Why didn't the mother take the baby with her or at the very least stay with him. Chances are they were in danger but think of the danger of that baby being killed by the father? What a perfect revenge for him on the mother. I would NEVER save myself while leaving my child at his mercy. Prayers baby makes a full recovery and isn't permanently effected for the rest of their life.

At this point, who cares about the house?? Yes she lost her house but at least the baby is alive! A house can be replaced, a life cannot.
