Awesome! This is donkeys years older than I am, but I love this music. People tell me I must be a really old soul. One of my absolute favorite songs. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos.

Thanks, and it's one of my favorites as well. I did a lot of musical theatre at one time and used to play this when actors auditioned for parts. Brings back lots of good memories :)

Great playing and thanks for interesting history regarding the style of the time period. I found your version very tasteful and educational while I am preparing for a gig with a singer. Thanks 🎹🎶

A very creative and blues-y version of one my all time favorite songs. Kern was simply a genius! Great playing, Ron!

As a vocalist, just having a song like this with a single piano accompanist is an absolute dream. I even found myself singing around your solo as I listened!

Welcome! Showboat is one the best shows ever written, and this is one of the great tunes from that era. Lyrical and bluesy. Good luck with your piano playing :)

My wife is the happiest lady ever, now that I've learned to play this song, thanks to your video. She has been singing this to me for a long time from a musical she grew up with called Showboat (as you know). So I found your video on youtube and have been practicing daily. I can proudly say I can now play this song, which is my first stride piano song, and I can even play the whole thing at 60bpm with my eyes closed. Thanks for being such an effective teacher!

Wonderful! This is one of my goals; to help pianists play with vocalists and generally share their talents with others. Glad to hear you and your wife are playing and singing this song together!

@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 Thanks for the kind words! I'm returning today to transcribe your solo, and this will be the first time I transcribe a jazz solo so I'm quite excited. Thanks again for your beautiful playing and offering up this lesson for the benefit of all.
