LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
    Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
    Nothing more precious

    Speechless. Appropriate reaction.
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics.
They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18.
They are amazing live. You should next check out “Holy War” live: "Holy War" Dual shred harmonies: ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Guys, that was a refreshingly down to earth reaction. Thanks for dissembling the whole genre and sub genre thing. This is, as the girls themselves love to tell you at the end of every gig, “Heavy Metal”. I’ll stick my neck out and suggest “Edge of the World” live from Zepp Diver City Tokyo in 2020 because it’s them in their best setting... live, but at the other end of the metal spectrum.. almost prog. Lovebites became my favourite band after one listen back in December, and I realise how ridiculous that sounds, but at 61 years of age I’d begun to despair that I’d never again here music of the kind I grew up on ... you know, Maiden, Purple, Priest, Zeppelin... Rainbow. Music played by decent musicians with powerful singers. Lovebites are a musical breath of fresh air. Metal with a smile that, let’s face it, are much easier on the eye than a bunch of hairy blokes. Great stuff. More please.

Welcomed to the amazing world of Lovebites; five awesome Japanese women who play (mostly) power metal but they are so talented, versatile and great musicians. They really shine in their live performances. If you want to see a recent and crazy video, try “Winds of Transylvania”.
I suggest the songs “Hammer of wrath”, “Break the wall”, “Raise some hell”, “Scream for me”, “Shadowmaker”, “When destinies align”, “Signs of deliverance”, “Thunder vengeance” and special mention to “Liar”, “Eagle fly free” (Helloween cover), “Dancing with the devil”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world” and “Epilogue “ (all live whenever possible)
    Lineup:
    Haruna: Drums
    Miho: Bass

Miyako: Lead & rhythm guitar, keyboards and classical piano

I have a feeling you were gonna say DragonForce? Lovebites actually toured with DF in the UK in 2019!
As you can see they are really good in the studio but, they are even better Live and with that in mind i have a few suggestions to make.
"Edge of the World" Live at Zepp 2020 - This one is totally different from what you just heard, another side of Lovebites.
"Break The Wall" Live at Zepp 2020 - Brings me back vibes of old Metallica, more of thrash metal this one.
"Raise Some Hell" Live at Zepp 2020 - Fun and filled with great riffs and solos, a more standard metal song.
This was a great reaction guys, really enjoyed, and i hope you continue discovering this band, because they are very versatile and play all sorts of Metal/Rock not just power metal!
    Thank you and stay safe!

Any song from the live 5 of a kind is worth watching. Quality is good, audio is great and they are just as tight live as they are on music videos. Well worth a further delve.

Lovebites is not a power metal band but a heavy metal band as the lead vocalist always says in their shows and I quote "We are Lovebites and we play heavy metal". Anyway, they are very diversified and versatile in the many styles of rock, hard rock, prog-rock, heavy metal, power metal thrash, grunge, and some amazing power ballads. I bet you want to hear some thrash and ultra thrash metal.
Hammer of wrath ruclips.net/video/vwkaJTyaLQQ/видео.html pure thrash
Break the Wall ruclips.net/video/G021aP2ao6Y/видео.html ultra thrash
Yes, there were too many idiots coming up with all of these genres and sub-genres and in all reality, it all comes from ROCK, if you play heavy it's ROCK, if your band consists of a singer, a guitarist, a bassist, and a drummer and you play solid it's ROCK! "Did they burn down the church?" "I fuckin' hope so" - exactly my type of humor :D - I'm not too keen on the Jesus bit here as well, but rest assured, they usually are not religious and since they're Japanese I assume that it's more like a fantasy role play for them (at least I hope so). Also, the cheesy bits are less prominent in their other songs. So, it only gets better when you listen to more of their stuff. Also check them out live, they're incredible live performers. Yeah, the sub-genre thing gets more than a little ridiculous sometimes. I mean, I understand the difference betwee power metal and thrash metal, but there are so many others that I usually have no idea what supposed genre or sub-genre a band is playing, and I think most people don't either, which I guess is why they keep inventing new ones for every band that doesn't easily fit into one of the million that have already been invented. Anyway, I get that people have to pause videos to avoid copyright strikes, but usually if they pause for more than a few seconds, I get pissed of because they interrupt the flow of the song and at that point they should start all over from the beginning, but for some reason when you two were rambling on for half an hour mid-song, I didn't get annoyed, in fact I enjoyed your musings and agreed with them. Also, I've never liked power metal, but Lovebites have become my favourite band, so they either do it better than everyone else, or what they're doing isn't exactly power metal, even though they've generally classified as power metal/thrash metal. I think just metal is fine.
