They should invent a detector that screams "eureka" when you hit a target l reckon, well only gold, hope you are getting some good footage and look forward to your first season, cheers NM.
Hahaha..yeah that would be great. As long as no one else is around to hear it. Might have to use headphones..lol Seriously love your work. No show pony stuff..just gold and business. The way it should be. Footage is always there, its the gold that isn't . lol Hopefully before end of march I will have Ep 1 uploaded. Single fulltime dad with 3 kids in primary school, so time is always tight. Looking forward to seeing how much those iron specs dolly up to. Shame you have to crush them...but oh well
Whenever mate, just hoping you hit that nice deposit, by the end of march l will be back in the bush with no ceppy but l will defineately watch when l hit town, people like the bush settings, nature as well as the finds so l reckon it will be a good show and l look forward to it, l only smash ugly speci,s, btw, the ones with little visible gold so a couple of them are keepers, good luck in the hunt, cheers NM.
Thanks Russ very inspiring and educational as always, and of course well deserved, I really get excited when I get a notification that you have uploaded another Vid, any chance you could film the dolly work and panning when you do it that would be awesome. Cheers and thanks again RB
Thanks for that, glad you enjoyed, l will defineately do another vid on the dollying and panning and upload later in the year, fingers crossed its reef material, cheers NM.
No worries Justin, with only 4 to 6 weeks till next season l will try to upload as l go, depends on my luck l guess, thanks for all the positive feedback, cheers NM.
Thanks David, should be back at it in around 4 to 6 weeks as it starts to cool down and the detector runs smooth, you never know what waits out there, glad you enjoyed the vid,s and thanks for watching, cheers NM.
Always enjoy your videos NM, have learnt quite a lot from them. Looking forward to my first expedition probably May, June & July. Have picked out Mt Magnet Sandstone area.
Yeah that first speci was right between the posts, be nice to find the rock they were falling off, anyway next season is only 4 to 6 weeks away so fingers crossed l find something worth getting the camera out for, glad you enjoyed and cheers for watching, NM.
Nice to see that all the hard work and beating your truck is worth it plus it sounds like you have some promising land to explore in depth maybe the motherlode is just around the corner fingers crossed my friend atb Russ.
Thanks Russ, defineately promising so gathering info on a possible lease, it was the deepest wash l have come across so could be hiding smaller nuggets too deep for the detector to pick up, a lease would take time so once again its patience, should be back at it in about 4 to 6 weeks as it starts to cool down anyway, thanks for the positive vibe, cheers NM.
Check out my 2017 vid,s, better editing and big specimens, heres a link to one of them ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=xAa42c7w0gk also pt 1 has a nice 1 ouncer, hope you get time to watch, cheers and thanks NM.
Hi Russle. Man you making my HEART ❤️ BLEED..😩😂 Congratulations 🍾 on those fantastic looking specimens.. Hope your keeping cool and catching a lot of fish 🎣. Cheers TONY.👍🍺⛏
Hi mate, do you find the time to work the gold fields is March through till later in the year is best weather wise.? are you WA based or in the Eastern part of the country.?just wondering on travel time . cheers Chris
Yeah, its gets too hot for electronics and fridges, last year l bailed for 6 weeks in March because of the heat, so usually April till October, cheers NM.
Cheers for that, if a lease is possible l will go for it, there were no old timers shafts in the area so the source is a possibility, glad you enjoyed the vid, cheers again, NM.
Gidday JD, just come back into reception for a couple of days, heading back to the gold fields over the next few days, still mid 30,s celcius but will cool down from here on in, stay well my friend, cheers NM.
What's up Russ, haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is going well. I finally decided to drop some money and got a GPX 5000 and am heading over to WA around the end of August for a month or 2 and try to find a good piece of land to put a lease on. Anyway, it came with 2 coils a 11" commander mono coil and a 15" commander mono coil. I am heading out for a good solid field test tomorrow to get a good feel for how the settings work but i am curious about coils. Have you used the commander coils or did you go strait for a certain coil when you purchased your's as i notice you always use the same coil in all your videos and i also notice a lot of other people using that same coil. Also are DD coils important to have on hand for anything or stick to the mono for deeper targets? Cheers Nick 😀
