transporting the PC on a bike - brings back memories :)
on a bike!!, I didn't even think of such a thing, thanks for your comment :D
How the hell would you do that?!
I do that now lol when I go dumpster diving. I can’t drive yet, so I go by bike
Late 90s -- the best time to be alive...Quake and Quake 2, Starcraft, Dune 2000, Baldurs Gate, Unreal and Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, Thief, Fallout, Deus Ex...still the best games ever created!
Period correct decorated area for 70s-80s computers is such a brilliant idea. Nice and comfy.
12:41 - Polish Tyskie beer ! I'm not drinking but good choice anyway, Greetings from Poland !
Our neighbors are a polish supermarket, so it's pretty easy to get and tastes good :)
Zywiec is better IMO but it's an exotic beer in German supermarkets while Tyskie is nearly everywhere while both are just mass produced beers though AFAIK.
I recall on my past LAN partys carrying big tower pcs and old fashioned 19" CRT monitors. What a great time. Great channel, I like it really!
2:33 make this your intro!! I love how the screens behind you flickered :D
2:31 to 2:40 was some neat cinematography with those flashing screens, the spinning chair and the music.
I’m from 2007 and this is still awesome
Made it here first.... Woo hoo lanparty. Reminds me of our lanparties, the first half of the night was fixing pc problems or installing network cards.
Very nice video!!! Thank you for this immersion in this LAN Retro Party! It's nice to see the atmosphere and the troubles encountered (on the PCs of others ^^ ) ... as if there were !! Your Pentium II is very good, it's a nice PC!
That LAN-party brings back memories... Thanks for sharing :D
I really wish I could come to one of these!!
That dude with the frizzy hair seems a nice guy,i liked the part where he was talking about changing his sound card to a Vortex 2 but they're pricey and hard to find,I actually have a Working Vortex 2 :D
Nothing against the Vortex 2, in fact I bought one last year, but for a PC built around the Voodoo5 it's too old IMO, the Audigy 2 fits it much better considering most games you'd play on a V5.
the trolling case is mine :P for up side down gaming
I saw my first K62 pc at a lanparty wooOOo. I loved how half of the lan peeps woukd be working on there pc and doing this exact thing...Dreamhack forever
Awesome event! That new, IIRC, NEC MultiSync CRT was mind blowing. I would've loved one of those back in the day and also today of course :-)
I remember doing lan parties, one of them... we were almost 30 people in a normal house, we made all the electric system crash with a short circuit and the father of the guy who was hosting screaming all blasfemy against us for the damage
looks like little retro paradise :D
just a good people, in good place
Awesome! Brings back so many memories
Just perfect :) i remember the old days :)
Love the chair mentions and spin Victor 😁
Nice! I used to play Quake 3: Arena when i was little.
"you probably will hear TOK" 22:45 LMAO!!!
Looks like you had a lot of fun :) That was nice to see
Polish beer(Piwo, Browar, in Polish ;-) ) Tyskie
Dude, you're living the dream, all over again!
Also, lan parties were more relevant in those days because the internet was slow as hell.
Just found this on a old 2001 mIRC log: [Ric]{6 PING reply]: 17mins 7secs
What an awesome video!
Thank you for showing me times I was too young to experience.
(First LP was in Win XP times^^`)
Cool museum. Nice LAN Party. Young guy also participate. That's cool. If my vintage system building getting done, i will to host a LAN party too.
Do you build several systems for that LAN party or just one and the other players need to bring their own?
Man is love old hardware like this! Even tough my daily use computer can run most of these games fine i still have my Athlon XP 2500+ Build and my Pentium 3 500 mhz slot 1 computer and play on them or use my Pentium 4 laptop that runs a desktop pentium 4 version for when i go on a trip. They are still great for this and i will never get rid of them. Awesome video as always!
Really neat LAN party, and the computer museum is amazing. I loved your pentium2/voodoo2 build, and the cool guy with his modern/retro style ala Phil's computer lab. Felt bad for the fellow who broke his system while transpoting on bike! I would have loved to play quake with you all!
Ahh, the memories. Kinda mnakes me wish I still had my old pentium and geforce 2 ;) Cheers!
Just build a new one! :D
Awesome video, Victor! Looks like it was a really fun LAN party.
Keep up your awesome content! :)
Nicolas, you here? Awesome!
Thanks! Nicolas you should come to the Netherlands next Lanparty!
Yeah, I definitely should visit the Netherlands sometime! :D
It's amazing how well I understand certain sentences in Dutch. Probably because my first language is German and English is my second one.
Was this LAN party beforehand announced anywhere?
Good old times... I remember playing with friends (AoE2, Patrizier 2, Cultures,...) with actual computers... then we were not allowed to visit other people anymore due to a pandemy... so now we have to use vpn until we are free again
18:33 bye bye the guy: CIAO! me: what ,what THE FUCK! italian confermed btw i'm italian too
Nice LAN-Party, wish to have participated^^ But one way to Amsterdam is about 700km... ... by bike of course^^
Keep the magic alive!
Ooo tyskie 😁
I enjoyed this.
Hi Victor, I'm a collector of old gameplays recorded on VHS & DVD from 1980's, 1990's and 2000's and Old Demos (Dem_files) from PC Games. And since that you have uploaded this video from a demo, I wondering if you still have some old stuffs and Demos.
Thanks in advance for your answer, keep it up, and you just won a suscriber.
