After the long wait here is our first Gravity Falls CMV. We won't lie there is plenty more where this came from! Gravity Falls has become SkitsoFanActs obsession.
So the basics of CMV is all built around the idea of losing control. As the CMV goes on we watch as Dipper has every aspect of his life flip upside down after making a deal with Bill Cipher. By the end of the video everything has fallen into complete chaos and the Pines family has nothing left.
This video was first showcased at Anime Boston 2016 during our panel.

The whole Dipper being tied up over the pentagram made me think of how Demon possesion must be on Supernatural. How the vessels brain is locked away inside their mind and such. Nice work :)

ikr? I would've loved to see Bill go after Mabel while in Dipper's body and then Stan think Dipper was crazy, only to realize Dipper was actually possessed by Bill the whole time and then Dipper panicking about Mabel when Bill leaves his body
@@jennyisapokemontrainer2551+ Yeah, that sounds better! I feel like Disney really missed the whole 'powerful demon' concept up until Weirdmageddon. I know they wanted to tone down violence towards women and young kids, but did they honestly think that would fit with Bill's character? Yeah, Bill doesn't hurt Mabel as much because Dipper's simply more amusing, but he was REALLY pissed off at her that episode. While I don't think he would go as far as to actually kill her that time, he would have definitely left mental (and physical) wounds on both kids.
Mabel never really had a reason to fear Bill, not even during Weirdmageddon. It wasn't until she was clutched in his fist, thinking she was about to die (because it was totally her he was going to pick) that she realised exactly what he was. Canonically, nothing happened to Mabel besides a bruise during Sock Opera before Journal 3. That Suicide note Bill left her sent chills up my spine! *That* would have traumatised Mabel for sure, and suddenly, her nightmare of puppets at the end of the episode doesn't seem so unwarranted...

Yeah, I would've liked to see more of Bill/possession in general, but I also love the show the way it is :) It's true though, Mabel never really had a real reason to fear Bill until Weirdmageddon because he targeted Dipper more, but Bill was still really pissed at her.

All these years later and I still think this is the best cmv I’ve ever seen. You guys did such an amazing job with all the little details. You can really tell how much love went into making this💜
Ahhhh this is one of the best CMVs I've seen. Amazing work! The added effects make the entire thing cohesive and polished.
My only critiques are on acting. There were just a couple moments where I was taken out of a scene because of some acting choices. The one that gets me the most is at the beginning when Dipper slides down the mirror. He looks like he's chewing gum rather than breathing heavy or whispering to himself. Another point is when we see Dippers arms hoisted by the rope. His body and arms look unnaturally stiff. The last point I notice is when Bipper claws at his cheek when the banners unfurl. When Bipper real digs into his cheek after the banners are down, it feels very forced and fake (Possible solutions in my reply to this comment because I want to give constructive critiques instead of pure criticism)
For the mirror scene, I would utilize chest movement more. It conveys heavy breathing better. If the intention was to have Dipper whispering to himself, just make the movement bigger.
When we see Dipper standing with his arms raised by ropes before he lifts his head to reveal his Bipper eyes, I would sag your arms a little bit, or change how you stood. It looked a little too unnatural to have stiff arms and feet together with perfect upright posture, even for Bipper. Just sagging your entire body (elbows slightly bent, knees slightly bent and buckled, shoulders relaxed, hands can still be grabbing the ropes) would have made it look like Dipper's body was being supported by the ropes more than the floor. Then when Bipper raises his head, the posture could have changed to the more upright stance and given a real sense of possession and that someone else is now in Dipper's body (concluded in my second reply).
Then there's the face clawing scene. I think my gripe with it is is that Bipper looks at the camera for too long. I believe it would have had more impact if he started the claw as he did, but looking off camera. Then for the real dig and rip, he looks straight into the camera. Another thing would be for him to have a more gleeful expression when he digs in instead of an angrier one (again having him stare happily blankly off camera at the start could have helped this too. It gives more contrast for expressions).
I'm sorry if I sound hyper critical (especially of Dipper's actress! I don't want to make you feel bad! You just had the most screen time >~
Hello, I wanted to thank you for the for the critiques, we don't normally hear any so its nice to have some feedback. I really do appreciate it and I'll make sure to use some of these neat little tips and tricks in future videos we do. All I can say is that when we filmed in the warehouse, which is where most of your critics were it was terribly cold out/raining and my body was EXTREMELY cold and stiff at that point after filming for a hour in a t-shirt and shorts so I honestly did not preform at my best. The mirror scene had to be filmed a certain way to create the effect which limited a lot of my acting, not that I am trying to defend myself, like I said I do appreciate the tips. I won't lie I hated what my expression I did even to this day I watch that scene and cringe, but we could only do that makeup once so it was what it was. If we were a real professorial studio making a profit off this then maybe I could have afforded to do it again, haha.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that the special effects and cinematography distracted from my acting and still made the project look cohesive. Thanks.

Yeah. I love the cosplays of Bill, and he looks much better as a human I personally think. The reason I don't watch Gravity Falls is because the animation style... well... is waaayy too childish for such a deep cartoon. And, as I said, Bill is better as a human.

Even after 5 years this is my favorite cmv the expression's to the lighting is amazing ^^
Ive been around the CMV block more than I'd care to admit. And this - this fucking CMV - is the most artful and cinematographic and just downright aesthetically pleasing CMV I've seen in my life. Everything from the acting, to the sets, to the makeup, to the editing, and hell, even the lighting, was just absolutely exquisite. You can really see the time and effort put into every scene and it really does pay off in the end.
Thank you for setting a prime example of what CMV's should be.

Bill Cipher Fan+ He wasn't sure what was happening. As far as we're aware, Stan didn't know anything about Bill Cipher at this point (apparently.) All he knew was that Dipper was acting weird, he was being violent to Mabel and that it wasn't part of the script.

This CMV came to be around the time I started cosplaying (mid March 2016) and now I'm doing international qualifiers at cosplay competitions. Y'all definitely had a *big* influence on me as a teen in terms of performance and scripting.

yeah pretty much. we show a bit of the make up process in the behind the scenes but the basic supplies were liquid latex, scar wax, Halloween store blood and two different cream make up wheels

I’ve already watched this multiple times and I just rewatched it after many months and I still felt the emotion pouring into every movement wether it be the insane looks of Bipper to the sad realization Dipper had at the end of the video.
What editing program do you use? I am working on a CMV, but Windows Movie Maker isn't very good.
DigitalMindtheatre We use Sony Vegas it's just a more advanced version of Movie Maker. We love it!

Is it for MAC's or Windows?
Sony Vegas is only for Windows but you can get Final Cut Pro or an Adobe program for Mac instead.

Oh, dude. This is awesome! At first, I found myself turning away. Then I asked myself: "Wait, why?" I mean, this is a good CMV! But then, that's reason.
This is amazingly well done.
I'm a squeamish person by nature, but I never really get hyped up about special effects because, well, they're fake. But the make-up done here and the acting by Bipper made it feel way too real. I could hardly force myself past the initial "trial" portion of Bipper's possession, when he's twisting his body or stabbing himself or ripping at his face. Sincerely, it was amazing.
Now to watch more of your CMVs because you and deatharising are the peeps that got me obsessed with them. Thanks for that. >3>
