Made myself a dual wheel drive fat tire bike a few years ago...1000watt x2... Prefab have come along way! That looks fantastic. If you try one- you will never want to live without one again. Coolest useful toy ever.
I love my ebike. Currently patiently waiting to buy another that will have the capacity to carry two passengers since I'm about to have two kids and live an easy pedaling distance from both their future schools, an animal shelter, and library. Can't wait to be bringing two kiddos out for some good community service, free entertainment, and back from school in the afternoons one day.
Normally I would tell a rescue puppy how lucky they are to have found a good forever home and parents that love them, but in Nala's case, I'm gonna instead tell you how lucky you are that you found such a cute, well behaved and loving little girl.
video of the Year! feel sorry for Rocky ,there is solution-if You can get small trailer (like for kids) then we can see the happiest dogs on the earth, again was nice to see this
Love the ride with pup! Please wear florescent yellow or orange for even higher visibility to other drivers. It only takes one careless driver who is not paying attention to wreck your day!
I am only 4'10". I'm glad it will work for us shorties! That looks like so much fun! I wonder if I can hold out until Christmas...hum. Thank you for taking us for a ride!
In the UK we have things called gaiters for hiking! Be perfect for keeping ur Lower legs clean, they are also relatively easy to make with some water/shower proof fabric❤
I,m starting to like E bikes too. I plan on building one and making a video showing how it do it in the future, Nala looks like she was having fun. The piano music at the end was cool.
Yes! I originally got one for emergencies, but these fat tired ebikes are pretty good on trails and you can even fool yourself into thinking you are exercising! I got a folder one to work synergistically with the car - for those bad parking times. The only bummer is that the battery on my first one gave out after 2 years even though I didn't use it that much. Not sure if it is poor charging habits. I was thinking about getting a motorcycle license, but this seems good enough for where I'm at. I want to try this with my cat now...
Maybe you can find one of those baby buggy trailers put some thick tires on it and hook it on the back of your ebike then all three of you can go on future rides together.
Until she starts digging holes under the fence to try to get to the neighbors house. Or until you have company and she does not stop barking or jumping and kissing for the entirety of their stay.
A few of them sure could use repaving. It is also hard to keep a smooth camera going with just a selfie-stick when you're riding 28 mph on a bumpy road so it was partially my fault.
Good video, nice bike, like the info on the differant road surfaces, conditions and night riding. Also, like that it can charged by pedaling with the possibility adding a cart that could have some solar panels to assist charging not to mention both pups would like the cart too. Stay Safe and Good Luck
That's great I couldn't tell who was enjoying that ride more you or the puppy the only thing that would make that video better would be some goggles for the pup that would break the internet 😂...Also please be safe these crazy people on the road won't see that Bike any better then your motorcycle.....Good stuff
Hi! I just wanted to point out that you mounted the fork the wrong direction, i mean its facing backwards. Have myself a similar one, want to get carless too:) Love your channel, keep up your great work. 👍
@@PrepperPrincess It's not the fork, you just have your handle bars on backwards. Spin the wheel around so the handlebars are backwards facing you while you on the seat. Take your handlebars off and reorient them so they are the correct way.
Cute dog Nala, great fun poking out and looking around, please he needs a harness NOT a collar, God forbid he jumps out he would be hanging from his neck, please..we are sure you own a harness for the little one...and if you don't...you can pick one up for cheap .Please?
Hi PP. I heard you say that you can ride them on the sidewalk , if there is no bike lane, is that correct ? I have a bike and a place in Arizona ,but sometines the bike lanes disappear I to the road ,so riding on the sidewalk would be so great. Someone told me that you couldn't. Thanks so much.
I am in the process of fixing that. I got a dog carrier that goes behind the bike. I can put Rocky in that and Nala in the backpack. I haven’t set it up yet though.
That is super heavy even for an e-bike! But super nice! I picked up a gen3 used. I bought a po campo set of grocery bag panniers that are super nice! Nice music on this one PP! Oh and I also have a rear view mirror on my left handlebar….didn’t think I would use it but I use it constantly.
Wow can’t believe how fast you are allowed to travel in USA. We are limited to 15.5mph in Australia. We also have to use hand signals when we turn to warn other motorists around us our direction. But it looks like fun. 😊
I rode mine as a daily commuter to and from work all last summer through a heatwave. On those super hot days I would disconnect my battery, put it in my backpack and bring it in with me to work while securing the bike with my usual lock and chains. Never had a problem.
Get a bike trailer. I have one from Burly, light weight, easy to assemble, and folds for easy storage. Easily carries a power station and panels, not to mention groceries and most anything else you would need. Only drawback, price $300-$500. There are lower priced trailers available. But in my opinion Burly makes the best. You may however want to change the tubes to more flat resistant tubes and the tires to knobby tires. An easier solution to greater range is to buy a spare battery and keep it fully charged. When your battery rubs low simply swap it out and charge both when you get to an outlet. But I think it would be a big mistake to get rid of your car. It really isn't costing you that much especially if you use your e bike for most trips. You may even qualify for low annual mileage insurance rates.
My two cents (as a dedicated ebike rider for 10 years now): second batteries are expensive. Better and cheaper to simply take really good care of the battery you have (only charge it when you NEED to, not every single day if you don't need to as the battery is only good for about 1,000 charges just like your rechargable double AAs). True to "Prepper Princess" cheap sake style, I actually calculate how much charge I have left, how much charge I need for my next trip and I only charge it IF I need more charge for the next trip then I currently have (and yes, I do google maps the distance and compare it to the distance left available on my battery based on my useage, as this amounts to a HUGE cost savings in the end) Trailers are overrated unless you are doing MAJOR hauls regularly. I don't own a car, but I do have a driver's licence. For every day local trips, ebike is more than fine. I take public transit about 1x/month, I get a friend with a car to help me run an errand about 4x/ year, I might rent a car 2-3x/ year. With an ebike, I don't miss not owning a car, and I save about $10,000/ year in transportation costs. Here is my cheap sake alternative (and MUST have) for my ebike with a rear carrier (like you have). I keep these in my pannier pocket with 2 caribiner clips attached to each of them, and voila! Instant cargo hauler (clip one on to each side of the rear carrier) when you find yourself suddenly taking a detour on the way home via the grocery store (I haul ALL my groceries on my ebike, with no trailer this way): www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/raeckla-bag-foldable-black-20432852/

Question.. is the idea of an ebike to only use power.. or pedal 50 percent of time too.. is pedaling an issue
I'm it appears you don't pedal that much
I prefer using them like a motorcycle in town, not pedaling. I pedal only when off road.

15.5 is still plenty fast. I usually don't go faster than 18 or so unless I'm on a huge long open road.

I'm wondering how the heat effects battery life on those 90-100 degree days in Cali as a commuter bike
