As someone who loves catria and has a +10 catria, she has only really fallen off since we got ninja sanaki who didn't need her brave attack support. and yes, I res stacked catria and she did work against all but the few properly used or max invested elimine (which was basically 90% of elimine as so many didn't build elimine properly or play her properly) so my anima catria ball was still holding strong even during that post elimine, pre freyr era. Also, I need that catria image, that flustered image is so adorable

Considering how the new meta has enemy (player-built) team phase being a literal warp or dash into mine... I used to keep 1 space away from the danger zone in the past, now i keep 2 or bring in someone with Bulwark 4 or Warp Bubble/Detailed Report.
I remember putting my Mirror Impact fallen Julia with two saves and B!Catria near her on my anima defense and everyone I knew was like "WTF THIS IS SO STUPID" Good times!
Catria was the beginning of the end, for real. It's her fault tanks got as good as they did, cause if they didn't, tanks wouldn't be allowed to exist vs Catballs. Like they aren't allowed to exist now, outside of the IS Approved Tanks.
Ye, Freyr ruined AR Astra, and I am still waiting for AHR to decide who I should invest into. Groom Roy being a strong candidate just to specifically counter Freyr every time seems like a nice idea. Just right now I don't have the fodder, but soon.
Also that Sigurd and catria ruled the AR meta for months until elimine came, she was a counter to those types of teams, plus her effect was a very limited range and you could play around it by having multiple SOT skills that elimine users have to consider which one to prevent. Freyr basically has no condition and cleanses everyone freely. Yeah no elimine was somewhat healthy for the game at the time she came out, freyr busted down the door and kicked her out
The thing with Catria is. She really was never "broken" to begin with. IS just never gave us a proper counter to her til years later. Which is the problem that keeps repeating itself as now we're in that phase again with pre-combat damage. IS is making these units who have this effect that effectively breaks all the rules of the game. Having this effect that ignores all forms of defense and goes directly to HP without any way to counter it. Then they kept adding more of that damage, more and more til eventually we get stuff like Camilla and Lyon. Now you lose half your hp before the fight even begins, and that's with AR standards so that's with the increased Mythic blessings HP. That's not engaging gameplay. The thing is. This would be fine if all we had was 1 simple counter to the effect. That's not too much to ask for. Doesn't even have to fully negate it I have my own workarounds IS can easily do. Pre-combat halving Pre-combat healing An effect that takes the damage taken pre-combat and increases def/res by that amount in combat. So def/res get value again. The thing may break the current rules of the game by just bypassing literally everything, but that's fine if IS starts adding new rules. IS really just proving they don't so much as have a QA team. Also I feel at this point Cavlines have become so prevalent AR is gonna want an extra lane finally. But lazy IS would never do that cause then it means reworking every single AR map in the game to meet that new standard. Is that a hot take? Cavlines are just so boring to build, and so boring to play against.

At the moment it’s cav line, flyer line / infantry line and it’s really hard to not lose one or two units in these lines really pisses me off cause we usually if to destroy at least three to four buildings before we can attack and if you bring any support building your beeped really wish we could remove support building before going into battle.
I think a lot of it is just the state of the meta too, since tanking is just unviable in general. For a long time she was required to punch through tanks, but nowadays base kit nukes blow away every tank in the game so all it'll take for Catria to be meta again is for nukes to start losing the arms race against tanks again
I felt like Bridal Catria meta was SUPER good, because Bridal Catria teams on AR had their weaknesses (easy to hit and run, countered by Elimine until freyr came, etc), but with units like Duo Lyon and Cav lines now it really makes no sense at all how the meta has evolved. Two years ago, you could use any of your favorite nukes with premium fodder and surprise surprise, they'd work just fine. A support that gave viability to 50% of the game is super healthy for the game, specially if you compare it to a meta where you NEED units like Duo Lyon and the shining new toy to win Sure, Elimine wasn't the healthiest, Freyr neither (I feel like Freyr is pretty nice implemented by today's standards and not in the Catria meta), but it was the meta I've enjoyed the most and a lot of people should look into that with retrospective, cause if you enjoy NEEDING and FACING Sanaki, Lyon, Gullveig sets, and the same only 5 viable nukes instead of getting roasted by mid tier nukes with fun niches Catria supported, then idk what to tell y'all

Yea i can beat half of meta. But the game is heavily dependent on for people who doesnt use meta at all in summoner duels. 1.map 2.unit placement 3.units built to counter the meta The most annoying meta to me that ruins this game is path finder warp teams that all consist of a entire team of ranged units. I feel physicals and units like infantry are way to weak unlesd there kit is bull. But most units with high movement is ranged units for 0 reason. The game lacks f2p fairness. So if youw ant to dream team that isnt meta it will be expensive. I feel if the game focused more on fodder for f2p units it would even out the bs if we could counter the broken crap these units bring. In summoner duels i win 50 percent of the time mainly that my team isnt fully equiped or the weapon used cant compete. What annoys me is summoner duel restrictions. Why isnt duo units banned or better rules in place to balance out summoner duels. Sure we have vetoes but that mode is feeled with meta slaves anyway and its choosing your poison way to many meta picks
