- Jorge Jiménez is the superstar of comics right now and DC's greatest asset. He's currently drawing their best-selling Batman book as well as teaming with Mark on this week's NEMESIS RELOADED #1. In the past he's drawn such major titles as Superman and Justice League to tremendous acclaim. A native of Spain, he didn't feel comfortable doing an entire, in-depth interview in English and so we drafted in Mark's friend Carlos to ask the questions Mark had prepared for him. Jorge is the greatest artist in North American comics by a wide margin. I buy physical copies of everything he touches and study his work obsessively. He's an international treasure

Brave choice to put this interview in Spanish, Thanks. It reminds me how I felt when I got to see how people from all racial background have worked on comics, this matter to me being a mix race kid growing up, mostly seeing caucasian main characters, this lead me to understand there are so many more tales to explore through the various lenses of the melty pot of people around the world.

This interviews are amazing and the background info about the old Millarworld boards are just crazy. You know what: The boards were a LOT OF FUN and I really miss this kind of for and back with you guys. It was fun to talk to fans and pros alike and just LOVING comics, writing and art and all other great entertainment stuff. Twitter and other social media forms are not the same. Millarworld (Forum) was just an awesome experience! A lot of the discussions and feedbacks are the reason for me doing my own comics this days. Nothing like it today anymore.
No wonder Jorge is so good at drawing heroes, if he needs reference he just has to look in a mirror.

Jorge is going to influence the next 30 years of comics. There’s no way around it. Also, can you get Rick Remender as a guest? As you both started doing creator own titles exclusively and only hire the best artists. This is the only way to prove that you aren’t the same person!
This guy was on Millarworld? Wow! I was on there. Mark knew me a little as "Billy Parker." I met Mark and JRJR in an Austin signing for Kick-Ass. I told Mark, "I'm on Millarworld." Because of that and a joke I told, Mark gave me the ALL TIME BEST AUTOGRAPH AND SKETCH IN MY KICK-ASS HARDCOVER! What is it? I can't say here. Let's just say it's "Not safe for work." 🤣 But I really want to show Mark that autograph again one day in person because it can't be shown in public. 😅 It's insane. 😉 Maybe we can chat one day. A few weeks ago, didn't Mark Millar say he talked to DC about doing a Superman story in the near future? And then in this interview, Jorge Jimenez talks about how he'd like to draw a really great Superman story in the future... no way... this is too funny.
Not only a story but Jorge has been beggin to do an entire run on Superman. Is his favorite character after all.

I took Spanish in HS but I'm rusty, so I ended up using the auto-translate to English feature to read the English subs.
Low key, I thought Marvel and DC were hiring artists outside of America because they can pay them cheaper, but the "cheap" American currency would translate to a (hopefully) high amount in the foreign currency.
When I read articles about how there's not enough diversity in comic, I was also noticing how a bunch of pencillers and colorists had Spanish last names, so I was like, comics are pretty diverse, why don't articles talk about that more??
Some of the auto-translated English subs might be inaccurate, so I might be getting an incorrect translation, but that's pretty interesting that Jorge Jimenez was pursuing another career, and then switched to comics, and in 10 years, he's like one of the biggest names.
Jorge describing how Nemesis is evil sounds great. With the way stories are told nowadays, I was wondering how much was Nemesis 2 going to push the envelope? Seems like it'll be close to the original, or maybe even further lol.

why don‘t you bring back the Millarworld boards? This was such an amazing Message board back then. I miss this kind of comic audience. We don‘t have message boards and no Wizard magazine anymore… HOW should comics EVER get great agin for the mainstream then???