Hope you're all good Russ and still chasing the gold. I just got back from a few week trip over to WA detecting and barely found enough yellow to cover the 5000km round trip. Left from Adelaide and started detecting at Norseman, and then went to Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie, Burlong, Kanowna, Ex Goongarie, Menzies and Leonora. I feel i have the GPX 5000 working well as i found a sub 1 gram target at around 10 to 12 inches deep but what i am lacking is identifying ground to detect. If you have time this year can we get a fresh look at what to look for besides the obvious as everyone looks for the obvious, like do you ever see ground worth detecting that hasn't got rocks and quartz scattered around and if so what other indications are there? Lack of trees? Small shrubs but no tall trees meaning shallow ground to bedrock? red dirt? hills vs flat areas? just throwing out things i think about with nothing to back it up lol. Also is raking a good idea when detecting in a heavily detected area but has a history of gold mining dating back to the 1800's? Do you rake at all? like i dig 2 or 3 feet in a area i check frequently and there is always broken up large chunks and small chunks of quartz. Is this natural or is it just a meter or so of old miners overburden and tailing's? I got a million questions lol and i hate to rapid fire but i google gold stuff everyday but i love hearing it strait from the horses mouth and you have proved time and time again you know your stuff. Cheers Nick :)
Are you doing videos again this year Russ? I was all set to give it a crack this year in WA but the place I worked at burned down and left me out of work since mid February. As a veteran of gold prospecting what chance would you give the average joe of finding anything of real value over say a month or 2 of wondering around the bush?
Gidday, might do something different this year, not quite sure yet, its getting very overgrown in the west after the big rainfalls in the past 2 yrs hence the change for me, but you never know what you will find till you try, l am constantly amazed by what l find just by walking around the bush, sorry to hear about your workplace, hope things get back to normal soon, cheers NM.
great to see thanks for 2017 update good to hear that you still have the touch . Just one question, don't have to answer question if not wanting to give away , the total amount of gramms found 2017
They have videos here at YT that show things being crushed in massive hydraulic (i think) Presses. I think it would be a great way of separating the gold from the quartz!
Did you say 137g dry wt & 176 wet wt at time approximately 3 minutes, that may be a mistake, since wet should always be less than dry. Otherwise great video. InventPeaceNotWar
Thanks Peter, defineately a bit of luck on the 274 grammer as the grass was long and it just happened to be in a small clearing of around 2 meters square, must of had my name on it, glad you enjoyed, cheers NM.
I think so, probably hydrofluric acid would be the go, the gold matrix would break up into separate pieces though unless it was completely attached internally, cheers NM.
Hi would be interesting to see how the maths theory stands up to actual gold weight? You could look at doing a vid of crushing the smaller of the quartz specimens and seeing how the actual gold content compares? Anyways great content thanks again.
Its pretty accurate l found after smashing a 259 grammer, the SG test said 29 grams and l panned out about 29.5 grams, defineately not the right test for ironstone specimens, anyway it would make a good video so cheers for the idea, thanks again for watching and good comment, cheers NM.
The above SG maths is a pretty rough estimate. The "actual" weight of gold content will be quite a bit less. A more accurate weight involves a constant....bit boring to go into here.
I suggest when you find that reef that you probably should roll up a nice reefer... anyway well done and do a crushing and panning vid so as we can see how it goes.
Mate if l find that reef l will already be laughing and l will defineately upload a crushing and panning vid, the area has gone live now from pending so the only way l can get back on is with my own lease if possible, other than that its back to walking the beat, glad you enjoyed, cheers NM.
Wow thats some sweet stuff that can hit you with that gold fever 🤒 hehe Ja jävlar vilka fina stenar.... I wish I was born in Australia 🇦🇺 when I see this 🤓😁
TheNuggetMagnet No we don’t have that much Free gold. Hehe maybe someday ill maybe have the opportunity to travel to Australia.. It’s not so cheep to go there 🙈 A last minute ticket cost 3642 AUD hehe and in swedish kronor its 23000kr and thats a good month paycheck and now I’m sadly way below that mark I’ve been hurt for over a year. Lost one finger when I stopped 2 dogs fighting🤨 The worst finger also 🖕🏽 And the dog chew of 2 cm
You could do research to see if your country has gold deposits, if not then you could search for other treasures, we are lucky to have alluvial gold fields like Canada, cheers NM.
I live in the Victorian Goldfields. My suggestion would be to drop into Coiltek in Maryborough (northern edge of town on the Dunolly road). They sell every thing you might need for prospecting including the gold maps. The staff are all prospectors and are happy to give you some guidance on where to go. Obviously they will not tell you their best spots though. Maryborough would be a top spot to try or pop up to Dunolly (home of the Welcome Stranger) where I hunt for gold.
Thanks Jane, 4 to 6 weeks and it all starts again, should start to cool around end of March, what will Mother Nature reveal this season????, cheers and thanks for the positive feedback, NM.
TheNuggetMagnet,,, look at the site Patreon so maybe some people will like to give you money for your video's,,,,,,your video's are good ,they are interesting.
You are indeed the NUGGET MAGNET.... well done again. Looks amazing.
They should invent a detector that screams "eureka" when you hit a target l reckon, well only gold, hope you are getting some good footage and look forward to your first season, cheers NM.

