"Here are various PAMS a capellas mainly from Series 33 "Just For Fun" but also a few from Series 31 and 32. The famous WABC "I'll Take Manhattan" jingle is included here as well as a few WABC a capella jingles that were mixed for stereo in 1966. The PAMS singers are really on their A+ game on these a capellas- some truly gorgeous, magnificent, beautiful moments. The WAAY "Stars Are Heard/Seen In Alabama" jingles, KQWB's "Summertime In The Red River Valley" the very last jingle for KIOA are ones in particular that leave me frozen in my tracks with their sheer beauty. The "Stars Are Heard" a capellas were also similarly sung for WSGN. What I note is that all of the cuts were sung by the standard PAMS Male group (Marv Shaw and the group) or Mixed Group. Trella Hart is featured leading a few of the cuts, but she's not in the typical mixed group. This stuff is music to my ears, and Series 33 IS my favorite PAMS series (despite the hokeyness of some of the cuts).
The WSGN "Stars" cut is one of the most beautiful cuts PAMS ever recorded. That cut could move mountains. Trella was one of PAMS' best discoveries and I thought it was great to pair her with the PAMS male group for 32 and 33. 2 things I rarely, if ever, heard from other jingle producers: an all-female vocal group and a lead singer/background format doing call and response. PAMS did both. I've been listening to jingles for years and I keep coming back to PAMS as being my favorites.

One of those details I sometimes think about. The conversation between a station programmer buying these jingles and the PAMS representative. Programmer says can you change this or that. I'd love to hear from some of the salespeople who sold the jingles.

I'll have to see if I have just the year sings free and clear. Give me a couple days to go through my CDs.
