoes and had another ton in the freezer. This year a few harvests of beans 🫘 and tomatoes are the shits. One small variety took so long to ripen they were actually tough 🤦‍♀️. Onwards and upwards 👍👍

    Don't know about the right frequency, it sounds like a bee......😂. What potato fertilizer do you recommend Steve, got a nice performer for Malvern, considering they didn’t get much love. Enjoyed the Ninja bit, do you get much waste in that prosses.

    • @DigwellGreenfingers
      @DigwellGreenfingers  3 дня назад

      I don't really Terry. I can't understand how they all claim to be potato fertliser but all have differing NPKs.
      Just the seeds and any big bits of pulp wasted. It was made more for things like apples so was at its limit with juicy toms.

    On my plot the cool spring and overcast delayed the ground warming up and really delayed loads of crops of which some failed to get over. My worst year for a lot of the warm loving crops. My Tomatoes in the Polytunnel have done reasonably well

      Sad to hear that. Might be worth using JBA Blight Guard next year? It does work. amzn.to/3ToObVH

    You really love a gadget, don't you? Didn't it take ages to clean? I still do mine the old-fashioned way. I just chop them and cook them until I'm happy with the consistency. Then in with a stick blender and it's dead easy to pass it all through a conical sieve.

      @@DigwellGreenfingers I had a heritage variety from Real seeds and they've got nice tomatoes but a bit slow in growing but that might down to a poor growing season.

    • @DigwellGreenfingers
      @DigwellGreenfingers  5 дней назад

      @@ibrstellar1080 It could well be the reason as it's one of the things that tend to drop toms (and other veg) out of favour. Slow growing, late harvest, early harvest, taste changes and things like that tend to stop sellers from marketing them, and all of a sudden they are heritage.
      Take many of the overwintering greens you see some heritage places trying to reintroduce - they will only ever give poor results these days as our winters are not cold enough for long enough anymore. They either give poor yields because of this or suffer from pest damage cos the pests they used to able to withstand are not being killed off in the prolonged frosts/snows.