Good looking gold. I hope your next season rewards you even better.
I look forward to your 2018 videos.
Thanks Wayne, you just never know what Mother Nature will give up, hopefully find something worth videoing, cheers and thanks for watching NM.
Awesome watching the specific gravity test on the species. Awesome amount of nuggies for your work. Well done, hope to see more of your adventures ☺
Glad you enjoyed Sam, should be back out there shortly to see if l can find more signals, cheers NM.
Bloody beautiful, congrats and just reward for all your hard work
Thanks Mark, Mother Nature made me work for that first one, glad you enjoyed, cheers NM.

Hi mate, do you find the time to work the gold fields is March through till later in the year is best weather wise.?

Yeah, its gets too hot for electronics and fridges, last year l bailed for 6 weeks in March because of the heat, so usually April till October, cheers NM.
Very informative, cheers for sharing
Thanks for watching
It's your own Great Bearing Gold Reef. Eat your heart out Great Barrier Reef. Fantastic work mate.
Cheers for that, if a lease is possible l will go for it, there were no old timers shafts in the area so the source is a possibility, glad you enjoyed the vid, cheers again, NM.

Cheers mate, l defineately need to get myself a calculator for next time, fingers crossed, cheers NM.
Donde hay de esas piezas yo quiero unas iguales ...exelentes nugets verdaderos tesoros. Bellisimos specimenes.👏👏👏👏
Gidday, l hope you find yours soon, beautiful gold specimens for you, cheers NM.
great to see thanks for 2017 update good to hear that you still have the touch . Just one question, don't have to answer question if not wanting to give away , the total amount of gramms found 2017
Gidday David, lncluding specimens l had 925g,s and 1 other specimen around 42g,s but didn,t have much in it, cheers NM.
Hi have not seen any videos for awhile are still doing detecting cheers shaun ☺
They have videos here at YT that show things being crushed in massive hydraulic (i think) Presses. I think it would be a great way of separating the gold from the quartz!
Thats right, but on the small scale l use a dollypot and crush it that way, then pan out the gold, hope you enjoyed the vid, cheers NM.
Sir mate , i don't understand can you explain it to me how in steps, please
thanks for posting mate...
Did you say 137g dry wt & 176 wet wt at time approximately 3 minutes, that may be a mistake, since wet should always be less than dry. Otherwise great video. InventPeaceNotWar
That's some beautiful gold you have there.

Some great species there well done

Great video, thanks for sharing :)
Not a problem, its a great hobby and good exercise, great to see your finds increasing, keep up the good work, cheers NM.
Thanks for the great vid. Could you dissolve the stone with acid?
I think so, probably hydrofluric acid would be the go, the gold matrix would break up into separate pieces though unless it was completely attached internally, cheers NM.
Thanks. You mentioned the word "ceppy" in a previous message. Pardon my ignorance, but what does that mean? Best!
Mobile phone and internet reception, very few places out there have coverage, cheers NM.
Awesome love your videos
Always inspirational.
Hey always great you enjoy, thanks for the positive feedback, cheers NM.
Nice looking gold mate good job ⚒
How come no new videos lately?
Can I ask what model detector you use?
Very nice indeed, thanks for the years worth.
Thanks Peter, a couple of my best finds to date, you just have to keep looking, glad you enjoyed, cheers NM.
Nice work! Subbed.
Thanks Stu, its a great place to go for a walk, cheers NM.

I wish I was born in Australia 🇦🇺 when I see this 🤓😁
Du you might have a small specimen for sale?
I could probably find a couple but not until l get back to civilisation in Sept/ you could remind me then if you want, cheers NM.
ls there no gold in Sweden? if not, maybe you could visit one time and hire a detector, they have gold tours also, chase your dream, cheers NM.
TheNuggetMagnet No we don’t have that much Free gold.
Hehe maybe someday ill maybe have the opportunity to travel to Australia..
It’s not so cheep to go there 🙈

You could do research to see if your country has gold deposits, if not then you could search for other treasures, we are lucky to have alluvial gold fields like Canada, cheers NM.
Yeah, so if you know where I can find those in VIC I'm all ears :) nice finds.!!
Gidday Dave, Vic is home to the big ones, trouble is l dont know where, probably the best gold going, hang in there cos ya never know when, cheers NM.
I live in the Victorian Goldfields. My suggestion would be to drop into Coiltek in Maryborough (northern edge of town on the Dunolly road).