We made last year a Lanparty, I had the Toshiba Satelite pro 420cdt with the Pentium 90 mghz 8 mb RAM and a 512 mb Harddrive with windows 95 B😎👌
Какие ретро? Мы на таких еще работаем!
Oh, wait, that "I LOVE MY PET" t-shirt... that's one of 8-bit Guy's shirts, isn't it? Nice!
That is correct.
I like every single of 8-Bit Guy's shirts, they are all creative and I like them even with the puns. I.E: "I like my chips with D.I.P"
I'm watching this video in my Acer Aspire 5315 Windows XP machine :)
That was cool - will you guys be hosting another Retro LAN Party again in 2019?
such a nice system with a Voodoo 5 5500 but get a more well known good PSU!
Sick Volvo.
I remember driving 50 km on the train in 1997 with my 25 KG monitor and Big Tower on the way to a lan party
Commodore 64 Shirt guy looks familiar.... he's in one of the Retro PC Facebook groups isn't he? EDIT: Ahh! It is! Its Pascal! Man would've been awesome to be there, but, sadly, airfare from Canada to The Netherlands is a bit pricey.
I saw what you had in the racing game, "snow_texture", looks really nice, maybe you need to get your voodoo type card examined, (whisper) not that I'd advice it, please tell me about the heatsink condition of the voodoo card, :D. from a friendly gamer.
usually setting headlights to vertex instead of projected fixes that texture bug on Voodoo cards, it's the only headlight option that works for 3dfx cards iirc.
Ah back in the day of 10/100 lans. Everyone bottle-necking the switch sharing "stuff"
How did you grow your beard back so fast Victor?
Should do Worms Armageddon, Need for speed III Hot Pursuit, Midtown madness 2, revolt are a few more games you should try in a lan.
(Cops & robbers in midtown madness 2 with a few modded cars is great, just make sure you all have the same modded cars otherwise you might see another standard car that's faster or much heavier then the standard car you can pick yourself on your own game.)
I actually have a LAN party capable system of my own, it’s an athlon thunderbird 1 ghz, a Radeon 7200 DDR, 768mb of PC133 ram and a 60gb hard drive running Windows 98
6:05 can someone tell me the name of the case next to the keyboard, above the yellow toolbox? I've been given a windows 98 pc with it and i'm still looking for it's origin. I think it's a gigabyte prebuilt.
Greeting from Russia!
Tijd voor Deel II - Let's Plan Part II - i Love unreal - used a beamer for supprice-supprice monitor :D
I run quake on 486 too, little bit smaller window but kind of playable.
I wish that where i live these things happened, back in the day i couldn't afford a lot of lan time.
I ran it on 486 DX2 66mhz 20mb ram and 1mb vlb videocard back in 1996
Victor Bart - RETRO Machines damn , i did it on a dx4 vlb system.
I had a DX2 80 AMD chip 8mb of ram and a 420mb hard drive so much storage lol and a 2MB Trident VLB card in 1995 and played Quake on it.
I went to lanpartys alot we called it delta club... I provided a hp procurve 24 port 1U switch auto managed
Nobody ever plays games at a Lan party. You just spend all night setting it up and then get drunk and fall asleep at 3 am
The monitor iiyama is 22"?
Cool, nexttime i will come to your Retro lan, is it Possible?
I want to set something up like this one day, albeit a little smaller, in my basement. Does anyone have any suggestions for desks that don't break the bank. Cheaper being better. I was wondering if old school computer lab desks can be acquired and used for such a thing.
what tables are those? i need one
I live close by, how can i get informed about upcoming lans?
I got a 90s compaq deskpro 2000 with some games on it but at the moment it doesn’t have a graphics card. Only cirrus logic 1 mb video chip so no 3D games work really or like sim city 3000 you get glitches.
Cirrus Logic is very good for DOS games, but I don't know if Sim City 3000 is a DOS game & what it's system requirement are.
It depends on the Deskpro's system specs what options you have to upgrade that machine.
Wasn't the guy at 18:35 from czech? i think i heard him say čau
Ciao, Italian. Spanish and Portuguese use it too, in Portuguese it's written "xau".
In Germany we use "ciao", too, but to say "good bye" instead of the Italien meaning which is "hello" or "good day" as far as I know. I didn't know that it was used in the Netherlands, too, despite me being there often.
I also never heard it in my Spanish lessons, but I quit those after half year so maybe I just gave up too early :-)
"Cau" in Czech is to say hello or bye?
@@armorgeddon It is universal
ok :-)
If you have never blown out your back while moving your PC to a Lan party...you have never lived...or experienced pain...
And I still have my old old 48 hub/switch that we used for our Lan parties...
Hey man got retro PC s ranging from 286 to p4 maybe could join one day one of lan parties 😎 not far from Netherlands just over the channel
You are driving 1st gen Volvo V70!!!! great car!!!!!
it is 1st gen right?
Looks like it. 1st gen V70 was just a facelifted 850 if I remember correctly. Good car if you don't mind the front wheel drive.
How often do guys from HomeComputerMuseum host lan parties? I'd like to participate while I'm in Netherlands.
were dit you make your intro???
What games are you playing
Bigtowers on the table... You put big towers on the ground under the table ..
i was about to go to bed
zou leuk zijn geweest maar ik woon te ver weg :(
Is dit niet Wouter van power unlimted
this video reminds me DFI lanparty motherboards, some of their boards had a special "thing" in the BOX for transporting a PC
Show Me The CRT Monitors
